Bad Moon Kommandos rising up

Recommended Posts

As the title suggests, I’ve picked up a few bits here and there but not built any yet. Probably wait until after Christmas and start fresh. I want to get to 2000 points and this is what I have so far:

Ghazghkull Thraka

Box of Nobz

Box of Stormboyz

Combat Patrol Box

Battlewagon

3 Rukkatrukk Squigbuggies

Beast Snagga Box

Runtherd & Gretchin
Painboss

Kommandos from Kill Team

I’m thinking of getting the new battleforce that was announced today too so wondering what I need and don’t need here?

I’m not competitive but I’d like to win a game once in a while but also have a fluffy list. I’m also a Bad Moon at heart but I’m liking the looks of the Blood Axes too.

I think the Christmas box would be an excellent fit for you. IMO, you need more boys. The plane and trike are both solid too. The shokk attack gun is wildly swingy but totally entertaining (especially the look on your opponents face when you roll hot and nuke a dread/knight/just-about-anything in one shooting phase). I also suggest another unit of Stormboyz or Kommandos because they're just so flexible.

Once you have that, you can get some games in and see what style of WAAAGGHH! you want to play then buff that with appropriate units.

Welcome Axineton to the Green team

You have some good stuff there don't bother with the runt herd... grots are a speed bump, he makes em practically twice as expensive... unless you were going a full on Communist Red Army of grots... :tongue.:

As Andes said that Christmas box has your name all over it  (actually it has my name on it too :laugh.: )

Again, welcome aboard, and we all look forward to seeing your army on here !!

Cheers, Mithril

You can never have enough Orks.

Though as others have mentioned, our really effectie stuff this edition is the mechanized stuff. Buggies and bikers especially are fun with the speedmob rules they released. Dreads and Kanz are alot tougher thanks to ramshackle, and I like using da jump from a Weirdboy or the Tellyporta strategem to drop them close to the enemy to get in and destroy key assets early with lots of Dread Klaws.

Beast Snaggas are a bit more expensive then boyz, but so far I've found them more effective as well. And I do like having at least one unit of grots around since their small size means they can hide behind nearly anything and sit on objectives scoring you points while your other units do the work.

Kommandos are alot of fun as well, great for popping up and grabbing objectives when the enemy isn't looking.

Storm boyz look cool, but sadly isn't super effective this edition. If you need fast guys to get on objectives fast or get to the enemy quick I perfer warbikers.

So I’ve joined the kill team painting thingymebob and started to build the kommandos with the nob as my first one. Had a bit of a mare building him as the belt buckle ( part C110) was really hard to find!! Took me about an hour to find it on the sprue and in the end that killled my mojo today. I’ve added a Primaris helmet and human skull to the base also and I’ve cleaned up the mould line on his claw since this picture was taken about 30mins ago.
