Unit of the Week:Death Guard Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour

Largely a follow on from the regular lord but in Terminator armour.

Will grant all the same wargear chooses but an additional point of armour save and the ability to teleport.

I could see merit to this over the regular lord of I wanted a lord to Deep Strike with my terminators

He could bring something like a chainfist to a squad of blightlord, who only have swords and axes. But anti vehicle melee weapons arent as important against tanks as they used to be

And once you add a chainfist, you're in LoV and LoC territory for points, might as well take one of them. I see it's primary purpose being a deepstrike reroll aura, that's about it. I'll admit I was always upset our non DG codex specific stuff never got the bonus toughness or DR, and now that they have it (well lords, sorcs and possessed), I still wouldn't take one haha.

 

Edit: I'm hoping in the next codex they make powerfists into plague claws for lords and plague marine champions. Not game breaking, and the normal power fist look is fine.

We could easily see the designer's attitude to the not-real-DG csm stuff(doesn't include FW): if you own exactly the model, DG codex provide you a way to play it. If you don't, then don't think about purchasing it, go real DG things instead.

I always use a regular termie lord, if for nothing else then for his access to the Combi-Melta and style points. In casual games I always ask my opponent if they're cool with me buying proper plague weapons for him as well, because ermahgerd if it isn't annoying to be a second class citizen in your own codex.
