1000 Point, First Sisters List

I've been humming and hahing about making a sisters army for the past little while, and when the new box set came out, I finally pulled the trigger. With that and what I've already got, I managed to just scrape together 1000 points. I haven't actually played as or against Sisters before (somehow I manage to unintentionally dodge them in all my games despite there being a fair few sisters players in my local meta). So I just wanted to get some thoughts on the list. It's not meant to be super competitive by any means, but I do like keeping things optimized with what I have.

Battalion Detachment: Order of the Penitent Sinners (Custom Order):

Hallowed Martyers (+1 to hit if under max unit strength), Shield of Aversion (Ignore Ap-1)

HQ

Canoness with Plasma Pistol & Blessed Blade: 65pts

Relic: Blade of Saint Ellyonr, WT: Righteous Rage (Re-roll hits and wounds in melee)

Taddeus the Purifier: 55pts

Troops

10 Battle Sisters Squad with x2 Meltagun, Combi-Melta, Power Sword, Simulacrum, Cherub: 155pts

10 Battle Sisters Squad with Heavy Bolter, AC Storm Bolter, Cobi-Plasma, Chainsword, Simulacrum: 140pts.

10 Sisters Novitiate Squad: x2 Ministorum Flamer, Plasma Pistol, Power Sword, Sacred Banner, Simulacrum: 105pts.

Elite

5 Celestian Sacresants with x4 Hallowed Maces, Spear of the Faithful: 75pts.

Pious Vorne: 30pts

Dogmata: 65pts

WT: Indomitable Belief (6" Aura +1 Invul)(1CP) Relic: The Sigil Ecclesiasticus (Extra Hymn, can intone two)(1CP)

Transport

Immolator with Twin Immolation Flamers: 130pts.

Heavy Support

Exorcist with Exorcist Missile Launcher: 180pts.

Total: 1000 Points

The idea is to have the Exorcist and the Bolter Sisters hold the backfield while moving up the Immolator/Sacresants/Taddeus to take on Elite Infantry, The Novitiate and Vorne with protection of the Dogmata's Litany of Enduring Faith to take on Light infantry, and the Canoness and Melta Sisters to go after anything big.

Some general notes:

I think you're too heavy on priests without enough good targets for the buffs, but if you need them in the list to make points then it's not a bad choice. Cut Vorn first if you need the points (she's fun but super fragile and can only cast the +1 attack buff and nothing else).

I don't usually bring plasma in a sisters list because most of our strats and buffs center around the holy Trinity of bolter, flamer, or melta. If you want your Cannoness to be a beatstick, give her an inferno pistol to make her extra nasty to big baddies. I'd flip your combi plasma to a melta or a flamer. Plasma isn't bad, but sisters get more milage out of the other weapons.

Consider multimeltas on the Immolator to give you some reliable antitank threat. Exorcists are swingy and regular meltas can struggle to get in range of a backfield tank.

I would split at least one of your ten strong sisters squads into two five man for cheap trading units. Even with the -1 ap trait, ten strong squads of sisters will evaporate quickly and it's always good to have pawn units you can trade on capturing points rather than always being forced to commit a big unit.

Thanks for the notes.

The only actual priest unit if the Dogmata. Taddeus' ability is just and Aura and Vorne doesn't have a buff.

Yeah, the only reason I took plasma was because is was a backline unit and I didn't think that a melta or flamer would be worth it since they are both short range. I may adjust after some playtesting.

I suppose I could cut Vorne to sway the Immolator to Multi-Meltas. With the Excorsist and the Metla squad I thought I'd have enough anti-tank. I also liked the flamers for overwatch in case someone tried to tag the Immolator in close combat before I could offload the Sacresants, but I do see your point. Another thing to playtest I suppose.   3

That's true, more sister superiors as well I suppose. Will give that a try, might just split them both up. If I cut Vorne for the Multi-Melta's I could afford another combi-melta in the infantry.
