The Decepticron Dynasty

Four million years ago the Decepticron Dynasty was forced into stasis after exhausting their primary source of energy.

Now, in the 42nd millennium the Tau'taubah Sept have recreated this mysterious "Energon", causing the Decepticron Dynasty to awaken.

Good job on your first Necron. Will you use Megatron as a C'tan shard?

Not bad. Will you kitbash a Hammerhead that transforms into a giant robot- maybe a robotic Tyrannosaurus rex, to serve as Grimlock's alt mode?

That Megatron is about the height of the box-nought of old (a teensy bit taller) so I'll be using him as an Overlord with Tachyon Arrow.

(Don't care about legality I don't have the codex and will probably create rules based in my Vengis Accords homebrew.)

However...I've got the Furai IDW Megatron model (it's similar to a gun-pla) that i was thinking could count as a C'tan. Based on reactions it seems that might be passable.

Chronomancer looks like the Fallen from the Bayverse.

I'm gonna finish some more warriors with black carapace bits, then the heavy(?) warriors (double barreled gauss rifles) get red carapace bits.

Uhm, that's about as far I've planned since I'm not even sure what all I've got (Indomitus + 1 Warriors box).

Sounds good - I'm unsure of adding hasbro stuff directly to 40k, are you going to try and convert them to look a bit more in-setting?

There's also no reason to stick with like for like representations of stuff when you're going all in on conversions/proxies - a larger megatron or other figure could be proxied with the catacomb command barge rules - they remain a character, but can fly (like megs) has a regular, decent shooting attack (like megs) and can have a combat weapon (like megs's flail). Could be megs in tank mode?

The Quintesson is a pretty good idea for that guy. Other than the Fallen similarity I had thought Shockwave as Chronomancer because of the single eye. Of course Canoptek Tomb...apede thing for Driller if i go that route.

I think Starscream and his Seekers are probably better represented as destroyers.

If Shockwave is a Cryptek he should be a Technomancer with Canoptek Control Node, model some Scarabs to be his cassettes!

Are we talking OG Transformers or the pisspoor Bayverse movies for insperation? Or are you drawing from all Transformers series'/movies for ideas?

Also if you have not seen it yet watch the War for Cybertron series on Netflix, usually I hate new shows/movies based on old stuff but WfC is amazing!!

When you said "heres a hint" I was hoping for galvatron and starscream lol.

Starring Michael Bay as Starscream!

Michael Bay (as an outraged Galvatron inflicts the injuries Ultra Magnus suffered in the 1986 movie, upon him): "Not- Argh! Cool- Ahhh!"

  • 2 weeks later...

Spent a couple weeks sick then a week recovering then had children's birthdays and finally a water heater replacement. It's been a rough start for the third year in a row for me... I'm seeing a pattern and i don't like it.

I'll be putting a little more paint to models this week finally. I want to try and finish the rest of the warriors at least. Of course given the like 10 minutes it takes to do each one I will have no excuses beyond my own short attention span and laziness if i can't finish 6 more warriors (and Megs himself).
