Brother Tyler
We’ve done some work on the emojis, improving some of the existing emojis, adding some new ones, and deleting others. The emojis have also been rearranged in the WYSIWYG editor. As far as the “improved” emojis go, most of the improvements involved removing some of the light artifacts around the edges. We won’t bother you with the details of those. The key improved emojis were those for the battlefield roles and whistling. The battlefield role emojis were first introduced back when there were only five roles, the icons matched the most common squad badges used by the Adeptus Astartes that followed the Codex Astartes, and the B&C only had one skin (with a dark background). Since then, Games Workshop has expanded the number of battlefield roles, changed the icons, and the B&C has added the mobile skin (with a white background). As a result, the old emojis were a bit dated and didn’t work when viewed on the mobile skin. So we improved them by tweaking the images, adding a black outline to each. We didn’t update the emojis to match the new icons. We’re working on something else for that. Another emoji we improved was the whistling emoji. The original version didn’t include any musical notes, making the suggestion of the image unclear. We added the musical notes, using standard black notes that most people will recognize. We quickly recognized that the black notes wouldn’t work well on the dark background, though, so we created another version with white musical notes. That version, of course, doesn’t work well when viewed on the mobile skin. So we created a new version with blue musical notes that will work on both skins. The blue note version replaced the black note version, both in terms of the file name and the code. The white note version has been removed. pawl, Ammonius, USNCenturion and 4 others 7 Back to top

Trokair
Edit: Probably should say more than that, so thank you for the little quality of life improvements as well as all the general work you do in keeping the B&C up and running. Brother Tyler
Is there a thinking emoji? Thanks for the reminder! If there are any emojis that you think we should consider adding, please post your suggestions here. If you can add a link to an example, that would be even more helpful, especially if we have to create our own version. Brother Tyler
Oh my gosh…… There is some discussion about that jawdrop emoji because its height throws board formatting off. We are considering a shorter version that doesn't affect the line spacing. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/public/style_emoticons/default/jawdrop2.gif Grotsmasha, armarnis, TrawlingCleaner and 3 others 6 Back to top

Can’t quite put my finger on why. The old one is super long, and the sample new one rather short. I feel it needs more of a droop to convey its intent, but not as long as the current one, maybe 1/4 or 1/3 of the current one should be fine. Can’t quite put my finger on why. To me, the new one doesn't look shocked, per se. It looks dismayed, like it's just witnessed a terrible tragedy, rather than the original's 'oh my Throne that looks amazing' as I think it is mostly used. Brother Tyler
We have updated the battlefield role icons from the Space Marine Codex Astartes squad badges used back in 3rd edition to the current icons, expanding the options to include all of the battlefield roles. For example: and These have all been assigned, so they will appear in the WYSIWYG editor. You can find out more about them in the Emoji Guide.
