31. The chapter show company belonging not by colour or number but by the use of Greek letters.

Good idea. Hell, in the US Army, companies are designated by letter instead of by number.

33. Have twelve companies inested of the codex standard ten. [referring to the twelve Labours of Hercules, and the Twelve Olympians]

37. The chapter show company belonging not by colour or number but by the use of Greek shield symbols (like the head of Medusa, trident head, a standing owl, jumping dolphin, etc.)

These seem Space Wolves-y- not that there's anything wrong with Marines being more individualistic, but the Ordo Astartes will likely demand a reason why the Chapter has more Companies than the Codex authorizes. The Space Wolves have the excuse they're a First Founding Chapters, and have powerful allies earned over their millennia of service, to back them; the Exorcists have high casualty rates among their recruits, due to their unconventional recruiting practice

of having Daemons possess recruits and forcing the latter to expel the Daemon by force of will, becoming invisible to Daemons afterwards.

What reason do the Urn Keepers have?

35. Athletic games are a custom part of the chapter’s celebration, be it for victory or to honour fallen heroes.

Good idea. Funerary games are also a good way for youths to draw a Chaplain's attention and prove themselves worthy of recruitment into the Chapter.

What reason do the Urn Keepers have?

It's a fortuned number. The Emperor's tarot (or their readings of his will in the innards of sacrifices) told them to have twelve. They have always had twelve, what ever original reason is lost to time and non of the other representative of the =][= or Terra that have visited/called upon them had any problem with it. According to this ancient decree have the chapter been ordered to keep 1500 marines and they decied to instead of going with fifteen companies just to have twelve. They still have around 1000 marines as most, they are just divided into twelve chapters. What ever reason Minigiant can come up with if he gose with it.

The daemons suggestion would be a bit much because that is Exorcists which in canon is mentioned to be be pretty unique to them as well as needing a connection to Grey Knights and several ordos of Inquisition.

And would not fit with the themes established in the OP

The Codex does allow Chapters to recruit more than nominally permitted, in anticipation of casualties that will be incurred when it goes on a crusade- one the Black Templars famously took advantage of. Say the Urn Keepers were a fleet-based crusading Chapter, like the Black Templars, before they claimed a Chapter planet- the extra two Scout Companies were necessary to maintain numbers during the crusade against [insert enemy here], which the Chapter Masters say is unending- and the Chapter organization hasn't changed despite holding a convenient source of recruits.

According to this ancient decree have the chapter been ordered to keep 1500 marines and they decied to instead of going with fifteen companies just to have twelve. They still have around 1000 marines as most, they are just divided into twelve chapters.

Others noted the 1000-Marine Chapter organization Games Workshop presents in its Codices, does NOT include tank drivers, flyer pilots, starship crewmen, and other support personnel, meaning each Chapter can legally have more than 1000 Marines- one I used to give the Iron-hearted Angels an extra 600-800 Marines, to operate the Chapter fleet. Minigiant doesn't really need to say, "The Urn Keepers have 1500 Marines."

You should not take my long list of "as to why twelv" as propper suggestions, it was just a list of different possible reason to why a chapter could have twelv companies. If Minigiant went with this idea, and I have no idea if they will, I would actually say that making twelv a fortuned number and/or they have always had twelve, what ever original reason is lost to time and non of the other representative of the =][= or Terra that have visited/called upon them had any problem with it would be the best reasons.

And just becouse you don't have ten companies don't mean you need to have 100 marines in each companie, you could divied 1000 with 12 instead of 10, if you want to keep to the ca. 1000 marines/Chapter thing.
