Defiler "scorpion"

Recommended Posts

A few weeks ago I finally got around to finished my Defiler conversion for my Iron Warriors. I was never happy with the look of the Defiler kit, so pretty early on I'd decided to rip it apart. Here's the result (sorry about the paint job, I'm not a good painter and it was drybrushed in a rush to get it ready for a game).

Some of the earlier WIP pics are here if anyone is interested:

***edit: oops, thought my pics were 640 wide, I'd forgotten about adjusting the sizes recently, pic changed to url ***

Hell yes! That's very good work you've done there! Though I miss Iron Warriors Insignia.

Did that take two defiler kits? For I can't see where the scorpion tail is coming from...

And if I may say so, the paintjob looks okay, we're lucky with our metal colours :D

Edit: Question answered, he bought an extra Defiler Leg sprue.

The Defiler never was an arachnid, it only comes with 6 legs (4 walking, 2 claws) in the box. I picked up an extra sprue for the tail (tried some other options first, none fitted the look of the rest of the parts), and sold one of the spare legs to a friend for his Defiler conversion :D

Oh, and about the insignia - it'll come when I've given it a decent paint job ...

I like this one... Many defiler conversions look weird, but i actually like this one.

Dont worry about the paint job, its a great picture of the model and most of the model is quite detailed in it. :D

Always nice to see the scorpion style defilers, I remember I cursed myself when the defiler kit was realeased, and I'd just assembled my own, when someone posted a defiler made to look like a scorpion. Your defiler is very nicely converted too. :D

Cheers
