IW Demon Prince

Recommended Posts

Is there some bug in the subtitles in posts, I can't change it in the original thread, nor in any of my other threads, or is the feature just not implemented on this board(I know the board format allows it).

I made a new thread, if some mod thinks it's spamming, then feel free to paste this one to the original thread. Why I made a new thread is so that I can get more critique on the reworked model, since I don't know how to point out that I've reworked it when I can't change subtitles in the thread. :/

Anyway, I reworked the hammer so that it is whiter, and also now has a red tint wash over it. The skin on the DP has been inked to be a bit darker in recesses, to bring out the forms of the skin better. I also did some tidying up on the base, and painted the bricks, the color of brick.

I also got the damned camera working better now...

What do you think of the reworked version?

The updated versions is certainly better than its predacessor. Some great work. Sometimes IW seem to suffer from silver paint overloads, but that is a nice DP you have there.

Good job. :D:):D

Are you having some kind of a painting-marathon going on? These pics of awesome minis just started popping out with an amazing speed wacko.gif
More or less, another squad will be up later today, or early tomorrow. I've been a bit lazy today, and haven't finished them yet, they just need squad markings and they are done.

are there any pics pre paint?

Should be a thread a few pages back with wip pics.

how did you convert the model tho? the normal dp doesent have any pipes/wires or anything happy.gif

Added links to the wip pics in the original post at the top, check em out if you want to see more of how he looked before paint.

Much better IMO. Looks almost as if the hammer is glowing with some infernal heat of war. Great looking army this is. Looking forward to more and looking forward to Ropecon.

Yeah, it feels nice getting something done for a change, I can't wait to finish the army and line it up for a army shot. :jaw: I guess people can expect some nice stuff from you at ropecon? ^_^ I'll try to squeeze in something as well.

Outstanding work, Chrono.

You gave the metals great depth with the washes and the battle damage, the conversion is top-notch, and the Hammer is an eye-catcher.

great work chronophage. the rework has definately helped the model. when i first saw it i was like, man thats some awesome converting and a sweet pose but the paintjob just doesnt do it justice..

i had put alot of it down to the photography, but it was kind of difficult to make out the skin tones on the model and it just looked like a really cool metal model with a bright yellow hammer. the deeper shading on the hammer really helps to tie it back into the rest of the model and the same holds true with the flesh.

have you reworked the space marine helmet on his belt or is that just down to the quality of the picture? it looks alot brighter in the latest shoot.

Yes, I fixed the helmet up too, I thought it was a bit bland looking, so I gave it some more crisp highlights, and darker recesses.

wow very cool looking, i love the new machine hammer arm, but i have to wonder why his other arm is reached out like that, it seems like an akward pose, the painting and conversion over all is simply fantasmal tho, keep up the great work, and i might borrow the jet pack idea..
