The reroll thang is pretty much how i used to play Salamanders back when the Armageddon codex came out. The benefits back then were Sergeants could take signums which allowed a reroll for the squad. They could also take artificer armour and master crafted weapons but we cant have everything i guess. The new reroll is even better. I guess what we see as fluffy could depend on when you got into salamanders. Anything after 3rd has been heavily reliant on melta and flamers and Vulcan He Stan , 3rd was master crafted weapons and self reliance cheap terminators and a crappy initiative. I like the new rules as its my old way of playing them but better, so i guess i will be making a new Sallies army is what im trying to say.

Waaaay back in 3rd ed i used to field a Talos in my DE army, its sole purpose was to get killed, to be a fire magnet . That is the job of the Storm surge but as an added bonus it gets to deal out a lot of pain while it soaks up that firepower. Admittedly its an expensive decoy but its also pretty good for the points . Broadsides just dont have that impact and can be overlooked in favour of targeting something else. This can cause target confusion however which isnt a bad thing either. Both a great choices but if i was facing a horde id take a Storm surge, if its lots of monsters or tanks id take the Broadsides.

Wyches are best used to support other CC units as they can stop enemies falling back out of combat. On their own though they are fairly weak unless you choose your combat drugs carefully . The DE for me are an exceptional fast shooty army with a couple of good CC units, but in CC you need to work together to get the most out of them.

TTITH was the best day ever!! I got my Decals in ready for my Primaris marines Then my preorder with all the new 8th ed stuff arrived Then The Ltd edition Dante book i won ,in the competition Caldersson kindly arranged , it arrived too. Woot best day EVER!!!!

They will. Normalstartes will be no more (subject to current stock) I might believe this , if they were bringing primaris versions of every space marine unit that currently exists. They dont seem to be doing that though they are bringing diferent units almost like a new army. So the conclusion i get from that is Space marines are going nowhere and Primaris marines are just a new army to use. Furthermore i find the constant doom and gloom posts irritating at best.

Preordered everything cept the ltd ed rule book, im not made of money. Then built a ton of filthy xenos fish men stuff for my son.

Clipped the spares off sprues and dumped 2 big black bin bags of empties into the recycling bucket. i guess i had a lot of stuff over the years.

Im waiting to see if the Primaris Marines get a new bike. If they do then I will be totally making a White Scar Primaris army.

I love these new Primaris Marines, but my Ultras wont be getting any. They seem like they will play totally diferently from a normal Marine chapter and I want to explore that with a new Army, so I want a new Marine army of Primaris only. I will wait and see what the new chapters they mentioned look like. If i dont like the look of any of them ihave 2 options. 1. Go Novamarines (great minds, IronDrake ) 2. If they have cool bikes, I`ll be going White Scars.

Great painting love those cracked bases. I hesitate to mention this, as it makes me look stupid, but i really thought the middle guy in the newly made ones was some kind of squat or dwarf marine..... till i noticed he was kneeling down .....

Welcome back. I do the eyes last since im usually extremely messy with the basecoat. If you do the eyes first then you have to be careful with the basecoat and the wash over the basecoat. With the chest detail if I cant see it i cant paint it, but then if I cant see it nobody else can either so its not a problem :)

If this came in kit form i would probably have given up a while back. The fact youre making this up as you go is utterly amazing.
