  1. So where I think you guys might be getting confused is the old chapter master rule allowed you to "re-roll failed hit rolls" and the new one allows you to "re-roll hit rolls" with no mention of those rolls having failed. In the classic example of a chapter master with a power fist, he could not re-roll his 2s as when re-rolls were calculated they had not failed yet and thus weren't eligible for re-roll. The -1 to hit from the power fist was then applied causing them to fail. The new rule lets that chapter master re-roll any of his hit rolls regardless of whether they were successful or not (even the 6s if he were so inclined) so he can choose to re-roll those 2s. Azreal has not been updated with this new version of the rule.
  2. Can DA upgrade a chaplain to master of sanctity? Google is just giving me the book by Gav Thorpe...
  3. Think there was a reddit post where QA responded saying BT can't use the IF supplement, so it will probs get patched.
  4. Bristol Independent Gaming definitely runs some tournaments, and if you drop them an email they can probably direct you to some others.
  5. The fly change wasn't specifically because of the charge distance but because the model charged straight through a terrain piece.
  6. Nah look how far up he's looking. No way he could reach a throat. He's gonna give them a tickle on the knee. End their adventuring days.
  7. You can just see him standing in front of Ghazkull or Mortarion and just being like "Ya wot mate? 'Ave it!"
  8. That acolyte with a chainsword is the best model ever.
  9. There's this thing called heroic intervention. It can go the other way around but the character can't really be left out. If the honour guard are in combat he heroically jumps to their defence. As they are only 2 models they can't block him either. A footslogging cc character without a transport?
  10. When you look at them in isolation they aren't very efficient but really I've always seen them as a modifier to a hq's base stats. C:SM don't really have big monstrous cc characters but treating a character plus honour guard as one pool of wounds and one pool of attacks with a decreasing attack profile it bridges the gap some what making your character much harder to kill and giving him more bite in combat.
  11. Was thinking about this a little while ago or rather was trying to think of what might get me to refurbish/replace my old vindicators. My problem was that there's far too much that does what it's trying to do but better. So maybe pushing it into a slightly different niche that isn't already filled by lascannons like perhaps a space marine version of mortal wound area denial. A couple of other races have something similar in the toxic miasma some deathguard units get and tyranid biovores with their spores. The linebreaker strategem is sort of this already but with a few too many prerequisites to make it generally useful. I was thinking maybe reduce it to just 2 vindicators or even just one and have it influence subsequent turns in some way. If the opponent stays in that area they eat more wounds or are slowed or something. edit. actually i quite like that. make it one vindicator one cp but as a trade off have it take effect on the players subsequent shooting phase. enemy avoids the area or eats some wounds.
  12. Not really. The more heat or rather the larger the temperature difference the more it will warp when cooling. That being the whole reason it is warped in the first place. A hairdryer is very imprecise with an uneven heat across the piece more warping is much more likely. That being said a hotplate only works with small pieces and any larger pieces the best practice is submerging them in warm water. I made a tutorial on this years ago which i can't find. I may redo it the next time i have some warped pieces.
  13. The base is the Stormraven. And as others stated, it's not the easiest model to build (read, it sucks). A lot of the parts are fairly thin and therefore warp when they come out of the mold. Due to the fact a lot of the items interconnecting, they tend to be hard to bend into the proper shape. Also, a Stormraven can also take a multimelta and a lascannon, keeping it's missiles, so they're fairly similar.. A raven can take two Hurrican Bolters, which is pretty awesome. The biggest difference is transport capacity; the Raven transporting a dread in favour of 8 infantry slots. A trick that I use is to rest the pieces on a hot plate on a low setting. You only need like 30-40C and some patience. If you are using super glue the increased temperature will cause the glue to set much quicker than normal however so some care is required.
  14. Just didn't think there was anything more that needed saying. GW could change their minds but right now we are led to believe there is an incomprehensibly large fleet of tyranids on its way for which the likes of hive fleet leviathan or goliath were mere "scouts". A space marine might well be worth 1000 nids but he is unlikely going to do much against a trillion... or more.
