Large and Moving Torb's Achievements

  1. Well this is the first event I'm participating in outside of the Realm of Chaos so here goes... "I, Large and Moving Torb, heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint a 10-man Assault Squad, two 5-man Deathwing Terminator squads, one Razorback, and one Chaplain with Jump Pack for a total of 30 points, all to the Glory of the Dark Angels - the Emperor's first and most faithful Space Marines - and the Imperium Stronghold on or before 30th September 2023, or bear the badge of failure in ignominy until year's end." Detailed points and start pictures below. And that should do it! @Grotsmasha, let me know if I bunged up the points and I will correct them.
  2. @Arkhanist thank you for confirming. I thought my reasoning was sound but I guess I couldn't get over the idea that folks who play more games than I do would just get the rule so wrong. I've certainly misread or misunderstood rules in the past. And I absolutely agree with you that they should have called the ability something else; it would have made the rule interaction more clear.
  3. Ok, so I've watched a couple battle reports now with the box set contents and in at least one I'm seeing use of Synapse in a way that is different from what I was expecting. That is the suggestion that every Tyranid model is a Synapse model; I assume they are saying this as the Faction ability lists Synapse. But to be a Synapse model doesn't the unit datasheet have to have the Synapse keyword? Otherwise, for example, Hormagaunts would be Synapse models. Surely not?
  4. Personally, I want to see someone run a full 9 Land Raiders (standard, Crusader, and Redeemer) in an Onslaught game. That's assuming points aren't too different.
  5. The Tactical unit comp change is really obnoxious. I have a small Dark Angels army with a Razorback and was planning on adding another with a five-man Tac squad. I guess that is going to have to be a second Devastator squad now, just with bolters so I can take my second RB.
  6. it's on the card right after the Assault Intercessor Squad.
  7. "We only make rules for the models we sell. Well, except if it's Space Marines." That said, I am glad they kept the "FB" jump pack Chaplain, as well as the JP Libby. And am I reading the the Tac squad unit composition right? It has to be a 10-man squad?
  8. Interesting. I'm glad I picked up a couple boxes of Eightbound before they vanished from the shelves. One thing to note though: the keyword functionality doesn't seem quite right. If you check both "Chaos Space Marines" and the "Psyker" box, the Sorcerer and Sorcerer Lord in Terminator Armor don't show up. Unless both have dropped that keyword in the 10th rules?
  9. I'm a fan of the global campaigns and I wish GW did them more often. That said, I think it's pretty crummy to only allow those with the box code to participate and I say this as a person who is very likely picking up the box (or attempting to). Hopefully, they decide to open it to a wider audience after the first two weeks.
  10. I'm in! Ready to Like and Subscribe to all your content for reciprocal actions. Make sure to link to your FB, IG, and TikToks. Oh and on the topic of the starter box: I went by one of the independent stockists near me to put my name on his shop's "interested" list for the Leviathan box. He already had a few dozen people who had done the same. His shop isn't the only one in town and we also have a GW store as well. I imagine the other shops have such a list as well. This is in a midsize U.S. metro area. Not sure what others are hearing, but thought I'd pass it along.
  11. Man, that profile look in the second shot really tells the story. Also, the new one has what looks like a slight tilt - maybe it's just the leg positioning - but to my eye it has more of a look like it's lumbering forward where the other two seem to have a more static pose. It's subtle but definitely there.
  12. Same in U.S. Been refreshing since this morning but I apparently missed the five second window.
  13. Been watching the game. Those datasheet cards look big! I thought they'd be a bit smaller.
  14. I haven't seen the 10th sheet yet, but if Poxwalkers are M4" in the new edition that means every unit Typhus joins slows him down. I guess I shouldn't be surprised if that is the case.
  15. Interesting that Typhus is faster than Blightlords and Deathshrouds. I assume that's so he can keep up with Poxwalkers? I want to see the Lord of Contagion now. Also cool that Tallyman can double-up with another leader. It would be nice to see the Putrifier and the Plague Surgeon to see if either or both produce a synergy.
