Inspirational! There's a lot to like here, and certainly a lot I intend to imitate (it's the sincerest form of flattery, I swear).

It's not much, but it ain't nothing! Still learning new photo processes...

Friends, Imperials, battle-brethren! Lend me your ears! I'm contemplating a future project and am currently in the assessment/feasability stage. If any of you have tried & tested any third party suppliers you have used, or designers you have had good results from, I would like to hear of them. Actual parts for sale would be ideal, but I do have free access to quite a good 3D printer via my workplace so files are of interest as well. What am I looking for? I am looking for storm shields that are scaled for, and compatible with: the current Bladeguard Veteran kit, and the current Deathwing Knight kit, or (as a somehwat distant third choice) the current Terminator Assault Squad kit. For the Bladeguard, I am in particular looking for alternative shapes that still have generic-but-fitting Imperial aesthetics. A perfect example is the rectangular shield with writing and gladius mounted on it, which is available to the Bulwark in Space Marine 2. For the Deathwing Knights, similar shapes to current their shields but with somewhat more generic aesthetics, and then as a lower priority I'm also interested in some alternative shapes. So tell me of your conversion forges, brothers! And perhaps inspiration will strike me.

Nice to be able to have unique Dreads and specialists in differing armour types, but I am kind of sad that we don't get to make a Gravis LT who can provide a defensive buff to his unit (a la the Heavy in SM2).

Painted up an Assault Intercessor for my AoD Kill Team. Also trying a new backdrop alongside phone photos rather than desktop photo manipulation.

It's slow going around here... Lots of life things, I suppose. And the pile of shame grows steadily...

BIG gap in painting occasions! Third model of the year and third Intercessor ever. Number four is actually also in progress right now.

How time flies... My first Vow for CtA24 will be the 3 points of models I failed to paint for CtA23! Damn, I really haven't done much hobby-wise in the past year...

Second model of 2024, second Intercessor ever! I head overseas on holiday for a few weeks on Saturday morning, but when I get back, I intend to get cracking on Intercessors #3 and #4!

Happy new year, frater! Some of you may remember that Dark Imperium - the esteemed boxset that introduced the world to Primaris space marines - was released in June 2017. With that fact and timespan in mind, I am proud to say that today, on the first day of 2024, I have completed my very first Intercessor. You'd think it would be more impressive after seven years, but nay I say, nay! This model is part of the failed half of my CtA23 vow, and also the first model in the Combat Patrol I'm building (it's the Dark Angels one, not that I bought it; I had all of the elements of that particular one in my pile of shame already!). So a humble beginning to what should be a pretty neat project.

Militarum mechanicus, at that! There's also this, which feels pretty... familiar? Can't quite put my finger on it... Hmm...

It was probably confirmed a while ago, but I probably haven't been paying attention: nice to see that Scouts still get a missile launcher, and in Kill Team no less.

And the final member of the Phobos Strike Team/Infiltrator Squad! Voxbreaking all the time. There's some paint on the Intercessors I vowed for CtA but I think there's going to be something of a gap between now and my next post!

Well, failed my CtA vow due to real life things. But here's what I did manage to get through! First up, the second 'Reiver' of the kill team, with a chest cross-draw and stowed grav-chute. The commsman, with tiny readout and signalling to his team. The saboteur, with a button he absolutely cannot wait to push. Currently working on the voxbreaker (who will likely never be used...) to round out the team.

Brothers, with great shame, I come before the stronghold to admit defeat: owing to various real life things and adulting responsibilities, I will be unable to complete my Vow before the 30th. My penitent crusade shall beign soon, no doubt.
