  1. If the Reave-Captain gave his charge bonus to his unit, then he would be a solid competitor to a regular Chaos Lord or MoE. As it is, he's pretty meh. Cool model though, might convert one into a regular Chaos Lord or something.
  2. The first thing that I thought when I saw the leak was that this model was going to be used in countless Variel conversions.
  3. In Blood Reaver one of the reasons Variel left the Red Corsairs was because of the Chaos worship in the ranks, including Garreon, his mentor. The Astral Claws might have originally turned due to political reasons, but that original intent matters little when one is corrupted by the Dark Gods. Compare Lufgt Huron to Huron Blackheart.
  4. Huh, so it's actually a new detachment, not just a rework of Slaanesh's Chosen. +1 Strength and AP on the charge looks good. Lord Exultant can lead Flawless Blades with an enhancement. Fulgrim has discounted strats.
  5. Dread Talons was probably the CSM detachment that desperately needed an upgrade. Master of Executions synergize very well with the Nightmare Hunt detachment special rule. A MoE leading a Legionary squad can hit really hard for their points cost. That's 170pts, right?
  6. In-universe yes. Out of universe, McNeill was probably making a pun on Fulgrim having purple armor and Slaanesh having a purple motif. This is a setting with ''Ultramarines'' and ''Ferrus Manus'' after all.
  7. It would be cool if EC finally got a detachment that actually centered around their Cult unit. However, the Cult Legion codices exist to sell Primarch kits. Now, Fulgrim is an underwhelming unit on the tabletop. Going by the leaked name, I suspect that this will be something intended to help boost him. Nightmare Hunt sounds interesting. Probably a reworked Dread Talons detachment.
  8. McNeill seems to have been inspired by the original metal Ultramarines Honour Guard models that were released back in 2004. They were a part of the 4th edition Marine Codex. McNeill wrote that Codex as well. Fulgrim came out a few years later. If they look similar to MkVII, then that's why.
  9. I find it telling that with six detachments, not a single one is themed around the Noise Marines. I can’t prove this, but I suspect that the game designers would have cut Noise Marines if they could have. So much of the long-range shooting was ruthlessly culled from the book. The World Eaters have better shooting. To be fair, the Flawless Host don't really have much lore to begin with.
  10. Thank you for the reply. The brush-on primer that I purchased is this Black Primer. It is included as part of the Primer paint line. I don't think it is part of their regular paint line, or am I misunderstanding your meaning?
  11. Hello. I have recently been thinking of using some brush-on paint primer. Namely, I’ve acquired Pro-Acryl brush-on primer. I have a few questions before I start using it. Would there be any safety hazards when using this sort of brush-on primer? Would you need a respirator mask for this sort of brush-on primer? Or would that not be required for this sort of paint product? I have done some research on the internet, but I haven’t found a clear answer to that question. I don’t think so, but I want to double check for health reasons before I do anything. The Pro Acryl brush-on primer should be a water-based acrylic. I would appreciate any insight from hobbyists who have used this sort of brush-on primer.
  12. So, wait, the Tartaros Terminators not having fists wasn't a typo? That was intentional?
  13. Not a big thing, but Terminator Sorcerers lost the ability to take a khopesh. The Aspiring Sorcerers in the Scarab units still can, but not the character version. It's not a huge thing, but it is kind of odd because the studio kitbash is modelled like that. The model picture in the Codex actually cuts off right before the khopesh arm on the model.
  14. They were supposed to be disguised as statues. That would explain the paint scheme that the studio did.
  15. Reading through Fulgrim: Perfect Son. Minor spoilers below.
