  1. https://www.archiesforge.co.uk/collections/sanguine-angels-bits/products/legio-sanguine-terminator-shin-and-hip-plates-set-of-6 https://www.archiesforge.co.uk/collections/sanguine-angels-bits/products/legio-sanguine-terminator-torsos-set-of-5-design-1 just some examples
  2. You can get the terminator bits from Archie’s forge
  3. Fairly sure this is a photo edit rather than anything official. i agree though, the white placement makes me think thousand sons
  4. nice enough, I don’t think it does a better job of making the model stand out, except the tabard, and black isn’t the colour of the really see for tabards on BA (usually beige like ultramarines or dark grey)
  5. depends which bits we mean? Do we just mean the bits on the shins and knees? Or do we mean the pteruges and rope and purity seals too? If just the shins and knees? Its a very low effort task that I'm 100% sure I could do and have looking good faster than I could remove and not ruin the model in the process (excluding the aquilla - but if the model I was doing it on already had a knee ornament in the middle, id just skip the aquilla anyway). Removing the rim on the knee without wrecking them (and keeping the aquilla for equivalence in the example!) would be much harder than a thin sausage of GS around the knee. The little bits on the shins are super basic and would be easy to sculpt but I agree probably equally easy to remove (I think I'd still sculpt it quicker than I could remove it and have it perfectly smooth though). If we're talking the ropes, pteruges and purity seals too? Then no, removing them would be much more work than I want to do (and I wouldn't sculpt all of that on there as that particular set of legs was egregious for amount of stuff in the first placve). I actually know for sure as I've removed those details on those exact legs before - except the pteruges which are basically impossible to remove without needing to rescult the armour - which is a bigger ask if you want good results. I'm a reasonable sculptor, so I recognise that it's not necessarily something everyone could do, but if all you want to do is add the little reliquery shaped bits and a trim to the knees - its not difficult. Sculpting stuff like wreaths, wings, skulls, aquillas etc? That's much harder but this model already has a skull with terminatus symbol and a wreath on the leg. Tbf, I do like some ostentation at times though and agree that most is far beyond even passable sculptors like myself, I just think the example model you used wasn't a good one for the issue you're thinking about - the ones posted by wispy are probably better as they have actual complex shapes on most of them, plus things like extra studs (also harder than the simple flat shapes from the mk4 vanguard legs you shared). final thought on the scrape and sand point - its only easy if the part you want to remove is very easily accessible, if it is, and you arent worried about any surrounding details - super easy, the moment you want to preserve anything very close its very difficult, similarly if its not totally open and easy to access, its challenging, and often you end up with the area the detail was removed from being slightly warped, be it slightly indented or slightly protruding - not an issue if you plan to replace the detail with something else, big deal if you want to paint it plain or even put transfers on.
  6. tbf, this guys legs were not great. The actual details actually would be fairly easy with green stuff, the sole exception being the small aquilla. But still possible.
  7. So it actually used to be that blood angels 3rd company are the ones with black trim, whilst the other companies stick to red (veterans potentially being gold, or not, varied). Looks like this guy is from 5th company though. Based on the trailer, they all have the swords, i thought they all had plasma pistols too, but valrak says not edit trailer definitely has more than 1 with plasma pistol
  8. only terminators last I checked? no wait, grey tide are the really odd looking ones that just look inherently 3rd party. I stand corrected archies forge have some decent bits for the terminator kit at least. But I’ve never seen shins for intercessors sadly
  9. I think it’s fine. I prefer slightly less over the top bling on my veterans, this is fairly in line with the Sternguard update tbh. Only thing I think is realistically missing is the jump pack should have had some form of bling, be it a veteran symbol or Aquila or something pose is okay, nothing special but not bad. weapons look as expected, happy to see vanguard and will have MC swords going forward. i think the loin cloth should have been dark grey, that’s what art tends to show for blood angel vets and I think what was done for the Sternguard too. I like the transfers. (Incidentally this is an area that sculpted detail may have helped - blood angel veteran shoulder pad would look better than the transfer but then it’s too chapter specific) as for it using mkx as a base… what did people really expect, we saw the same video so knew it would be the case. I personally like jump intercessors so have no issue with vanguard aligning (I banked on it and had some custom blood angel ones 3d commissioned last year)
  10. I’d be fine with the idea of the combo part being the pistol equivalent - maybe with range closer to the full version. That would be an interesting twist for them. I’d also be fine with them just having bespoke profiles that are somewhere between pistol and normal but -1 to hit if you use both it and the bolter part.
  11. Sternguard shouldn’t be suicide squads. That was always part of the problem
  12. For what it’s worth, I do actually agree that I’d like to see combi weapons go back to separate profiles
  13. Keep in mind that for many editions the combi part was single use. Would we want to go back to that?
  14. sternguard has the older style one. So no, he just has a mkX helmet with mkVII faceplate on his boss pole. Clearly the idea is that all the parts can be intermixed, right down to subassemblies! Which is narratively cool IMO
  15. i think they'll be 5 man squads tbh, like sternguard. Could be wrong, as you say, but my gut says something like: 5 man squad - default weapons will be similar stats to sanguinary guard swords and they'll have plasma pistols (seems that way from the trailer). But they'll be 2 wounds and 3+ save with no invulnerable. Means you have sternguard as shooty vets, bladeguard as tanky vets and then vanguard as glass canon melee vets
