Thanks! the bone work so far is super easy: wraithbone agrax earth shade drybrush/highlight with ushbati bone 50:50 skeleton horde + lahmian drybrush/highlight with wraithbone ill do a final highlight with wraithbone and white as well, but not got that far yet. Similarly may push shadows with point washes of Agrax

small progress update. Started highlighting wings... painful experience, made some sizeable changes to the axe blade.

Made a little more progress on Astorath. Not 100% on the axe, I wanted to go for metal weapons with energy playing over them rather than the black and turquoise blade look of the official models. I think I did too many lighting lines tbh. But learned for next time. Made

Not to sound like an old person (I'm 37...) but its because of video games, mobiles etc Now don't get me wrong, obviously they were a thing when I was younger, but the proliferation of them has increased significantly. As has the variety, ease and quality. When I was 11 I painted miniatures, I did play some games on an old PC in my parents "study", but had no access to consoles at home, nor did I get a mobile till I was 15. So by the time I had a mobile and was allowed to game in my own room, I'd already been doing warhammer to some level for 7 or so years (started when I was 8), in that time I'd developed the addiciton already so was hooked enough that those other things never quite pushed me away from it. That said, even now as a much older man (lol), i go through phases of computer gaming or hobbying, rarely doing both at the same time, because my preferred game types (RPGs) are long time dedication things... i have a busy job and three kids. My eldest has an army and does occasionally build and paint, hes played some games. So I see that as an absolute win... that said, he wont choose hobby time over his other interests (minecraft, roblox, switch gaming, lego, youtube) typically. My middle child is completely uninterested outside of a mild liking for some of the paint colours. And my youngest is only 2 months old... so time will tell. It's a crying shame when they're all named after warhammer characters!

no idea if we still have the thread, but I was very vocal that it was real from the start and very excited for the updated design lol. I just remember people insisting it was a conversion and trying to specify where parts "clearly" came from. -

nice progress! Id mayble look atgetting some thick plastic glue to gap fill the side panel, then sand it down - you'll get a better finish then -
I think the new cataphracti look good, but they definitely lost some of the bulky appearance which sucks. One of the best things about the new indomitus kit is it really kept its bulk whilst having the better proportions. Makes it look menacing in a way these just don’t look. new breachers are fun of course. Not enough to get me back into HH but still cool

bit more progress - quite enjoying painting again for the first time in a long time. will have to start highlighting stuff soon (hair and purity seal are highlighted, as is mask) I’ll fix up the mold lines on the axe later

NorthernUltramarines has said my thoughts better than I could honestly. Chairon + Gadriels purpose was to do two things: 1) allow for co op through the campaign 2) provide means for Titus to have character growth They could have left Chairon alive, they didn't, they were under no obligation to and either way I imagine at least in the case of Chairon, it was still talked about with Saber - to ensure Saber didn't have plans for the character. They could have killed Gadriel instead of Chairon, or both or neither. Each of those scenarios has a different affect on the trajectory of Titus at this point, for whatever reason they opted to kill Chairon and not Gadriel, we might get to see some of the affect of this in the new campaign book, or in animation or the next game I guess. Time will tell. You're absolutely right, you didn't mention Acheran, I did read the rest of the post, but honestly I just don't think "they didn't have to do anything at all to Chairon" part was really that worthwhile getting into, mostly because they don't have to do anything, but no matter what they do do (haha), someone will complain about it - thats the nature of these things. Equally they were under no obligation not to do something to him, but the only character with plot armour in that game is ultimately Titus, because he's the face of it, and who GW are now latching onto. Everyone else is expendable as the narratives they want to tell drive. I don't actually necessarily agree with the course of narrative, but I am looking forward to seeing where it goes in the next game.

GW own the property, not saber, all the characters are for GW to do as they please with, and as NorthernUltramarines says, it wont be a random warhammer community person that made the call, it'll be GW writers. most random company captains dont get stories of their demise, even with him being in a game as a side character, he simply isn't that important.
