  1. Back on the topic of company heroes - I’ve found them to be a fun unit to run with a captain, they’re still relatively cheap, they’re relatively sturdy, have enough OC to be relevant and don’t entirely suck at either shooting or melee, even if they aren’t standouts at either. Champion in melee has precision which is handy. I actually run mine with a lieutenant too. I tend to run both the captain and lieutenant with both master crafted sword and bolter. Helps round out the units melee and shooting and gives lethal hits and fallback and charge/shoot. Had a lot of fun with them personally
  2. wait.. we're getting high elves??
  3. Actually, a 3 man victrix squad had precisely 1 model that can shoot assuming you take the actual characters in it, a 6 man unit still has 2 models that don’t shoot. And both cost more points than company heroes. dont get me wrong, the victrix are absolutely better, but actually their issue really is just that they are overtuned which is why they have seen point increases.
  4. i find it quite amusing that theres multiple both shoot and charge after fallback or advance strats in the new detachments, where usually those things are all broken into separate strats lol
  5. Personally prefer the vampire
  6. a unit that can attach to Bladeguard and has a lot of wounds. Suppose vindicare assassins might be the way forward lol
  7. i hope his revive rule gets updated to 1/game. He's also a bit nuts with sustained hits, 8 damage 2 attacks that wounds infantry on 2s regardless of toughness, suppose the AP is still not great though.
  8. I'm mostly just excited to see the eldar corsairs, I've been tempted by them for years and I've always liked yriel, I do have some eldar stuff unbuilt and maybe this will be the thing to nudge me to do something with it! outside of that, the new chaos apothecary is cool, he's very similar to the primaris one pose wise, I like the design for the mechadendrites, his face is a little goofy, but that seems like it may be an intentional theme. The detailing is nice on him too, i find it interesting that the red corsairs look to still be going for the chaos design asthetic, i feel it would have been cooler to veer a bit closer to loyalist styling on them (stuff like backpacks in particular), but still nice. Armour design overall just looks like the legionnaire set which isn't a bad thing. Interested to see where these sit size wise.
  9. scouts look great man, nice work!
  10. The claw actually makes sense now, soft armour on the inside for flexibility, it more feels like they’re trying to be consistent with claw/armour designs now and there’s a bit more aim for things to make sense. As others noted, the 8 pointed star is just on the other side now, so it’s not gone, just different. the details are cleaner which is mostly just down to cad vs hand sculpting (some sculptors do better work by hand, such as Sam as was mentioned earlier, but not many). the head is really my only issue with the new one, and that’s really just because it’s a bit too caricature for my liking, the details are good, the mouth is just too large imo. can someone help me out on one thing? Why does Huron have 8 pointed stars at all? I thought the whole point was he isn’t devoted to chaos and is straight up your quintessential renegade that employs chaos forces but never swore to them? But I admit to being rusty at best on that element post badab.
  11. Not sure what you’re trying to get at by that? its not the reason though, I found the pose awkward and the left arm weapon design was naff. Claw was cool. The tabard was wide and ugly and then I also disliked most of the old terminator models as proportions were particularly egregious. as far as detail goes - one of my favourite models of all time is captain korvydae who was immensely more detailed.
  12. I never liked the forgeworld one.. except the head which is great.
  13. I like the model pose and details are good, I like the face in that it’s a bit crazy and ugly which fits with what he’s been through. That said there is something oddly caricature about it. overall it’s a good update to the old model in my view. But I’m also not a chaos player
