  1. i do think Dante or Guard will change next book, the fluffy unit combo is them but its far from optimal
  2. I quite like the grenade launcher tbh. I do still think giving the unit an actual heavy and/or special weapon IN ADDITION to grenade launchers would be great though and really make Intercessors more valid/interesting. I also still think giving one model a marksman sniper boltrifle similar to how scouts get the sniper with precision would be neat too. You make the core marine unit have enough interesting things to be a legitimate and viable core to an army if you end up with: sergeant - melee 2x aux grenade launcher + bolt rifle- versatile shots in addition to base rifle profile 1x sniper - ability to whittle wounds off enemy SUPPORT characters 1x heavy - anti tank capaibility 1x special - anti X capability 4x bolt rifles entire units melee gets AP-1 like combat knives on scouts etc. the grenade launchers can be used in krak or frag profiles to supplement your heavy/special weapons each round as desired. The units melee is nothing special but its still a threat to lighter armoured stuff, the sniper helps remove problem characters. A couple of such units in an army would be interesting. In addition, having the sniper and aux in addition to classic tactical loadouts would make the units "tactical" versatility considerably better than classic tactical squads. AND the unit would feel like a pretty solid evolution from traditional scout squad. The above will NOT happen, though :D
  3. good for you? edit apologies the above was a bit brusque. I've not removed it as the sentiment still sort of stands and it's also better to not hide I guess, been a rough few weeks for me on a personal level. Not that anyone cares. But anyway, what I really mean by "good for you" is, if you didn't buy last editions codex, you're, frankly, not really the target demographic or audience anymore and I doubt James Workshop really cares if you buy it or not. Fundamentally, Adeptus Astartes continue to be their highest sellers bar none, a few random people here and there opting out isn't going to make a major impact on their bottom line. And if they ever released a version bad enough nobody bought it, I think there would then be significantly bigger issues. I do commend voting with your wallet though, kudos. I just also think if you don't intend to actively engage with the edition... your opinions also don't really matter (to Jimbo, they're obviously still valid and meaningful opinions to yourself and I'm sure there's enough people that agree with them even)
  4. This is why i think following the rifleman approach would work well for them Sergeant with nice melee entire squad with bolt rifles, bolt pistols and actual combat knives - fairly in keeping with real world rifleman squads grenade launcher - again pretty in keeping with rifleman squads bolt sniper rifle - equivalent to the marksman rifles someone in a rifleman squad often has heavy bolter or rocket launcher - technically both would make sense, i could see going a slightly different way and having heavy bolter AND rocket launcher equally This would make for a pretty great setup for kill team, it would also make it feel like the equipment and training the modern scout unit has kind of follows through to intercessors. I know some people would complain at "too many weapon profiles" though.
  5. when they first came out, the different bolter variants were interesting IMO, you could theme them to your playstyle. The grenade launchers have always been nice too because they have basically always been in addition to the regular rifle fire so you got a mini rocket launcher effectively. when they parred the bolt rifle variants back to one you kind of got best of all worlds… but also lost the thing that made the unit sort of interesting. That said the grenade launcher got made a little better and you got to take two. my ideal “tactical intercessors” would be the current rifle rules, with the grenade launchers and the sergeant options, but also bringing back the stalker bolt rifle with basically the bolt sniper rifle rules from eliminators as an alternative to a grenade launcher, giving the entire unit proper combat knife profiles and then maybe some kind of option for a rocket launcher. That would then also make a pretty interesting setup in kill team too.
  6. Same thing they always did with tactical squads too. it’ll either be new options or just new customisation. Hopefully both i still personally hold out that they just combine tactical and intercessor squads
  7. Looked pretty solid honestly, I like that the “ranks” aren’t very neat and that they position to make use of cover and terrain
  8. wha?? just checked the app and that still allows 6 (even after updating the app)
  9. Yeah I like that the old and new ork stuff looks pretty good together
  10. Glorious scene that. i like that Ral is often called out as being in the top fighters in the legions, name dropped alongside folks like corswain and sigi. But Ral is also portrayed as super down to earth and understated
  11. my view is that Guy Haley has been the best thing to happen to the blood angels from a novel perspective, period. I'll pick this up for sure. (I do hope he goes back and writes a followup 40k novel though, I want more Teus)
  12. actually there was a blood angel command squad with jump pack kits at one point. it had gone oop before then but the rules allowed the old kit to still be used till then.
  13. I think it’s intentional to fit in the increased height gorget. I don’t think it’s incorrect or even an issue
