  1. I have found two units of 5 with 2 sniper rifles have been very useful especially with cawls re rolls. the mortal wound may only come into play every other turn, but the strong strength and d3 damage means you can realistically pick off one supporting character a turn (or take down transports so not wasting your spyder tanks on them) they also don't take much firepower as rest of list is quite aggressive/more of a threat
  2. the middle is clearly what was intended and is currently RAW on the sekhmet entry, so I would personally always go with just choosing two powers from those 2 decks
  3. I do think the barrels could do with some weathering, im planning on doing my T son like my ravengaurd one : http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321231-nevermore-a-raven-guard-horus-heresy-painting-log/?do=findComment&comment=4370204 also are the models shinier in real life?, my T sons are done with 3 coats of airbrush tamiya clear red, and finding it really hard to show the true colours in a photo. cheers, keep it up
  4. i agree, a complete sisters army is a horror to face with any army. but damn those transports are good, however cost over points will limit them somewhat i feel
  5. i played a game the other week and ran a bare bones seeker unit (sgt had AA,PF but they never got charge) infiltrated on the flank and poured str5 ap2 shots with shred into his Space wolves all game including chipping rounds of Russ at one point. I loved them, just so realible especially if you mark of death a big unit your going to target all game anyway. ive started using my MD squads smaller and in rhinos taht scout, move up. hopefully survive then suicide assault the hardest hitting enemy unit possible. my vets are now used as all rounders but with a good mix of antitank melta combis as its the thing my force lacks, ap2 is in abundance from plasmas/dark furies rending/MD rends etc
  6. im playing it as you can choose from those two decks, and thats it. I think if a unit gets it own rules and then allows you chosoe rather than generate pychic powers you cant choose to ignore that and just roll for normal ones. thoughts? (also has anyone seen adepticons FAQs, someone must have word bearers lol)
  7. I dont think its over powered looking at somelegion/rites of war combos out there. Sekhmets are a good unit, but the tax is very fair (80pts) they are especially good in the crimson king RoW but not broken. The choose powers is not a biggy, as the two decks they can choose from are not the best in anyway (id rather have the rerolls any day!) all in all a interesting army and one i have started (sold by metallic red!) going to do a term/sekhmet/vet force
  8. ADB I've always wanted to read a marine novel that is like Valerio Massimo Manfredi's Alexander series.. From aspirant to chapter master to his end..
  9. im really looking forward to the Sanguinius model.. I'm sure they rules will make him top tier, and also be a support Primarch too with rules that dramatically improve the BAs. I remeber from the Horus Heresy tactical board game that sangy could do his bloodrage power once per game and that would dramatically improve the damage output but leave them vulnerable in defence
  10. but look at the last two red books, units where altered from their original books, it happens.. sekhmets are underpointed, compared to all other terminators. But like everything there is always a rock to its scissor
  11. Wow, this is my next 30k force and it seems to be the opposite of 40k thousand sons, its awesome! I do think it will be nerfed in later years, but my plan of a elite/term army with magnus for 2500-3000 points seems like it will be a winner. :)
  12. really nice standard of painting mate, looks great. Im planning on doing a small TSons force, and unsure wherever to go all red so can use them in 30k and 40k, but that blue is lovely
  13. new update has made me rethink a few things: I have decided that seekers will be my new snipers... for 255 points I can get a 10 man unit that can infiltrate somewhere out of the way or up a nice big tower and just drop 10 bs5 str5 shredap2 shots a turn into whatever I like. compare that to a recon sniper unit at 225 points. I'd use mk6 guys with the spare sniper rifles left over from my MD squads, but probably cut the barrels off and keep the silencers. my drop pod dreads may now become contemptor-cortus on foot and just use fleet to run at the enemy! MD squads still have their place and my 6/9 man squad with 2/3 plasmaguns and 4/7 combi flamers will still kill most nasty units out there. assault squads are worth a punt, run it cheap with 3 poweraxes and AA I think, maybe a 20 man unit with chaplain could be very good :) javelins could by my new light armour killers, very cheap for what they do vet tacticals x 10 with 10 combi plas and a few power axes just seem a true can kill everything, combined with drop pod in our legions ROW and you have a great all round unit, even on foot with infiltrate combined with the new vet skills makes this a true stand out unit.
