1. Great to see you back posting, this is a truly spectacular army that would be a crime to go unfinished. I’m hoping the new Heresy release re-invigorates me, as I do have some Thousand Sons I want to finish…. It think the Primaris / Mini marines thing killed my heresy vibe, so am looking forward to an allegedly bigger scale. I might have some SW doors or be able to source them, you are talking the v1 doors or the really really old ones?
2. A homage to Ulrik the Slayer, probably could have done a bit more on this dude conversion wise, but sometimes you just need to get stuff done! A fun project all round!
3. A little bit of festive Snow… Had a lot of fun painting Ragnar and the Wolves - shall dump some more pics later as the army is pretty much finished
4. This was a tough one, the base model is pretty much un space wolfy, it was a challenge to get the look sometime close to what I thought looked right. Axe and head definitely helped. Very pleased with how this one turned out
5. Wolfed up the Eradicators- sculpted some wolf pelts, leather straps and added a few trinkets. Figure they’d be like old school Long Fangs!
6. Blood Claw Pack leader Simple weapon swap with a little greenstuff work in the beard! Came out quite nicely
7. Well I did draw a lot of inspiration from your 30k Wolves! There is such a lot of character that you can add to the wolves. I’d probably like to add more bits and detail but they’ll never get done….. The snow has been a long and painful process to get right! But AK interactive snow powder is the way to go….. Anyway I thought I’d make assault intercessors into Blood
8. Thanks guy’s, I just fancied a change, I like the newer Primaris stuff but still find them pretty bland, so couldn’t resist tinkering with them with some conversions. Here’s the unit complete
9. Bikers all done, tried to make them wolfy but not too wolfy!! And the next
10. Wolfed up the biker Sgt! Added a little bit of wolf totems and some sculpted fur and it’s looking rather swish!!
11. Got some paint down on these bad boys, I think it’s turned out pretty well. Shall tinker with the grime and snow, but overall a pretty good result!
12. Well well well, what have we hear...... This like all of my threads died a bit of a death following the loss of tiny pic, wiping all my pics. Fortunately I had most saved and have restored them on this blog now, for the sake of posterity! Sadly these sons are no closer to finishing, despite me actually doing a whole army of Red 40K Thousand Sons! So I haven't been idle the past 2 years, i've just drifted away from the forum and been working on a lot of Warhammer Fantasy stuff, but it is time to re-boot and upload some progress pieces... somewhat ironically I decided on Space Wolves! The Indomitus release and specifically the Bladeguard veterans gave me something to get a little on board with the whole primaries thing, I like the models but sound the phase 1 and 2 releases a little bland. Getting Assault Marines and veterans made them seem more interesting than the somewhat bland intercessors and hell blasters. I figured there would be a nice opportunity to kit bash and convert, so here we go.... This dude is pretty basic, a few Wolfy bits to add a bit of character - and a mk7 head, I was toying about making them into larger scale original marines, but didn't feel like chopping up too much, perhaps on another project. Tried my hand at a little Wolf Pelt sculpting on this one, nothing too fancy but it was fun to try something new! This was a tad more involved, for what is essentially a Blood Claw Sgt, thought I'd try out sculpting beards and a bit of fur! There has been a bit more progress, the plan is to Wolfyify the Indomitus set!!
