  1. Very solid set of changes so far, and I'm looking forward to trying the new doctrines out.. It seems they are going with the route of removing AP, to make the edition less killy. That being said, I'm curious to see what the new Lion datasheet would look like, because if G-mans aura can be taken by any ADEPTUS ASTARTES I'm having a hard time seeing the Lion beat that. LR's being viable again in competitive, excellent change, loving it - I like the slight nod calling the lascannons godhammer pattern.
  2. Fan-freaking-tastic. They said earlier that the box was delayed in Oz, and then the box decides to be available with no notice before-hand, and then promptly sold out. Premium job, GW, keep it up, really shows where the billions you make in profits goes. Guess I'm waiting another few months until the box becomes available again..
  3. Terminator Captain - eyeing him for a Belial conversion, but a solid model. Although admittedly, nothing we haven't seen before, and Belial might get his own new model soon. Terminator Librarian - as discussed, will be buying that off the bat. Love the model to bits. There are cheeky thoughts to buy two and make the other one a Grey Knight. Apothecary Biologis - LOVE the model. Will definitely be buying one. Although I wonder what role will he play - it mentions he isn't really focused on healing, but more on the realm of science. I think like a chaplain, he might have a rule in the command phase, where he points at a unit he's attached to and has some sort of re-roll against XENOS units while maintaining some sort of FNP? Doubt he'll have the option to get the Chief Apothecary upgrade though mainly for the sciency reasons. I think this will be a very strong unit for Deathwatch for that reason and their anti-xenos synergies with 10th, mark my words. Infernus Squad - look to be OP with how they force a battle-shock rule. Not a fan of the models though. Ballistus Dreadnought - gives me laschicken vibes. Might need to do some kitbashing from the Redemptors or Brutalis to make those legs beefier. Datasheet is solid though, T10 with a 2+ sv? Yes please. Wonder what other weapons it comes with.. could we see the return of the Mortis Dreadnought but primaris-fied? Sternguard Veterans - like the primaris-fied models, although I'm not sure whether DA will get the option to run them in 10th. Although, they do look like nice conversion fodder for DA specific intercessors.
  4. Fairly bummed that all my armies will see their proper codices in a year+ (with no TS/GK timeline), but at least the index gives me some options to play with in the meantime. In theory, if all the current datasheets (both supplement/non supplement) get updated in index, that means the supplements will only have the chapter specific rules. This should be welcome news for balance in competitive play, even with most faction not knowing their new rules.
  5. So you are saying you'd use negative emoji's to fight fire with more fire? Am I reading this right?
  6. Just adding onto this (and I agree with what phandaal says 100%), there seems to be some people that are playing games earlier in this thread, while attempting to convey the message that they never use the emoji's in ways that aren't intended to be. I am not saying everyone does it, but certainly some people here do it. For those people that do - that's what I find (and by association your actions) rude, dismissive, flat out disrespectful, outrageous and blatantly false. In my opinion, if you have a problem with someone, you politely disagree with them, while doing it in a constructive way or you say it to their face - instead of hiding behind emoticons and layers of double talk and obscured meaning. Anyone also notice, that ever since this board message, that this thread has much less "confusion" now that this has been brought to the light? In any other thread the thread would have been littered with the confused emoji's by now. Something tells me Brother Tyler was correct in making this public just by this fact alone.
  7. I think you are missing the forest from the trees here. People use that laughing emoji to actually laugh at people and secondly, rarely as you pointed out use it because it's funny. Then there is the confused emoji - people use IT not to "psuedo-disagree" with an opinion but to laugh at it. I can think of about 10 people off top of my head who do that on a regular basis, and they are STILL allowed to do that with no fear of repercussion. Worse, because the obscurity of intentions (as if there is any, don't make me laugh) they are still allowed to do it and get away with it. Surely as your tenure as a moderator, you can understand that perspective. The issue I have with your statement when you said disciplinary action for misuse is quite above and beyond. Well let me put it to you this way - do you think when people blatantly misuse the emojis, do you think that behaviour, as you put it, above and beyond? Do you think it's acceptable to attack people indirectly for voicing their opinion? Do you think the mods such as yourself like cleaning up after the mess people made constantly, because some people can't get over their ego's? We don't live in a perfect world, and frankly I am both astounded and angry, that you as a former moderator, you argue for the side that directly causes the moderators on the board more headaches. Consider me absolutely shocked.
  8. Still nothing on the Australia front.. *cries silently*
  9. Except the Librarian in TDA has access to both sets of trees, meaning the tome of Malcador grants him one additional ability from a tree he has access to. This was brought up in tournaments over here earlier and the general consensus that even though his main three abilities are from the generic tree (with the build), that tome gives him access to the one from either that tree or the other. I'll have the rest of the response later tomorrow, a few things to take in from your perspective.. although it seems we might be derailing this thread.
  10. That's good enough for me. Hopefully the Lion model isn't going to cost as much as the Boxset by himself. Aus premium taxes yay..
  11. Well well, seems like 10th is going to be a vehicle meta. It has been a long time before we saw Land Raiders hitting the tabletop which is a very very welcome change.
  12. Most of this seems sensible. So far GW are keeping to their word that this edition will be less killier, with the notable exception being the twin linked aggressor gauntlets. Keen to see the other rules, although I note that in this article they didn't include dense cover, does that mean hit modifiers are removed now?
  13. Good to see that specific store we both are talking about are starting to benefit from reality checks instead of trying to spin it off as a commercial success. Did they per chance slip when they will expect to get the single model?
  14. The boxnaughts, over time, have grown on me, and it will be sad to see them go, if true. The Land Speeders not so much, but I hope that Darkshroud and the Vengeance don't follow suit as they are both Land Speeders. Compounding onto the above removals, I hope the contemptor and the leviathans stay, although as they are older and hence rarer canonically, I doubt this. That will sting, again if true.. That being said, this shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone playing this game. We all knew this was inevitable - the firstborn range phased out for the primaris range. This is sadly one of the symptoms of their doom. If this is, I hope primaris get the same amount of customability on their firstborn units that they are replacing, to compensate. Doesn't mean I won't miss playing with firstborn units, but all of this (again if true) was as@Interrogator Stobz pointed out, inevitable.
  15. It depends on what kind of a setting your game will be.. competitive? Casual? Something in between? Then the other scenario is whether you have the models. Personally, imho, I wouldn't run outriders in any scenario, as while they are quite choppy with 7 attacks apiece, in the end it's only D1. If you want melee, consider a DS unit of either terminators or something that can support the Lion. Maybe a RW Champion, or Sammael, if you can protect 5 characters. What was your thought process of including the outriders? Were you planning to launch them at a point and park them? (Not having a go, just curious). Then the Invaders don't have CORE if memory serves, and I'd replace them with an 3m Attack Bike MM squad which does have CORE, does the same thing, are cheaper and you can revive them with the Ravenwing Apothecary. If you plan to run an invader ATV squad, I'd take 3 of them separately, that way your eggs aren't in the one basket and they could net you Engage on all Front points, while controlling a far away objective. Even then I'd probably go with 2 max. In a similar vein - I'd replace one Tornado Squad with a Typhoon Squad which does what the Tornado do but better, as they have MM's and krak/frag missile options which outperform the assault cannon in most scenarios. If they cost more than the Tornado's then you have the extra points from your switch from Invaders/Attack Bikes. Another thing you could do, is replace both of the tornados with regular bike squads, and attach a MM bike to either of them. That way they would have Obsec, CORE and extra durability as you could allocate W to the 4W attack bike, keeping your other three bikes safe. If I was playing in your scenario, I'd have both elements, but the choice is yours. The typhoon's don't have CORE but they have a decent amount of MM equivalent shots and flexibility that you could make a case for taking. Last item. If you are running your bike chaplain as a smash chaplain, kit him out with Mantra of Strength litany. The second litany would either be Canticle (for potentially DS the Lion + other DS elements), Recitation of Focus (+1 to hit, which could go on the attack bikes if you choose to run them). Catechism of Fire with the amount of non-core units you currently have in your list wouldn't' be much use I'm afraid.
