  1. For robes I've seen just bone, bone exterior and red interior, black exterior and red interior, and full red depending on the model, red tends to indicate veterans so if you want him to be a sword brother then incorporate red otherwise just plain bone would be good
  2. WOW has it been a while, with the launch of 9th edition I've begun re-evaluating my Black Templars army and I've come to the conclusion that I want it to be all (or mostly at least) Primaris. To that end I have bought 2 Indomitus boxes and begun turning them into Templars, First up I got the assault Intercessors, all the rank and file guys are just put together but the sword brethren have magnetized power fists and little reliquaries along with chained weapons: Next up got some outriders again the regular guys are just standard (with some BT icons on the bikes) and the sergeants have some knightly looking FW heads and again chained weapons: Also some Bladeguard Vets (again all got the chained weapon treatment) still have 6 of these guys left to build and will probably pick up 3 more to round out a second squad: And finally some HQ units including a Marshal, Castellan, Bike Chaplain and my newest Primaris High Marshal Helbrecht conversion: Here is a Closer look at the Helbrecht Conversion, used mostly the Judicar model as the base, rounding out the tip of the sword and making him a Combi Melta from a spare meltagun and half of a Rhino Stormbolter (they fit together perfectly once i trimmed the gubbins at the back of the SB) also just realized that he needs some chains on his weapons to make him Properly BT so thats the last stage of that: Still got a lot to do INCLUDING painting all of them but with the current state of the world it looks like I got plenty of time till they can hit a table Lemme know what you guys think and if anything needs improving! EDIT: very important, the Helbrecht is a "Counts-as" only, hence the lack of certain specific design elements he really just needed suitably BT iconography and proper weapons so i could use him as such when i wish to run Helbrecht in my list, the same will go for a Grimaldus "counts-as" conversion i have planned, the lore of my list doesn't include these actual characters so i didn't want to include the real heroes in my army but instead have equivalent characters for when tabletop-wise i want to use them
  3. So one of my friends sent me this on our BT discord, emphasized underlines by him; Seems like we're getting a full supplement to ourselves
  4. Sounds like a hell of a good unit
  5. So if our crusader squads are going to be 2W and 18ppm, does that mean crusader squads are now a fairly even trade for primaris marines? Assault intercessors are 19ppm, meaning that for +1 point they get +1 attack but not much else, they lose out on the cheaper transport options and (pending a change to the codex) will only potentially get 1 special melee weapon per squad and no flamers (which will now be range 12"), meltaguns (which will not be +2D at half range), or plasma guns (which now only explode on natural 1s). Overall this is a huge plus for our firstborn brothers and as someone who wants to go heavy into assault this edition, I'm hoping that Assault Intercessors get access to the Veteran Intercessor stratagem just to give them a bonus over our crusader squads.
  6. So I actually didnt make their cloaks from GS I followed a tutorial on this forum to make them from tissue and I gotta say they look pretty ok Haven't painted them yet but I'm confident that they will look good and the conversion work for the arms was not as intensive as you'd think (I think I only had to chop up 2 reiver arms to get them to fit)
  7. Yup, the box has 6 rifles (although one is admittedly slung on a backpack) 3 fusils, and 1 instigator carbine. It also has 10 heads so the only thing you'd really need to add is a cloak to reivers
  8. I actually used 2 squads backed by a devastator squad the other day in a 2k game with my templars, because of their ability to deploy anywhere they actually came in quite handy as I put both of them in hard to reach areas with good fov. Also LPT, the box comes with enough arms to make 9 eliminators (technically 10 with an instigator bolt carbine thrown in) with minimal kitbashing you can use reivers to fill in as bodies and get 3 whole squads out of a single box!
  9. How durable are they now? They're a bit flexible but they're strong, once I prime them I'm sure they'll get more rigid
  10. Not to revive too dead of a topic, but after seeing this I decided to use it for my eliminators made from spare bits from the multipart kit and while it's still very WiP I think they look very good already: To get them to look correct I'm going to gs a smooth transition between the parts of their shoulders that have molded cloak already and probably add some buckles like the regular ones have
  11. Can't believe I haven't posted since last october! With C:SM 2.0 and Faith and Fury out I've decided to re-evaluate my black templars list a bit and I'm going to be diving back into them again, I picked up some incursors and I'm thinking of going with a heavily primaris focused army with some supporting elements of vanilla marines. I actually have a 1k point Frendlies Tournament tomorrow and I'm going to be trying out a whole new comp for my Templar, C&C welcome on my silly list: I also have a progress shot of the fancy bases I'm making for the incursors:
  12. I mean, technically the AdMech were trying to steal their most sacred relic and the CM entered into a ritualistic combat with the "traitor" that was said to have its outcome determined by the emperor himself so maybe the emperor blessed him those spider legs? Also last we heard from them didnt the remaining legion help the IF defeat some rogue dreadnought that was trying to take over the Phalanx?
  13. I dont think I've seen a single post in the thread about that but you may be confused because the character strat gives the dread +1A
  14. So his matchups were Guard, IK soup, and chaos, he went 3-0 and said the first match was easy (wiped the guard to only his basilisk because they were out of LoS) something like 30-8, the other two were much closer hes convinced its strong but not super over powered
  15. The levi was typical storm cannons and iirc all the dreads were dual las and dual autocannon, both commanders were punisher gattling cannons, he said the only hard matchup was someone playing eldar flyer spam, he crushed a guard and a soup knight player easy
