I finished another squad! Here's Assault Squad Traelus, from the 3rd Company. One more squad and I'm halfway done with my Battle Company, hah! http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/096/2/e/assault_squad_traelus_by_allerka-d3cx3yz.jpg

Space Marines? ... Iron hands

Ha ha, that's certainly true. I have two. :D But yeah, some of my more elaborately posed models break in transport on me more often than my more stock-type poses, sometimes just in the process of taking the model out of the tray! It's quite annoying, but, like I said, if you're just playing at home, it shouldn't be much trouble. ;) -

That most definitely looks awesome. However, two minor things come to mind. 1. The bolter barrel looks a bit too wide. If the bolt shells were really that big, his magazine would have two, maybe three rounds in it at the most. :) Obviously that's a fairly minor detail, and would certainly be a lot harder to notice once it's painted. 2. While the pose is awesome and dynamic, based on my own experiences I can't help but feel that's going to be a pain to transport to and from games, as well as suffer from potential breakage during play. Obviously, if this is just going to be a display case that'll never leave your home, then that's not a concern. B) -

To paraphrase a line from Eurotrip, "Wow. You guys are, like, on a TOTALLY different level of modeling from us." :D (In other words, you'd never see a place like that in the US) -

Yep, all of that, practically religiously. Still have had a history of brushes rarely lasting longer than six months. Just part of the deal for me, I guess. :) -

Well, my GW brushes last 3-6 months typically, even if some people insist they can last years (never happens for me). I guess I just expect brushes I spend just under $100 on to not burn out in a matter of weeks on me. ^_^ I'd love to see how you did the lenses, as well. -

Series 7, eh? I've heard lots of recommendations on them. I picked up a batch, but they went bad on me faster than any other brushes I've ever gotten, so I haven't bothered since. Rest of the stuff is looking awesome though, great job on the blood effect. -

Honestly, I think the large one looks fine. How do FW decals compare to the GW ones? I've usually had nothing but problems with GW ones on the shoulderpads, no matter which ones I'm using, even with copious amounts of Micro Sol or Set. Though if that's just a fluke of the GW ones, I wouldn't mind making some for my Chapter to use instead of hand-painting the symbol dozens of times. Though the question becomes how one can print white decals... -

We all get burnout on creative ventures, Argos. Sometimes you recover in a few days, sometimes it takes a couple years to get back (I've gone through multiple phases of it with my Lords of Oblivion, ranging anywhere from weeks to months). But welcome back! So to speak. I can see the one lens on the bolter, the blue one, that's exceptionally well done (I've been working on lenses/gemstones for a while now, can't say I've gotten to quite that level yet). Overall, it looks pretty good. Sometimes all you need is just a change of colors to get the juices flowing again (for me, that means I wind up bouncing between my four armies with vastly different color schemes). Also, shouldn't this technically be in one of the PC&A forums? -
I meant the list of Codex Chapters, sorry. I know they're there and yes, it's retarded they're the only ones that don't get a half-page blurb.
-
Indeed, one could argue that (the earlier the Founding, the better the odds), but it also speaks generically in regards to ALL the fully non-Codex Chapters, whoever they are besides the Wolves and the Templars (Only other GW Chapter that's even remotely non-Codex is the Iron Hands, and, well, they're in that list too).
-
I just noticed the current C:SM actually states, on page 24... Granted, I would think the Space Wolves and the Black Templars would be the Chapters least likely to get wiped out entirely, especially the Templars, but there ya go.

Got my first Dreadnought done! Here's Venerable Dreadnought Nikolai Mal'fas, former commander of the Lords of Oblivion 3rd Company. http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/316/c/f/venerable_dreadnought_nikolai_by_allerka-d32oon7.jpg

You could say that about Horus but that's another story... :P For those who play fantasy Has anybody noticed that there's a Council of Thirteen for the Skaven in Warhammer Fantasy and in 40k, there are 12 High Lords of the Imperium plus the Emperor (ie 13)? Meh. I don't see any correlation besides the similar number, which is hardly significant.

Well, they get away with that by being spread all over the galaxy, so it's not like Helbrecht is directly in charge of all ~6000 at any given moment (and I imagine, even if he said, "Everyone go here!" it'd take years for all the different groups to show up). I assume all the talk of Huron is in regards to the new material in IA:9. It sounds like something I really need to pick up.
