  1. The Terrible Angel incident didn’t occur for at least seven years after the siege so this will have to start with a considerable time skip. If I have to endure a Guy Haley Iron Cage I’m going to commit sudoku.
  2. I have had the notify me alert on for the Warsmith since it first went out of stock and I have never been notified so I am pretty upset I missed it again. I don’t know what else there is to do besides check the store every :cuss hour.
  3. It’s just going to be more contrived “ackchully the guys defending us are just as bad as the traitors” plot mixed in with the bolting on of the Primaris project.
  4. If you had told young me, right after reading Horus Rising, we would one day get a Scouring series and I’d be more wary than excited I would not have believed.
  5. Can’t believe they’ve already replaced their shorter, squatier squat marines with new robo-Primaris marines.
  6. Graham McNeills Castellan Folkert and Venerable Brother Rammius. Was in the white dwarves right after the codex came out.
  7. That’s really it. There have been some banger marine releases and they kept trapping people into combat patrols.
  8. 10th has been an unmitigated financial success. Largest bonus payout ever last year no? What it lacks is replayability.
  9. They’ve gotta learn the hard way like the rest of us.
  10. I complained and preordered everything. I don’t think the edition is dead and I’m glad they’re putting stuff in legacies. If they don’t return the options I will just build my army using the points in the wargear list for things I lost. Hate change. Hate losing thing. Love wargear. Love flavor. Simple as.
  11. Discord rumors, so take with salt, have mentioned the document has been expanded post backlash. You can believe it or not, but given the timetable, I believe it.
  12. Probably took a week to see pre-order impact upstairs. This means everything in the Liber has a kit in the works with the options in the book besides the characters and big planes and super-heavies.
  13. This mental math ends up with three captains of the same tier leading the same group of 40 guys, and there’s no gymnastics around how that makes sense in either black book or black library lore. There’s a clear design break where they intended for centurions to unlock something similar to the old allied FOC (remnants of this exist in the Ultramarine special auxiliary detachment, but that was deemed to restrictive and now you have to hunt for officer of the line spam. Andy loves Epic Space Marine where taking a marine commander gave you an automatic transport pool, each “company” gave you four detachment slots, etc. This has that design language with the clear break where someone said new players won’t understand so they made it a spammy special rule.
  14. Yeh, you’ve got it right, but you intentionally engineered your army to be something like a general line company/spread of legion armies. You’ve also got less vehicles than you’d see in late 1/2 editions. (These aren’t judgements, of course, you’re the best). But something like an Armored Company, Rite of War, or armies for larger games have to do weird nickel and diming with centurions to get multiples of things that used to be one choice. Even something like the Apothecarion detachment that used to be one single slot is now a whole detachment that requires a centurion. So you end up in a situation where Captain Bob is the captain of 80 legionaries or 6 apothecaries. It flubs the narrative aspect. Or my personal pet peeve right now, if you run an armored company you have to take 3 centurions and they either need a whole detachment to ride in a rhino or they just hang out at the back of the board like the old Emperor’s champion did in Templar Drop Pod lists
  15. It is not as permissive as all this. You need three Centurions specifically to unlock six detachments. You need to maximize your Prime Slots as much as possible to work Dreadnaughts in or you waste a whole detachment on them. If you use the Ultramarine Legion special detachment (Primus Demi-Company) for all six auxiliary choices you have a total of 9 Prime Slotes, 8 of which can be used to take Logistical Benefit (2 Prime Slots from the Primary Detachment, 6 from the Demi-Company, and 1 from Apex). Army building has been polluted in such a way you will need a massive number of tactical squads or characters to build anything remotely resembling an old FOC in spite of luring you in with a more permissive attitude. There is also no direct connection to the commander taken and the detachment they unlock which is, narratively, total horse poop.
