There two really good examples of IPs showing the indomitability of the human spirit with vastly different tones released this year. You have Andor, which exists in a universe of magic wizards and super humans, really illustrating the grind living under and managing a galactic empire with a delicious spectrum of human emotion and character arcs that exist in that system. Then you have Superman with the Hope core “be nice” message. If you added Superman to Andor it would mix like motor oil and coke. Same thing with 40K. Adding in a good guy would stick out like a sore thumb.

I enjoyed the journal and the prime benefit, battlefield assets, and augury squad/super whirlwind aren’t bad.

I can’t tell if you are trolling or what but that quote is exactly what you are saying doesn’t exist. “Do the ends justify the means” is a critique of utilitarianism. That conflict between duty and immorality is the core of why there are no good guys. That is because all factions are bad. Every faction is the bad guys. The creators have said this. The current staff have said this. There is nothing you can pull from the lore that refutes the stated intention of the authors.

That’s quite literally impossible in the context of their own lore. More ships were lost during the Heresy than the Imperium can command in 40K. More titans died on Beta-Garmon than are functional across all of the Titan Legions now. That’s straight from an interview with Andy.

A deontological argument for the inherent moral correctness of the Imperium would also require the Imperium to not do immoral things like lobotimize the poor. You don’t even understand the origin of your argument. Frodo MUST take the ring at great personal cost. Luke MUST reject killing the Emperor. Horatius DID NOT retreat.

He’s making the argument can’t be bad because it provides a good (the survival of a race) by performing subjectively bad acts, and that makes it ultimately good. It’s a utilitarian/ends justify the means argument.

You guys are arguing with someone that refuses to acknowledge the ancient and immutable reason governments have existed from hunter gatherer societies until now and in some studies shows up in animal communities! You can’t squeeze blood from a stone.

When does this hit stores

Veteran Breachers let you make some flavorful units from the novels, like the Stormwing Assault Squads, Triarii, and Evocatus squads. Some of the returned units are ok and some are really good. Imperial Fists still didn’t get their Terminator Assault Cannons, which looks more like another GW :cuss up since it’s written like the Assault Cannon is an option in the Liber like in the BA section. While some things like all autocannon Tartaros are rad this document gives me a really bad feeling. We know they added stuff in, and I don’t think they added stuff in out of the kindness of their hearts. I think this was a middle finger of “fine have your stuff back” and they will take it out on us later.
