I was always fascinated by the art in the Collected Visions book. The Center pic with the meeting of the traitors especially. I had planned to create the scene as a diorama. All I got around to was the Red Angel. School, moving, and life got in the way and the project simply fell by the wayside. Amazing work from everyone here. Ideas taken from the fluff and made real then shared to provide inspiration - what more could one ask for in a hobby?

I did mine with a pinvise and two small drill bits. The trick is to drill at different angles and different depths around a "center" damage point. Hope that makes sense.

I just read that Cyborg Angel was a new film set for release next year. I should have remembered Alita, as I started painting her models the same time I found 40K (early 2nd edition). After Ghost in the Shell and Bladerunner:2049 I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst :)

The film Blood of Heroes could be argued to be more "Blood Bowl" than Necromunda. The living in the dead wastes and fighting for a chance to live among the cities always screamed "hiveworld" to me. Along with Mad Max 1&2 and Blade Runner it is my top inspirational movie for the 40k setting as a whole (especially necromunda). *even though mentioning it gives away my old age LoL

I got some work done on my main Commander and my "new" Commander. I envision a split force of all Marines Malevolent shortly after the Ultima founding and suffering a schism in regards to the Primaris Marines. I'd say they are a mix of the Swiss Gaurd (looks), Hikanatoi (prowess), and janissary (recruitment). I love the historical references to 30k/40k myself and especially when they blend periods.

Just to expand your horizons Brother those "interlocking studs" are called track links* (and there a #%$%$ to change in three feet of mud). I'm looking forward to another inspirational piece of armor from ya! *They are an approximate representation of track links

Way back when, I followed your Ultra Marine thread, and although I hated everything about the Smurfs you brought them to life. After almost a year away from the hobby I return and changed from Space Wolves to Iron Warriors to get my legs back under me. Imagine my complete delight and anguish to see you also doing the IW. Delight in that I would have a never ending source of inspiration from which to draw, and anguish in that here is a level I cannot hope to achieve, That is OK though, I would far prefer to have these amazing miniatures that you produce to serve as an inspiration to mine and other's hobby, than to worry about mine own ego over said hobby (after all, I still enjoy painting at my level as much as you enjoy painting at yours). ah, OK, disregard what I said about the face then LoL. I was thinking it may have been overpainting from the armor. He is coming along great overall and that skull on the front should really make him "pop"

I always love your greys and the cape turned out very nice. Loving the "Walknot" (anglicized spelling I know). I not completely sold on the face though, it seems to blend into the armor a bit too much. Maybe i'm missing something and you haven't started working on the that yet. If so please forgive me and chalk it up to brain damage :) . I remember the flesh tones were done previously and were fantastic. Perhaps the "woad" on the face could be toned to a lighter color?
