  1. Hagga: Rykaz frowned. Dishonourable methods, but he wasn't a Templar, wherever his helm might have come from. When it came to strategy, the Executioners trained pragmatists. He didn't have to like it as long as it worked. Keep telling yourself that, fool. Maybe you'll convince yourself… “Whatever we do, we should do it soon. Their forces are spread out all over. If they were all buttoned up tight behind those walls, I'd say drop quietly out in the wilds and spend a month or two whittling down their patrols. But as it is they've given us an opening to make a real raid of it. Attack, take what we want, and get out again before they can gather.” “Have our allies step up their diversions, pull as many of the loyalists out of the city as possible. Then, I agree, hit the Astropaths, cut their lines of communication. Then the water. Make it look like an accident, pull them out from their nests. But you're forgetting something.” He frowned, looked down at the map, and pointed to the imposing bulk of the Arbites bastion. “Arbitrator forts always have their own dedicated Astropaths - in case the locals turn traitor. As soon as they realise what's happening, they'll call for help. Not to mention that place will be a rally point for the whole defence. It needs to die. Sooner rather than later.”
  2. I'm making assumptions (hopefully logical ones) based on the map, but it seems clear that the Sororitas are far fewer in number than the Arbites, right? The Cathedrum+Shrine is tiny by comparison to the Bastion? Do we have approximate numbers for the Imperial forces? Sororitas, Arbites, PDF? Again I'm guessing, but I assume it's an inverse ratio of individual quality vs numbers?
  3. Well, as usual, I'd say Khorne is probably going to be most useful for the Astartes characters, and maybe not terrible for the mortals either, should they get in a fight (definitely a possibility) …but I'm conscious we've gone that way several times already? Tzeentch or Slaanesh might be more valuable for the infiltrators? Nurgle is… honestly not great. +5T doesn't make a lot of difference, unless maybe it pushes you over a TB increase (even then it's only +1TB, though?) But I'm sure Varne would appreciate a +1 Nurgle to his Alignment total! Or just leave it this time? You lose out on a bit of Inf, but you don't take as much Corruption either?
  4. Ooo, I hate to say it but if they're Rare, my roll would have failed on that one, -10 rather than +/-0...?
  5. Almost forgot that! Hagga will attempt to Acq some extra ammo for the Astartes. This is more for our FOB in case we need to resupply, Hagga has enough on his belt to start with? I might just try for a single Clip of Hellfire to try and improve my odds? Also, looking at ammo, I might try to get some high grade promethium for Eska's flamer (her fiery breath is becoming more potent!) Bolter Clips: I'm not actually sure on the Rarity for that, the special Bolt ammo is Very Rare, but ‘standard’ Rounds aren’t listed at all. Anyway, I figure they're at least a step or 2 easier than special ones? Inf47 +0(Scarce?) -10(5-10 Clips) = 37, Roll: 32, Pass! 1 Clip Hellfire Ammo: Inf47 -20(Very Rare) +10(Single Clip) = 37, Roll: 81, Fail! 1 Clip High Grade Promethium: Inf47 -0(Scarce) +10(Single Clip) = 57, Roll: 43, Pass!
  6. Very nice map! I'm assuming from what I can see that it is sort of Babylon-esque in the sense that it has a canal/moat dug from the river around the city (and the Arbites bastion too?) Could pull a Cyrus and divert the river...? And the landing fields are the green bit next to the bastion...? Fortuitous that it's so close...
  7. Emphasis mine. Ah, I think that's where we're getting crossed wires? I'm not suggesting we hit the same building that the sneaky types will then go into? Maybe we find another worthwhile target in Harville, but on the opposite side of town, to smash the hauler into, thereby drawing responders (and probably some military and/or investigators) away from the Astropathic Relay, making life easier for Obadiah and co? Possibly it depends on the map of Harville, will we have that for Wednesday?
  8. Not a terrible idea, but I thought we wanted to loot stuff from Harville. Presumably dropping a bulk hauler from orbit or beyond would turn most of the town into a crater, hence why I thought bring it in closer and just take out 1 building with it?
  9. I agree completely about not being loud, that's why I'd make the crash look like an accident? Then everyone is super busy dealing with the aftermath of the 'disaster', but they don't realise the attack has started already. Then the infiltration team could hit a second target (throat slitting style) while their attention is diverted? But if people think that would be too hard to get aboard the incoming hauler quietly and fake the crash, then I'm cool with just going with the stealth attack.
  10. Is there a reason not to do both? I wonder, if we could insert quietly onto a bulk shuttle that was on it's way back towards the surface. Remove the crew, set up a remote link for controls and vox, fly it as close as we can to the Astropath tower, before it suddenly reports they 'have an engine malfunction' and 'crash' into the tower. If it seems like an accident, we don't have to go loud immediately, but it would create mass confusion in Harville where a second team of infiltrators (previously inserted aboard the Wasp) could be in place to hit another target?
  11. I was slightly hoping they might have moved on? It was what, a Lunar class? Which is a pretty big investment for a minor system like Bounty, and after a quiet week or 2, they might be continuing their patrol or whatever? Guess we'll see! Agree on doing something to knock out Comms/Astropaths asap, though. Stealth insertion for Obadiah (and Tarh), link up with the insurgents on the ground, maybe take the demo charges with them?
  12. Just to be clear, is all Acq happening via Crux'as, or was that just to set things up? I'd say if we can score a bit of regular Bolt ammo to store at the FOB for resupply that might be worth having? We do have 130 Rounds (about 5 spare Clips worth) in the group inventory already, plus whatever we are individually carrying - Hagga has 3 Clips on his belt so he's good to start with? Re the Hellfire Rounds, so there are 3 Clips available to Acq in total? What is the Acq roll for that please GM? I'm not 100% clear on where we are with the mods at this point... And re the Starhawk, if we've still got time for them to do the work, I'd rather wait and not have it immediately, over having it straight away but Poor Quality? Edit: By the way, am I reading the Hellfire vs Metal Storm correctly? Both are Very Rare Metal Storm loses 2 Dam and Pen, but gains Blast(2) (or 2 Hits on a Horde for each Hit) Hellfire gains Tox(3), ZH on 9 or 10, and each Hit does an extra 1 Mag Dam against Hordes (so better than 2 Hits on a Horde per Hit, as the Hellfire basically autoWounds?) Why would you ever take Metal Storm..?
  13. I don't think Hagga will need much... ammo is probably ok, though i suppose I could try again for a clip of Hellfire? Is that more available in an Imperial setting? I know it was mentioned before that the Starhawk bomber might make a decent drop/gun ship, did we progress that? Was it a lot of work needed to make it usable?
  14. Hmm, I fear we might have to throw Kraggan under the bus to Strabo... give him the truth, explain to him that all of the issues are Kraggan's fault, and he has been dealt with, and it won't be an issue again? And hope he doesn't ask us to guarantee that by making it... permanent...
  15. Nah, if it is who we think it is, that guy's a way worse renegade than any of us...
