  1. Elvrit: Elvrit held up one armoured gauntlet to forestall the Trader. “One final question. Do you have any information as to what has been happening at Astess?”
  2. It seemed to me that there is quite a few people looking for games but there aren't slots available? A few have in particular mentioned Black Crusade. Assuming Blackest Heart isn't restarting any time soon, so... I'm not promising anything, but I did have an idea strike me... what about a BC game that starts on Terra at the end of the HH/start of the Scouring era. Players would be Traitor Legion troops just trying to find a ship and get the hell out? Sort of a counterpoint to Black Cohort's Isstvan game? Has anyone ever done anything like that?
  3. Hey IFF, you might want to have a look at the Nook, it's currently the place on the board for games. To be honest, I don't think there are any games recruiting at the moment, but any that do start up will probably have a thread started in the Club for advertising for players, so if you keep an eye out there you'll be aware of anything new? As to BC, we do have 1 game currently running (but on hiatus while other games are being played), I don't know if there is any room for new players if and when that kicks back off...?
  4. Hmm, I think I'd put Hierax on driving (best Ag by a fair margin), and Uldyssian in the co-pilot's seat to run any of the extra systems. I think maybe Nolites should take the Storm Bolter spot? Tacman gets Bolter Mastery, so the +10 will put his BaS higher than either of the Devs, and the +2 Dam is a wash with their Mighty Shot. Plus the Devs wouldn't get Unrelenting Devastation as the SB isn't a heavy weapon. Incario and Kurkov could hang around in the rear of the Rhino - as far as I'm aware the big top hatch allows up to 2 occupants to fire out, so that might be a good place for the big guns - sort of giving us a Razorback without losing transport capacity?
  5. I'll throw Incario's hat in the ring for it. He's got Fel47 and as an Ultramarine (build) he adds +1 for Favoured Son = 5CP base. As a Dev, doesn't have Command Skill yet, but again that will be an option (as will +10, +20) if/when we earn any XP. However, one of the Tac Marines may be better suited?
  6. Am I right in remembering that we are currently SE from the Hive where Herman is? So the Mechanicus base is heading in the right direction to go towards the Hive? That might be a good place to get supplies? And are we simplifying the amount of fuel by available range and assuming that the Rhino is (at least) as fuel efficient as the Bikes? I.e. if both Bikes contribute 60km of their available range, it gives the Rhino 120km, which is enough to reach any of the possible targets? Edit: re Driver, I assume it makes most sense for the Bikers to stay on their Bikes, and one of the footsloggers to drive? Has anyone got Drive +10? Otherwise I guess it's just highest Ag? (Incario has 50, but I'd guess others might have better?)
  7. Little update to this, I'm very much considering a switch to the new Grotmas 'Saga of the Great Wolf Detachment C: SW - Saga of the Great Wolf Logan 110 (Joins WGTDA) WGTDA x5 170 Relic Greataxe 3 x Power Weapon and Storm Shield 1 x Assault Cannon and Power Fist WGBL 65 Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield With Skjald’s Foretelling 25 (Joins Headtakers) Headtakers x6 170 Power Weapons and Storm Shields Wolf Priest 70 (Joins GH1) Grey Hunters 1 165 Sgt with Power Fist, Plasma Pistol Njal Stormcaller 85 (Joins GH2) Grey Hunters 2 165 Sgt with Power Sword, Bolt Carbine Bjorn FH 160 Iron Priest 55 (Accompanies Bjorn) Iron Priest 55 With Chariots of the Storm 25 (Accompanies Lancer/Predator) Wolf Scouts 105 1 with Plasma Gun 1 with Haywire Mine 1 with Runic Stave Fenrisian Wolves x5 40 (C: SM) Gladiator Lancer 160 Deimos Predator Annihilator 135 Sponson Lascannons Devastator Squad with Missile Launchers 120 Hellblasters x5 110 Not huge changes to the above, but swapped Enhancements for the new Detachment - Lance on the WGBL is great, and swapped him to lead the Headtakers. Redeployment shenanigans are very useful too! Also swapped the Desolators (just too expensive) for a Devastator Squad. The 80pts saved, plus some points drops in MFM goes a long way towards paying for a squad of Veteran Infiltrators (Wolf Scouts) Anyway, C+C always welcome!
  8. Yep, it's doable. I think pretty much all the left pads and arms on the Infernus sprue are one piece, so it's just a case of taking a sharp knife and cutting away the pad until you've got down to the usual shape of the upper section of a separate arm. Turn the arm upside down and start cutting downwards under the corners and edge of the pad so you don't accidentally lose any detail from the elbow area. Other than that, it doesn't even need to be perfect, once the new pad is glued on top you won't see any rough bits!
  9. Welcome @Aknoby! There are a couple of games midway through playing at the moment, which might not be the easiest to join. But I think @Mazer Rackham might have had a couple of people drop out of his Armageddon setting game, and we are just starting that one, so that might be worth asking about? I can see you're new to the B+C, are you familiar with the FFG 40k games? (No problem if not, but obviously it does help!)
  10. Incario: Incario listened curiously to the Deathwatch Marine. “How did you survive the second attack, Brother Leyuun? Why didn't the Orks kill you and loot the Rhino?” He frowned. “...and how could the Orks know exactly where and when to find you? Did they have scouts or spotters out - which does not seem like typical Ork behaviour to me - or were you somehow betrayed? Who knew your plans?”
  11. I assume the 3 targets mentioned are the 3 Orks described in the Character Data thread? And maybe I'm being stupid but I'm not quite clear on the order of things. Am I right in saying: They left (whatever Imperial base they started from) in the Rhino. Parked up the Rhino as the ERV Moved onwards to the LUP 3 days ago, but they were immediately attacked, overwhelmed, and forced to fall back to the ERV The Orks followed, killed most of them, and left again Which is where we come in, right?
  12. Incario: The Celebrant was just finishing, patting down the last shovel load of sand, when he heard the Watch Marine over the vox. He looked out across the empty dunes, and grinned. Should have run out into the desert while you had the chance… He joked with himself, of course. Though he was unsure about working with the Inquisition, to serve with the Deathwatch would be a great privilege, even on a temporary basis. More importantly, such service would undoubtedly bring more opportunities to destroy the hated greenskins. Incario would never turn down such a pleasing prospect.
  13. Elvrit: Elvrit nodded at the Trader's words, then spoke softly, absently, a lesser part of his mind picturing a map of the worlds of Man. “From Isstvan… to Lucius… to Cypra Mundi… to Terra. Your path already leads southwards toward the Sol system. We simply ask that you spread the truth as you go. The more times Horus’ treachery is spoken of and exposed, the sooner that news will reach Terra, and the more worlds that will unite against the Warmaster's advance.” However, most of his attention was focused on examining the instrument of death in the first case. Short ranged weapon. Pistol grip. Safety mechanism. Energy based, not solid ammunition. Likely superior efficiency to a bolt pistol in terms of number of shots available before reload. Destructive potential? Difficult to know without further testing. Then Ashmon asked the Magos for his wisdom, and Elvrit paused to listen.
  14. Love the premise! NL are definitely one of the Legions I'd describe as less Chaos-y. I'm curious about how they view their Warp Talons, though. How are they viewed in the light of the ban of daemonic influence? Are they shunned but too useful to cast out? Or members of the warband influenced/corrupted by the Word Bearers? Or are they just the veteran warriors of the warband and not warp-touched any more than the rest?
  15. Fair enough. Well, who wants the gear then? Elvrit won't want the plasma blade - if it's comparable to a power sword, he's already got Hvass. The Ion Pistol is potentially more interesting. Elvrit isn't particularly amazing at shooting, but he does have TWW:M+B, so a decent pistol could mean a decent extra Attack in Melee? I'm not really fussed if someone else has a better claim to it, though.
