Got my LE! Crazy how fast this sold out considering the hardback with one third of price tag is out at the same time.

How would you recommend getting those assault cannons? Any hood 3D models or does anyone know compatible gw bits?

What do you think would be the best BA loadout for Comtemptor? I already have the old mono-pose dread with Kheres Assault Cannon and considering if I should build the new dread geared for close combat, perhaps with two fists and havoc launcher. But while it sounds cool, it is quite a point sink for one additional attack on close combat..

Thanks, been working on this one for a while. I feel GiF is the weakest of the opening trilogy (still recommended though!) and in many ways book 4 shows the main plot points about Isstvan III. Can't have all of them starred Make me change my mind! You know what, the connection should be from The Lost and the Damned . There is a certain Fists Captain that plays a major (central in fact) role in The Beast Arises series.

Here is something I've made that might help you. Not saying it's the best timeline out there, but I find this an easier to follow and more informative format than most. Follow the strong red line up-to-down, stopping to absorb recommended pieces in left-to-right order. Feel free to skip some of the non-starred ones if you have no interest in specific factions, or alternatively have a go on the non-essential related works connected via faint red line or go grazy and read related books from outside HH context connected with dashed lines. Feel free to point out corrections and let me know if you disagree with some recommendations.

While I have not read the book, I believe it takes place between Devastation of Baal and Darkness in the Blood.

Just finished it. Overall pretty good book, though this time the events seem so central I'm a bit puzzled as to why it is not part of the main series. Also, the end scene with Alivia was a bit weird. Might be my non-native English. Anyone want to contribute your understanding of what exactly happened there?

Do you think inferno pistols are any good for assault squads? I’m thinking if melee weapons are covered by legion specific units, it might make sense to use assault squads as anti-tank units capable of also assisting heavy hitting units in combat. I’m building a squad of 10 and was thinking going with thunder hammer for sergeant and two marines with inferno pistols. With DOR this would be dropped near the enemy with first turn melta attacks and second turn charge. If forced to attack an infantry squad, the TH of course suffers from attacking last, but this can be mitigated by using the unit with Sanguinius or another unit of command squad / dawnbreaker squad to handle challenges. Any opinions?
