Mazer Rackham's Achievements

  1. Location: Warp Duct #01104-Ordinal-Sigma/Eight - Jump Underway PSYDUCT/Held: Carthage-Umbra Terminus, Galleo Astropathic Duct Bethor/Ferrox-990/3. Date: Damocles Orbit +3 Weeks, 3 Days. A plunge into the Warp once again sets the teeth on edge, and presses the souls deeper inside the body of the ship, in turn sequestered within walls of prayer and barely whispered fear. The silent racks of slumbering Murder Servitors stand in serried order as the Machine Priests move amongst them, once more counting, re-consecrating their purpose to the defence of this ship, their home, making sure the new Idents are exloaded to each cortex which may be deployed to a fray on board. It wouldn't do to have the new passengers sliced apart by the Mechanicum's barely-thinking killers. There was a peace in that binharic, a purpose of singular devotion to the art of death - the removal of unnecessary flesh within the organs of the ship a mere serendipitous liberation from weak shackles. In such revelation, they almost do not report the dead Rating found there, cut to ribbons. The mortal crew seem to cluster, huddled in the safe parts of the ship, the servant quarters, the galleys, the unofficially expanded bilges all hoarding contraband or visiting the ship's small chapel. The odd menial attends the medicae centre, with a burn from a welding torch, or cuts from Wardroom Steel. The mood is almost brooding, sullen. The warp oppresses all. The Captain has taken to his quarters ripe with drink, and violence has been heard from within. Armsmen, hand-picked by de Brae stand without the Captain's spacious rooms, grimly staring. Both carry power axes and bolt pistols, wrapped in the hard armour of void-soldiers. The maproom and libraries are occasioned by serfs and the smell of vellum and ancient ink. The soft rasps of huge pages announces the study underway. The Astropathic choir, and the chambers which they are ensconced are invisible without, but within the sounds of admonitions of the darkness and praise of the light, heat the hearth of the crew's hope for a safe passage. GM OOC: Basically a background post to get us moving again, but obviously to allow the Players to wander about before translation in the Demeter system. Feel free to interact or make nuisance (not too much, because you, know getting spaced is bad for the soul) or to pursue paths or interesting plots points.
  2. Sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of my sniper bazooka.
  3. Makes sense. Have edited the post accordingly (removed conceal etc). Yep, that's fine, cheers.
  4. Azadth: Laying down the launcher and once again handling his modified Tigris, Azadth would have preferred to take his time and line up the shot, but any planned or deliberate action had been cast to the wind long ago. He gauged distance and windage with the augurs in the keen, conical beak of his helmet, so much easier than in the Valley of Nine Winds, yet still challenging due to distance. Actions:
  5. Not a problem. Elite Advances allow you to purchase Talents outside your spec, which exist on other trees. In fact - it's one of the reasons so many Talents are duplicated on the Specialty pages/tables - it's to cost it for the GM for Elite Advances. For example: If I wanted to purchase Exotic Weapon Training, (Dev Rank 1) I could, but I would need a good reason for doing so, like I had been fighting Eldar Pirates (which Azadth has...) and so he has learned how to use Splinter Rifles. The GM may consider this, and then say 'Ok, that is a good reason, I will charge you 1,500xp.' Or, if your reason is toffee, he says go suck a lemon. Elite Advances are a GM privilege thing, not a rule, so you need some kind words to go with your baseball bat.
  6. That's true, but it is Rank 1 for assault marines, which means you could petition the GM to take it as an Elite Advance at the base cost of 750xp, plus whatever he wants to gouge you for it... EDIT: Which reminds me......
  7. "And lo, great was the lamenting at the chapter-keep from whence Sword Brother Gerhardt trained and sallied forth, for his end, whilst brave was also ignominious, since he was bested by an ammo grot, who, strapping a miniature nuclear weapon to it's head, leapt up, and in squeaky (and faintly Glaswegian), Orkish tongue was given the last words of Gerhardt's life." "BANZAI, YA GIT!"
  8. I collect and exclusively use Chessex Dice. I love their Gemini range, the Blue/Red/Gold (for my Crimson Fists) and Blue/Slate/White (for my Space Wolves) are beautiful. I have Phantom, Gemini, and Frosted, all for different armies. The D6's come in 12mm and 16mm, and I have matching sets for D6/D10/Poly.
  9. I think so, but I don't know if that only applies to 'Thrown' and not fired... EDIT: Yep only Scatters if 'Thrown'. Fired is ok, just a miss.
  10. Nice shooting @Trokair! EDIT: NInja'd by the wily GM coyote - but they're Grenades, not missiles, so 5 Hits a piece, but no Devastating. Orks with a side order of Kaboom!
  11. MG has done good work in figuring them out, but I wanted to do the Lore Check to see how many times Gobby and Inquisitor Kine have been 'in the same room' if you catch my meaning... Say it ain't so!
  12. My Admiral Ackbar Detector is blinking. I agree. We kill them both. Can never be too sure.
  13. You do have a 30mm one-use grenade launcher, bud - with a good SAB, you could land 15 Hits on one of those Hordes with 3 x Frag Grenades.... On the Glyphs, I'll have a try on Forbidden Lore: Xenos.
