    I've gone with bone Bladeguard and green Sternguard. Vanguard (when released) will be green too. My reasoning is basically following GW's lead with Bladeguard and getting impatient and deciding on the Sternguard myself :)

    I G8Keeper heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint: Lion El'Jonson 5 Sternguard 3 Inner Circle Companions 5 Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs for 23 pts for the Glory of the Dark Angels and the Astartes Stronghold on or before September 15th, or bear the badge of failure until year's end.

    At least these updates have made me excited to try him out. Just got to paint him first...

    Ravenwing Command squads attached to a 6 man Outrider squad do some serious mileage already. With the -1 to wound they become pretty tasty, expecially with it meaning your Appthecary gets more chance to bring back a model before the unit dies. Couple this with the Ravenwing/shooty strength strats and you have some good mobility, good resilience and very good damage potential (especially the champion).

    I'm considering pledging the Lion and buddies (not sure which buddies yet) for this, been away from posting etc for a good while now, it seems like a decent way to get me going again.

    Not too bad thanks! Still grinding away at my own 1st collection. The Lion in both 30k and 40k settings is looming large on my painting desk. One day I'll update my log, just so much to put in there though. I haven't played a game of LI yet, I'll have to change that.

    I've found it's pot luck when you receive it, usually after you've received the item in question. The legal ambiguity comes in that you are apparently supposed to opt in to these things rather than out. Inertia selling is the term I think, which is illegal.

    Also be informed when subbing that Hachette will send you extras like art books and expect payment in addition to the sub cost, I've heard this is potentially an illegal practice but admit I don't know myself.

    I'm interested how Vanguard and Sternguard Veteran squads will be incorporated into the chapter organisation. Who knows, maybe they'll replace company vets?
