Brother Argent's Achievements

  1. I joined back in 2008 and the B&C was and is the only online site (other then the Bioware site during the Neverwinter Nights hay day) I have ever really been a part of. For most of my earliest years I dwelled in the Liber as I was ashamed of sharing my actual painted stuff and as I had a very limited hobby budget the B&C and writing in the Liber was my only real easy outlet for the hobby. It doesn't feel like I have been on the site for sixteen years and I know I don't get to the Liber at all these days but the Bolter and Chainsword remains my home on the net. I've had a few months away from the hobby here and there but even then I would keep an eye on the site. And with the recent death of my hobby mojo due to, well... events, it is the community here on the B&C that has kept me interested and starting to paint, albeit slow. So in short, thank you to the amazing website and its amazing admin team and moderatii whom have formed the core spirit of my hobby interest this past nearly 20 years. I doubt there would be a Brother Argent (or Silver Phoenix/SP as I was in the day) or Argent Forge without you all.
  2. Well.... what can I say? I'm trying to get the mojo back. Its a struggle but I am trying. I, Brother Argent, vow to paint 1x Outrider of the Interdictors for the month of April. I am starting small. And with Imperium. Trying to get back into the swing of it. Its been painful. And difficult. I basically have no usable brushes bar a couple. I have salvaged a lot of my paints and replaced a few that I can't, I am also looking into designing a new desk/hobby space to build to upgrade and secure my hobby stuff. I think that's the main killer at the moment, the amount I need to do just to get out my paints etc to get started painting. Still, with luck I will come back stronger and more committed then before.
  3. Brother Argent's gallery for all models completed for the 2024 12MoH
  4. And just when I had promised to myself to take a step back from painting. Or at the very least a step back from over the top painting commitments...
  5. Looking good guys. I promise an update is coming. Things just aren't entirely going to plan in RL world but have faith. I hope to get an update, signatures and a proper run down (so far) of how the March went by weeks end.
  6. Its almost like you read my mind with doing this...
  7. Yes. You do. Keep the good work guys. Today's update is a bust but I am working on some signatures for those interested. Really impressed with every ones work and I may look at making this an annual thing. Maybe with a bit more prep for myself next year.
  8. Welp.... I failed... Horribly. I'll get up a failed and a complete signature tomorrow. Its been a rough few days with the mother in law visiting and things have been... interesting... Great job to the guys that have finished. I'll do a proper event update tomorrow hopefully.
  9. Sorry I have been absent. Lets just say I have been dealing with... life... But I got one of my guardsmen squads done. Or at least as done as they are going to be for now. Now, to assemble, base and paint another 18 infantry and three small vehicles in six days... with family coming over. And Fire Brigade commitments.... Yep... doubt that is going to happen. I am looking down the barrel of a stubborn.... Good news is a heap of my Imperium stuff has arrived so I can get back into that once this is over.
  10. Well... what a month so far. I started with such high hopes and procrastination and the two disheartening episode with my kids leading to the destruction of a large number of my paints and almost all my brushes has well and truly shot me down. It was always a mad dream to get all this stuff done. But madness is where I relish and thrive. Despite everything I am still trying. I am officially one guardsman squad done: Colours are still not showing properly. The shirt/jacket is a much lighter green then the pants but, eh. I am happy enough with them. In the interest of possibly achieving something I have decided to drop the 1% for now. That is to say heat staining, transfers, little lights etc. I am pushing through to get what I can done done. I am currently pushing through on assembly but family commitments etc have meant I have still not got everything done. Still, at least if I have everything assembled I can get that game in at the end of the month. @TheArtilleryman Dude... that is amazing. I don't understand how people can paint such fine details on such big models. If you can get all your stuff to that level by months end, I'd consider it a win. Keep up the awesome work mate. @The Praetorian of Inwit Only painting since January and you are consistently pulling of a solid yellow, thats some great work their mate. The fact that it is real marines (non of this primaris garbage) makes it even better. Every model is a chance to improve and with that dedication mate you will go far. @Dwango That base is impressive mate. In fact I don't think impressive does it justice. I'd almost go so far to say it is epic. Keep it going. So to everyone pushing along here just remember what I needed to remind myself: " A man isn't defeated when he looses, he is defeated when he gives up,"
  11. That terminator chaplain is by far the best space marine model ever. The newest larger scale one is absolute garbage in comparison. And that paint job you have pulled off their mate just sells it. But thats what I would expect from you mate. And those possessed... wow... what more can I say. Keep up the good work guys. Its great to see what you are all getting done.
  12. Well... after my youngest son was left unsupervised by my darling wife on two occasions it seems I am not likely to get my own challenge done. As he has mostly destroyed all my paint brushes and a large number of my paints, including several brand new unopened ones. Whilst my models themselves are safe the fact that I now have close to $100 dollars of over priced paint all over my desk and keyboard and most of my brand new brushes are likely ruined I am some what struggling with motivation to paint at this point. The fact it was let happen a second time is also kind of frustrating. And I can't easily store the paints anywhere else at this point to avoid it happening again. I am honestly to the point of giving up with the hobby. At least for a few years. Or giving up on the wife and kids.... thats always an option too...
  13. @Montuhotep You have my deepest sympathies mate. Real Life can be a bugger sometimes. As Firedrake said look after yourself and your family. We will still be here. If you feel like having another crack at it before months end I am happy to give you a reset on the 31 days.
  14. I would say " Wow Dwango thats a fair bit more then 500 pts, are you sure you can get it done?" but I have seen your previous efforts in the Call to Arms and everything. Welcome to the March mate.
  15. Welcome to the March Praetorian. Will be good to see some first born (a.k.a Real Marines). And will be good to see some Fists too. Yellow is always a striking colour to see well done.
