  1. I like the banner @Rusted Boltgun! The hand-drawn feel really adds to the overall atmosphere of 40k; I've often thought there should be more in-universe artworks in different styles. Well done!
  2. I think I've got a reasonably quick scheme figured out for my White Scars:
  3. Brother Casman's beginnings with the Vth Legion in the Horus Heresy.
  4. Dipping my toes into the Horus Heresy setting with some White Scars - got my first tactical squad assembled. Couple of angles on the sergeant - he's got a topknot from Archie's Forge, and a "Guan Dao" from Pop goes the Monkey:
  5. Smash Captain, eh? Another Marine classic reinvented for the modern era, haha
  6. Ah, of course - after all, the line can only go up.
  7. I've noticed that the Thought for the Day seems to be stuck on "Don't forget to drink your Ovaltine" for a while now; does something need to be reset?
  8. Well, there's always solo wargaming - I've picked up this ebook to read through: Solo Wargaming (@ Pen and Sword) I recognize it's not a perfect solution for everyone, you need two armies and the space to set them up, etc, but with a blog space here, you could explore HH 2nd Edition and share your adventures with folks online. Maybe something to think about?
  9. I like the shackles - can't risk these enforcers popping off!
  10. Ok, let me see if I have this straight. There's "Total War" the brand and "Total War" the game engine. Does 40k fit in "Total War" the brand? Yes, absolutely - 40k is, in essence, a futuristic total war (note the lower case, I'm referring to the actual state of warfare). Will 40k work in "Total War" the game engine? No, not at present - 40k is not Napoleonic warfare. The engine would have to change in order to accommodate 40k's differences. Bit of a Ship of Theseus debate, I'd say. Do changes in the game engine prevent it from falling under the brand? I would argue, no, it doesn't. No matter how many parts you replace, it's still the Ship of Theseus to me. Your opinion may vary, of course.
  11. Ooh, the one piece of the Wall of Martyrs that I missed out on! Fingers crossed, it does come back eventually.
  12. Yeah, import them into the apps (for all systems that have an app). Toggle on or off, and you're done.
  13. That's entirely fair regarding the Kans and Dreads - trust me, I'm quite fond of mine! It's definitely possible that a modern redo to them would lose out on pose-ability, etc. I think, of all the ones I listed, the bikers would be ones I'd most want a refresh of - ideally one that respects the modular nature of the current kit. Like I said - the Orks hold up well. I really like the idea of Stikkbommerz; them, Tankbustas, and maybe some 'Ardboyz could be fun to see on the table
  14. I'm going to keep my expectations low - I think we'll get refreshed Tankbustas in the near-ish future, maybe a couple redone characters a la the new Big Mek. The Ork line holds up well for me - but if I were in charge, I would consider a refresh for: stormboyz trukks killa kans deff dreads lootas burna boyz biker boyz (with options for Nob bikerz) Plus, there's always the possibility of something new, like the Beast Snaggas or the Speed Freeks. It'll be interesting to see what comes, in any case.
  15. Sure, but for the whole "working for a living" thing, haha.
