  1. Thanks much for the kind words and welcome all (and for the lightbox hack, Firedrake). It's nice to be back. I won't be as active as I used to be around here, but I'm sure to pop in time to time to share more little blue men or gush over the insane projects people around here produce! It's great to see the BnC is still alive and well after all these years. I was planning to do the Devilfish from the box set next, but after hours of sanding and filing and filling this ungodly ancient model only to have these gaps and uneven lines still staring at me with defiance, I decided to move on to the Pathfinders instead. All pinned up and ready for priming, and should hopefully go faster now that I finally worked the kinks out of the formula.
  2. Man it's been a long time, good ol' BnC. My first painted models in the greater part of a decade and my first post in almost as long, here. Mass Effect Cerberus inspired Tau certainly aren't an original idea on my part, but I wanted to take a stab at it. Sorry for slightly lackluster picture quality, I don't have a lightbox or anything fancy anymore. However, I'm pleasantly surprised to find that these days my phone is a better camera than the setup I used years ago. So far just a breacher squad, I've the rest of the Combat Patrol to go through after this.

  4. The beauty of a black, white and red scheme is that any proportions between the 3 works.

    Templar Stuffs

My Templar stuffs, painting/modelling/artwork, and whatever else I happen to find worth posting. So there!
  6. The blood stays on the blade...
  7. There was an interesting tutorial on BnC a while back where you can paint great looking Fists by priming bone, glazing the whole thing yellow, and highlighting with bone after. The one tricky bit is working in sepia wash to shade the recesses after, but until that stage you can practically do it all blindolded thanks to how easy glaze is to work with. It looks solid and worked well for me when I tested for myself. It's a very bright yellow in the end.
  8. Mine have gotten shakier over the years, unfortunately. Plus you will eventually run out of ideas for individual heraldry. There are only so many ways to paint crosses, checkers and such :teehee: Anyway, the decal looks good. How fiddly is it with microsol/set? The few times I used water it was a real fight to wrangle the damn things.
  9. Looks solid. Microsol and microset make me sad I've adhered to freehanding all these years :P
  10. Never thought of this myself, and that fact infuriates me. :P
  11. More. More of everything! Feed my eyeballs more happy red murder goodness!
  12. He declared Priamus the Emperor's Champion when the first died during the Templar's final stand. Sort of an exceptional situation, I'd say.
  13. Never noticed that the gun has a Helix on it. It shoots Healing Bolts, like an Overwatch character. :teehee:
  14. The mace vet will forever be one of my favorite GW models. Paint him up all purdy like! :D
  15. True true. The Marshal was most impressive for enduring many rounds of combat against heavy hitter, staying stuck in with a unit of Cataphractii turn after turn, chopping them down one at a time. By contrast, a unit of 4 easily finds itself blasted off the table in one round of shooting. However I really do need to underline that I probably didn't use them well or in an appropriate list :teehee: The Marshal can also zip around with the Templar relic and move a 9 inch bubble of rerolls wherever you need it, whenever you need it. Not a Scars bonus, obviously, but I like to toot my Templar horn on those rare occasions where I can :D Anyway, is there anything in C:SM that does the intended work of Bike squads better? Rapid deployment dakka and/or special weapons, specifically. They pretty clearly aren't geared directly towards melee, beyond tarpitting something or reinforcing a unit that's stuck in already. This still chafes me, because all my guys are modeled with Lances from the days that you could deck the squad in power weapons :( The one unit that comes to mind is Inceptors. They aren't as fast, arguably not as durable, but hit harder. There are also Landspeeders, but until they get a massive point reduction (not sure the one rumored to be in CA is enough) they're pointless.
