  1. Didn't see anybody ask this already. In regard to wargear options that say "for every X models in this unit 1 [insert model name] can take 1 of the following"; which is the correct interpretation? Assuming in both cases that available options are A or B; Case 1) I have X models in the unit. 1 model can take A, and 1 (different) model can take B, OR Case 2) I have X models in the unit, 1 model can take A or B, period, and if I want to take both A and B I need twice X (whatever X is) models. For a more specific example, I was wondering if the following was rules legal: "five-model terminator squad including 1 with assault cannon, 1 with heavy flamer, and 1 with cyclone missile/bolter combo, rest with default fist/bolter". I know historically that hasn't been allowed, but it also hasn't historically been allowed for tactical squads to have two special weapons in the same squad; so I'm not going to just assume the prior status quo was the intent.
  2. I figured. Didn't mean to come off as argumentative, I was just saying. Since I don't see Outriders nor the ATV in that table of contents pic, I have to assume they are the two unit entries that are out of frame in the pic, which pretty much confirms relic termies and contemptors are gone from the marine codex, as was foretold. Once you include the re-added characters that used to be in separate books via supplements, it's a net change of two less entries in the codex. 7 (new units) + 13 (characters added back in) - 22 (removed/consolidated units) = -2 (net change in datasheet count)
  3. There's more that could be adding to the page count than just the data sheets. Lore changes/additions, showcase pictures, etc. Also, the datasheets could just take up more page space per entry. We'll see. Edit: typed this before I'd seen the table of contents pic.
  4. I'd wager it'll all be in time for the relevant faction's codex.
  5. I put it in computer terms. If I'm writing a rule book, or if I'm writing code for a computer game, in both cases I am writing the rules of the game. In the case of the latter, the computer is going by RAW for everything, and every rules interaction MUST be deemed as reasonable, otherwise it crashes. Yet we still have "exploits" in computer games. In short, "exploits" ARE (in accordance with your definition of) "unintended rules interactions". More persicely, they are "unintended rules interactions" which may be "exploited" to gain advantage. It's really a "square vs rectangle" comparison.
  6. Say what you will, as someone who plans on running a freeblade valiant with my sisters, i think forcing battleshock on the unit she's next to is going to be entertaining.
  7. -1 to hit is gone for all sm aircraft. As worded it looks like all aircraft must start in reserves. EDIT: missed the hover section earlier, so the below only applies if they don't start in hover. However, the percentage point limit only applies to units placed in "strategic reserve" BEFORE the battle starts. Aircraft are taken as "reserve" (not "strategic reserve") BEFORE the battle starts. They are not counted as "strategic reserve" until AFTER the battle starts, so they aren't actually subject to the 25% of army limit. You still need to take a character as a warlord, but the entire rest of your army could be aircraft.
  8. Ok, so I think I've just gotten so used to force organization slots being there that not seeing them made me think GW just hadn't given us that part of the rules yet. That restriction being lifted is going be disorienting in terms of list making.
  9. The real advantage of combat squads, to me at least, was the limitation on role slots in the force organization charts. As example, if I'm only allowed 3 heavy support slots, and want to take two devastator squads, and a couple predators (or whatever) combat squads let me do that, since I could split the devs. I don't think we've seen yet anything about force org slots. If they've just gotten rid of them, which I doubt, then I'd agree losing combat squads isn't much of a loss, BUT if slot competition between units is there, then CS being gone starts to mean something.
  10. As a marine player, I am both disappointed and understanding about box-noughts getting legended. But as a knight player, the cerastus have me excited.
  11. I'm partially going off the pricing trend of the other heresy plastics, but mostly I just don't see cerestus continuing to be double the price of a questoris or dominus. They've done a major price drop before, so it's not out of the question, even of it is rare.
  12. Even without counting fortifications, I think the stompa and tesseract vault are still bigger. Hopefully there will be a substantial price drop from the resin version.
  13. I could see deathstorm happening if they do a redesign, if only for horus heresy; but I think that's only going to happen when the molds need replacing. I could also see a plastic dreadnought drop pod happening (also for horus heresy). What I DON'T see happening is the infantry pods and dread-pods being the same kit.
  14. considering gravis and jump pack are BOTH "counts as two", I would assume they count as two. I wouldn't expect them to stack (i.e. count as four), seeing as A) it says "counts as two" and not "counts as double", and B) just based on the physical size of the models, it doesn't make sense to count them as bigger than a centurion. On a more general note, with the lifting of the primaris / not primaris keyword restrictions I'm predicting the following will be the case: 1. terminators and gravis will probably be treated the same for transport restriction purposes, with the possible exception of drop pods. i.e. if a transport could previously carry one, it can now carry the other too. Again drop pods may be an exception to this due to terminator teleporting. 2. centurions probably still won't be able to use drop pods. 3. stormravens probably still won't be able to carry redemptors due to wound count restriction. 4. rhinos, razorbacks, and impulsors will probably now be able to carry any firstborn or primaris models as long as they don't have a keyword making them count as more than one model for transport purposes.
  15. Calling it now, Russ and Fulgrim will come out for the start of 11th. It'll be space Thor vs the slaneeshi serpent. The Goff rocker will make a song about it, and it will be more metal than Ferrus's hands.
