I voted blue lenses, as I think it looks and painted better, but overall red lenses ties better with the theme (cultist of khorne), and the current basing. Just my 2 cents. -

During the Scouring era the following traitor are basically the same or close to there 40k counterpart: EC, WE, DG, WB, NL, Fallen, and AL (Yes, Maybe, No, ?) Those that will need more time to change into there 40k form would be: BL (still SOH at the time), IW (conflicted on this one), and the Thousands Sons (The Rubric of Ahriman did not occur until after they got into the eye of terror).

Since it is close to the end of the month (and bored at work), time for March 2026 Hobby purchases rundown. Let see how this goes. March 30 2026 Spending: (-) 643 USD Battletech Force Pack x2: - 49 USD (Half of this is a gift for a friend and to grow there Jade Falcon, the other half is for a small Clan wolf force I am starting) Battletech Encounter: -30 USD (I was on a business trip for a week and a half, and the boyz wanted to play a game while on it). Fossil Dice shipping: -34 USD Gryph Hounds built: -20 USD (Gift for a friend first army). Carnivore Apex pledge: -510 USD (This is the last big planned purchased for the year, and excited for the project. 1490 Doom is great, and can't wait for this to arrive later this year. I have a weak spot for anything dinosaur / fossil related (My other main hobby). I sold the majority of the books and two more armies/lots. I put selling on hold due to busy season (average work week is 80 to 90 hrs atm). Total after taxes, fees and shipping was +585 USD Total: -$58 (Budget goal: -$250) The budget is in line with the target budget of spending $250. The plan is to continue downsizing after busy season is complete, and actually start hobbying again. I have a clan wolf project I want to do, and start working on the necrons. The Adepticon reveals also did not excite me that much except for the Red Terror (So good), and skaven. The starter box maybe tempting, but it is too early to say. At the end of the day, it is getting better. Tracking has helped. Thanks to everyone and glad to see this event is going well. We are 1/4th of the way there.

I will say with the recent reveals, they are doing a great job with the orks refresh. Good job GW.

I do the same. Life has been extremely rough for me since late last year (and continues this year). Luckily, I have been financially responsible for the majority of my life, which helps with these troubling time. I consume as a stress response (Tyranids are my main faction for a reason), it had led to many issues in life. What I discover to do was substitution method. Instead of buying a big box of models or an army off ebay (which will take yrs to get to) for hundreds of dollar, I instead buy a Battletech forcepack (around $20 to $25) or a single model to paint up over the weekend. I found this (and counting/tracking) works wonder for my hobby / life balance, in particular weight lost (lost 30 lbs. in the last 4 months). This little event also help track purchases, and have prevent quite a few army purchases. I thank everyone for being here.

Average cost for a standard 40k army for 10th edition.
Uprising replied to Uprising's topic in + AMICUS AEDES +
Every Faction. Also as we have seen of late, combat patrols and army boxes do not stay in stock for an edition (or months at this point). From everyone else suggestion, It would seem to be around 600 uk pounds (800 USD) to 750 uk pounds (1000 USD) without rules, etc for the average 2000 pts army. I want to say thank you to @Tawnis for thier wonderful break down. I know this is a vast question to answer but fun to think about. -
Apologies if this has already been asked but has anyone tried HH with the LI models? I quite fancy trying it with the smaller scale figures but before I spend any more of my already limited time on the idea, was wondering if anyone else has tried it and if so, what was the verdict? What issues would occur? What measurement or conversion need to occur for this to work?

I was discussing this topic with a few buddies over the weekend, and was looking for some feedback for those that still play 40k. What is the average cost (USD) for a 2000 pt army to play warhammer 40k? I want to excluded bundle deals (army boxes, combat patrol, starter box, etc), and online discounts (only GW prices). Please include rulebooks in the prices.

Some advice from someone who has run an ebay business off and on for 20 yrs now (Sold around 15000 USD this yr and last yr). You will not get full priced for anything painted, unless it is done to an extremely high degree. Have a floor for what items go for, and stick to it. The more you sell, the more you have to pay in taxes If you have time, separating up lots can bring more money, but has multiple issue: Time is the biggest, cost of material to ship items (packing material, tape, labels), more package = more chances that something get lost, customer support (more lots = more people messaging you), shipping, and fees (if you sell on ebay, you lose on average 30% on fees, insurance and shipping cost). Did I mention time? Take pictures of everything and keep them stored somewhere (3 months). You will get scammers that says this was poorly package, lost mail, item missing, damages, etc. Always get tracking and insurance. If you don't need the money / want to save time and just want to get rid of items, sell big lots on ebay (biggest reach). If you need money / have time try local first, then separate lots on ebay. Books especially Warhammer books go for crazy dollars (I sold several books that go for 200 usd or more). Models are in a rough spot at the moment. Finally, do not be afraid to gift or donate lots to friends or people at the local club. Moving is very stressful.

Tell us on what occasion you have been priced out by GW
Uprising replied to Deus_Ex_Machina's topic in + AMICUS AEDES +
I wonder if I am the only one, but lately I just been spending less on GW products, and instead would gladly spend the same amount of money for different games (looking at you battletech). Am I the only one that is not only priced out, but playing different games instead? For example, instead of adding or starting a new warhammer force to play a game (average cost is $2000 USD for a 2000 pt army), instead I spend $150 on a clan wolf force (some battle armor, paint and decals, and 15 mechs) for a force that is basically the warhammer equivalent of an apocalypse game force. -

Oddly the new CSM and Eldar release has also hit me hard. The prices in USD are crazy. I would happily bought multiple raider kits, but 65 USD for 5 marines is just not worth it (there goes my plans for a small fallen force). I dread to think what the prices of the IW and the new editions will be. I don't know if it is current events, rising cost of frankly everything, or shaky job numbers are effecting my outlook or if GW just decided this is the price. I also think the increasing release of FOMO / bundle boxes is GW way of releasing some pressure on prices but I don't think it is enough anymore. -
I just sold a few more lots (some malifaux and an old world warrior of chaos army), and made $375 (put into investments). Looking over my projects/inventory and what I am selling, I think I discover the core of the problem. I have 42 projects/lots/army, and sold 16 lot/army and books this year. So many models, so little times. That what 18 yrs of collecting does to you. Does anyone have tips on choosing what to keep / get rid of? This little event is helping, and glad to see other coming along with this adventure. Looking over what I have sold, I have very little regrets, so I guess I am on the right track. The struggle continue.
