Let's start with assessing the core issue: A year-and-a-half into working for GW and going a little crazy with the staff discount, I have too many minis in boxes, a certain amount assembled, and very little fully painted & based. I do enjoy collecting Warhammer but I prefer it better when minis are painted. This thread will be my umpteenth attempt to document my painting progress. A few pics of what you can expect to see moving forward. My current most active project: Orks. Currently focusing on the Deathskullz clan, will likely dip my toes into Bad Moonz and Evil Sunz down the line. The project that is the closest to completion: my Deathwatch Kill Team. Once I finish the core five Astartes, I'd like to expand them to ten. These Necrons were painted for a Kill Team narrative event and are missing a Nightbringer C'tan, that I need to bring home. I don't have much currently to add to these but I do like them as they're great minis, very quick and enjoyable to paint. The longest running project here: my Horus Heresy-era Salamanders. A large part of this force is made up of gifts from @Dagoth Ur, who kitbashed and converted my Praetor in Terminator armour, my Firedrake Terminators, Vulkan himself (with helmet), a Forge Lord, and six Thallax constructs. Last but not least, a guilty pleasure of mine: some Ultramarines. Very happy with the blue, but haven't touched this in a hot minute. This will likely be a 1st Company focused force, with some auxiliary support units here and there. In the next update, I'm hoping to show some Ork progress. I really like both the channel and the phrase, as they encapsulate what I strive to achieve in my hobby endeavours.

Fantastic news! I'm looking forward to running MundaManager through its paces with an N26 campaign soon. :)

It's been a while since I've organised a Necromunda campaign locally: looks like I know what I'll be busy with this September-October. :D The Goonhammer review is giving positive signals, to me at least. I'll be glad to have all the relevant materials in-hand in a couple of weeks.

Looking at the three selected stores for Continental Europe, they are all recent stores (oldest is Zürich, opened in November 2024) and are all considered flagship stores. So at least the selection of those stores makes some sense, to me at least. Can't comment on the rest.

Definitely nice to see your projects still going strong, Arkhan. Your narrative battle report from earlier in the month is great. I'm very tempted to play the same scenario, using the rules you came up with. The miniatures and the paint job you've applied to them are fantastic. The Genestealer Cult members, in particular, are stand outs: have I missed close-up pictures of them? If not, where might I find them, please?

Hello folks, Time for some actual WIP pictures! I haven't made any further progress on my Tyranids so I'm hoping that posting a couple of pictures here of their current state might spur me onwards to giving them some attention. The Screamer-Killer has the basecoats on her, bar the base, so now she need her highlights and other detail work done. The next unit I'll need to paint is these five Bargaunts, on which you can see the grey spray basecoat and the subsequent white drybrush. Rather than focus on the Tyranids seen above, last week I ended up painting a test model for my Horus Heresy-era Salamanders. Very happy with the end result for a line Marine, especially considering the relatively low time it took to get the model to this stage. Characters and elite units will naturally see more embellishment and I'll have to figure out markings and such for all the models. Anyway, thanks for your reactions and comments, and thank you for having a look. I'll be back in another couple of weeks with some updates. :)

Nice freehand work on the latest additions to your Crusade! I must say, I'm a little surprised to see a Librarian in Black Templar colours: what's the reason behind this model, if you don't mind explaining please? :)

Hello again folks, I've put down the basecoats on the Screamer-Killer but nothing really post-worthy so she'll likely feature in the next update. This week, I have something in power armour to share with you: This fantastic, characterful conversion, based on the Maloghurst model Forge World released a couple of years back, was gifted to me by @Dagoth Ur for my birthday about a year-and-a-half ago. This fella has been waiting for his time and, as Hobby Butterfly Syndrome struck once again, today is his day. The picture isn't great but I'm very happy with the final result of the model: he was a real joy to paint. It's the first time I use Speedpaints on a power armoured model and, despite some initial reservations, it turned out quite nicely. So much so that I'm tempted to paint up a few more loyalist Sons of Horus instead of focusing on my 30k Salamanders... Hello folks, We're halfway through Challenge 1 and I thought I'd check in and see how people are progressing. Personally, I'm finding it a little difficult to gain momentum but I have made some progress in the Word file I have for my DIY Chapter. What about you? How are things coming along? Are you focusing on Challenge 1 exclusively or have you already started organising yourself for the later challenges?

Hello folks, It's been a while. Haven't had much time or drive to do anything 40k-related in the past couple of years but I made a few purchases here and there, and the Pile of Grey grows larger. To try and combat that, I've set myself the task to paint every couple of days and to paint the stuff that I feel like painting. In the past, I've always pushed myself to paint models for a specific project with a relatively strict deadline and it never really worked out. I'm hoping this new, more fluid/flexible approach will work better. Anyway, to start us off, I've been painting some Tyranids recently. I got the Leviathan box last year and slowly built up a 1000-point army list for an escalation league in the late summer that petered out after a few weeks. Now, in 2024, a friend of mine is getting into 40k with a fledgling Deathwatch army and I've felt motivated to put some paint onto my Tyranids with the hope that we'll be able to organise a game for some point next month. Here's the result of the first few painting sessions: - 10 Termagants - a Winged Tyranid Prime I'm currently working on the Screamer-Killer from the Leviathan box. I've also got plans to work on some Adeptus Titanicus scale models, some Necromunda gangers, and some Space Marines for both 30k and 40k. Thanks for reading this far; take care!

I shall throw my gauntlet into the ring and join this third iteration of the Iron Gauntlet, one of the most gruelling 40k challenges in this forum's long history, as a participant.
