The future of Kill Team: a speculative discussion
FlamingDeth replied to Dosjetka's topic in + Kill Team +
I would love a campaign book with more in depth rules for running one, and adding a pile of options to units for granularity, basically any options that have existed in previous books that someone could have modeled. -
Alternative army builders? (other than BattleScribe)
FlamingDeth replied to NemFX's topic in + AMICUS AEDES +
Back when I used iOS stuff there was an app called Quartermaster that worked pretty well. I haven't used apple stuff in a while though and am finding battlescribe works fine for me. -

Good xenos starting point for a power armor player?
FlamingDeth replied to Zephaniah Adriyen's topic in + AMICUS AEDES +
Or, go least similar to power armor, get some variety! Ork Boyz did to a stiff breeze but you can get a lot of them so it's no big deal. Alternatively, get a bunch of meganobz and run deffwing. -

I mean, it's alright. Nice details. I don't really like the design of the robot arm, and the proportions are way off from GW orks though so it won't really mesh with a GW army.

Ishagu, I feel you're being deliberately obtuse here in your GW apologetics. You know the old writing addage if, "Show, don't tell?" We'll, we're told that half the imperium is cut off, there are devastating losses, and things are terrible for the Imperium, but what we're shown is newer, fancier super soldiers kicking butt everywhere all the time and people crossing the rift with impunity. You can show the bad side without a whole book of people being tortured by demons (or whatever.)

As always, I'm all aboard on the kill 'em all train. The suspension of disbelief on the survivability of all these characters ended after a century or more time skip where they spent the entire time in front line combat. As a DA player let me volunteer Asmodai to be the first on the chopping block. "Is THIS a fallen?" is his entire personality.

Man I'm glad people could dig into the website so that we have something approaching actual information about this. Baal is interesting though through the perspective of a psychic awakening. The blood angels are already one of the more psychically potent chapters out there, so they might not be taking a beating this time, when their book comes out it could be their anime power up episode. Calling it now, the Sanguinor model gets retired as he instead becomes some kind of primarch level Avatar of Sanguinus, possessed by his spirit or something. It'll be their way of giving Blood Angela their primarch while skirting around the fact that he's super, super dead. Also more psychic energy floating around could trigger the Black Rage in Primaris? Rampant, baseless speculation! Yay!

White Dwarf Leaks - Sept - Dark Angels Primaris
FlamingDeth replied to Berwald's topic in + DARK ANGELS +
How awkward must it have been to be named Lazarus before he came back from the dead? I bet he's grateful that his name makes sense now. Also, apparently the rubicon is better at saving dying marines than dreadnoughts? Time to mothball up all the old dreads I guess.- 55 replies

If you aren't afraid of some minor conversion work, it shouldn't be too hard to modify the existing kit for that one a bit. Replacing the front bumper/fender setup that has the grot tied to it with, for instance, the spiked bumper from the trunk kit could alter the silhouette quite a bit for little effort. Any changes made to the driver and gunner would also go a long way, even if it's just a head swap and sticking on some shoulder pads from the boyz or nobz kit. Rotating the arms holding the molotovs could also help differentiate it.

Sammael. I made the mistake of buying one in finecast so I didn't have twelve pounds of metal on top of a flying stem and its such an awful kit in resin, made entirely out of snappable, bubble ridden garbage. Sicaran because it's the best looking space marine tank. Aaaaaand...tankbustas? Basically any aspect warrior or exarch? I guess I should go with a forge world miniature to stick with the theme of the post better... we'll go with warlord Titan because it'd be amusing.

Hope not, just started painting my old one!! Good news! Your old one will still be legal and it's statlines will be hilariously absurd given that the new model will be four times the size. Enjoy your strength 19, toughness 37 model with 108 attacks!

I just assumed one set was it's formal feet, some polished Oxford captoes.

It's hard to say that categorically, if the remakes were done with old marks of armor at Primaris scaling then they might have sold better. As it is I didn't buy any of them because they may have been crisper in detail but were basically the same thing as the pile of marines I already had, but if they had fixed the scaling at the same time I may have replaced my entire army.

The general rule in writing is that the bigger the twist is, the more and earlier you have to start forshadowing. Going "oh there were hints in gathering storm" is nothing, for a change to the setting as fundamental as what they did they should have been dropping hints in, like, 5th edition, and cawl should have been introduced exact moment they started dropping admech models. There would still be lots of people unhappy with it but it wouldn't have been as jarring. EDIT: Honestly all that applies to gathering storm as a whole and not just Primaris introduction.
