  1. I hope datasheets includes other stuff like army and Detachment rules as well? Or are these not full indices?
  2. This just confirms the fear I've increasingly had with every new piece of information, namely that they are throwing the baby out with the bathwater and dumbing the game down far too much (including for matched play) just to make the game, including list building, even more simple for ultra-casual players. They said in the article that you are limited to what's available for your detachment and that a detachment has 4 enhancements. Going from every army having access to between 6 to ~18+ relics, and 6 warlord traits, and potentially some other points-based upgrades, to just 4 things? That's a major feels-bad and will make army lists a lot more bland and "basically just the same list as the next guy" syndrome. Especially for armies that were highly dependent on character customization to field effective and distinct armies. For example, it's hard to imagine a Daemon Prince even being worth taking without the ability to add some unique and powerful relics and/or warlord traits. I really hope that as we get more info, the list-building and character customization has not been stripped of options and flavor as much as it's currently looking.
  3. Does anyone have a link to the previous rumors or the leaked transcript? Would be interesting to go back and now and compare to what's been confirmed so far to get an idea of what else is coming with 10th. Though I'm concerned and pessimistic about these changes overall, I will say that it sounds like maybe they are finding ways for games to be impacted without the need to remove the entirety of multi-model units. One reason they went overboard with lethality in 9th was to try to artificially speed up the game. If they remove objective secured and make battleshock something that decreased the efficacy of damaged multi-model units, then you can still impact the game just by removing some models rather than having to delete every last model in the unit to make a difference. That would be a great change.
  4. It's so bizarre how GW constantly flips between polar extremes every edition and calls it progress. "You can now use your models from different codexes together! Enjoy your whole collection!" "...Nevermind, people didn't like soup, now we're really restricting it again." "We are making all guns and weapon profiles way more lethal in 9th edition to make every army and new codex more exciting!" "...Nevermind, that was too much, we are reducing lethality again." "We heard you and now we are making codexes more rich, with more options and subfactions and flexibility than ever before!" "...Nevermind, too many people complained that rules are hard and having more options are bad, we are going back to dumbed-down faction rules." I have no interest in Age of 40k: Eat Crayons edition. Especially after 9th was such a hit and they seem to be backpedaling on a lot of the changes of 8th and 9th. I am hoping they don't dumb the game down too much, remove too much of the customization of each army/codex, or turn it into a sci-fi Age of Sigmar. Fingers crossed.
  5. At least GW is pretty consistent with several decades of giving Chaos garbage gameplay rules at every opportunity.
  6. Vashtorr's rules make him one of the worst models for the points GW has ever released, which is saying something. Every year I wish more and more GW would replace whoever on their staff writes the rules for Chaos models and armies. What a disappointment for such a beautiful and hyped model. The AoR is awful too outside some very niche things.
  7. It would be absolutely insane to me if GW took by far the most successful and popular edition they've ever had, full of rich, in-depth codexes that people patiently waited for since years and some of which only came out recently, and then they just threw the entire thing in the trash so they could instead force a totally different, heavily dumbed-down version on people. Then again I've seen GW do so many stupid or unpopular things over the last 25 years that at this point maybe no move is too aggrovating or dumb to put past them.
  8. This sounds exactly like the sort of horrible and unrequested and unnecessary changes GW would implement to a game that already works well and people already really like. Deleting every faction's stratagems and removing toughness would basically force everyone to play beer hammer casual 40k after all the effort GW and many others have invested into making matched play interesting and popular. If that's really the direction of 10th edition I might cancel my planned travel around the country to 40k events for after the summer.
  9. Tyranids are famously busted. 1/3 of the top 5 placings at 20+ person tournaments this past weekend were Tyranids. I'm sure CSM will get rolled by them and Eldar since GW would never release a Chaos codex that is a top dog. I just hope CSM is good enough that they can compete at the top after August chapter approved points nerf Tyranids and Eldar.
  10. Accursed weapons seem really good. Lots of stuff reduces damage so damage 1 is good. Str 5 is a great breakpoint vs the most common things in the game namely toughness 4, toughness 5, and toughness 8. AP 3 is very important especially with armor of contempt, often putting enemies on their invul saves. An extra attack is great especially in combo with abilities that trigger off attacks.
  11. Can confirm that is true Pls confirm if the same goes for DG and 1ksons? Yeah, DG and TS getting this would be amazing. Super cool from a lore and from a competitive standpoint.
  12. I'm sad that CSM and CK keep getting pushed out.
  13. I didn't realize you can't choose to stay in destruction. Dang.
