  1. Many thanks mate! Well it's kinda weird because the head stands much taller than the normal model. It's a matter of milimeters though... Anyways, here are some pics of krannon and Zhufor. I still have to basecoat and shade the flesh and the greens. Hopefully i will be able to finish that today.
  2. Just a quick update. i tried to fix a very damaged Krannon with the head from the chosen kit and it's going quite nicely, though that neck is giving me a hard time XD
  3. Hey y'all! I recently bought some second hand chaos marine minis and have been stripping the paint of them and basically recosntructing them with bits and what not. I thought to paint them as Crimson Slaughter because Krannon and the Draznicht ravagers were in the lot, also because most of the stuff had khorne alliegance (a Zhufor too). And since I already have some Tzaangors that I converted to use as the beastmen kill team I thought i might find a warband that's both Tzeentch and Khorne aligned. However, I've been way out of the loop with 40k since the start of 8th ed (the changes in the game bored me a lot. I thought to give Crusade a try because it seem like a nice blend of rpg and boardgame but found no one to play with :/ ) so I don't know much of the newer lore for chaos. Are the Crimson Slaughter still a thing? were they ditched? Could you please give me some tips on how to use the CHOAS in this new 10th edition? Also, here are some pics of the minis I've converted already, though they are still in a very raw form. Cheers!
  4. Hi mate I may be a bit late on the response here but I paint my grey knights as follows: - Grey Knights steel basecoat (it's irrelevant if on top of black or white primer, I just do a nice solid coat on all the mini) - an overall wash of that old blue glaze guilliman blue. if you don't have it, a thinned down talassar blue contrast works nice. - a quick not so dry-brush of grey knights steel only on the most raised areas - the same but with stormhost silver for the golds I do this: - retributor armour basecoat (a solid one) - druchii violet shade an all the gold areas - retributor armour highlight carefully - then stormhost silver hard edge highlight That gives you a rich, warm gold that contrasts nicely with the cold steel of the armour. If you are doing leather on the minis also use the violet shade on them as it helps balance the temperature. The reds also benefit nicely. Other than that also remember that some metallic parts of the minis might benefit of using a basecoat of leadbelcher or even iron warriors instead of the grey knights steel, and also with a nuln oil shade instead of the guilliman blue/talassar wash (mainly the guns and the backpack vents). This helps creating contrasts between different materials and overall make the simple scheme of the Grey knights a bit more interesting. Cheers mate. I hope this works
  5. Many thanks mate. I tried with stegaddon green but it's still too blue, and sotek green is way too bright :/ Someone was suggesting Incubi darkness but I haven't find any, so i guess it'll have to wait :P
  6. Hello everyone! I just had a nostalgia trip on facebook and found an album with pics of my old alphas army from 2013-ish and I kinda wanted to replicate that colour scheme again. Can you help me please with any suggestions on how to replicate this colour scheme using current GW paints? Specially that turquoise? Many thanks and I'll look forward to your replies. Cheers!
  7. There is one thing that primaris don't have (and firstborn do) and it's variety in kits, specifically in armour marks. You could say you're able to mix tacticus, gravis and phobos but they don't look good (except for reiver helmets) when mixing the kits. Also you could always argue that you can use older marks parts in primaris, but that would be using firstborn kits on primaris so it isn't a point in favour for the primaris but a point for the firstborn. That can be used for the age old argument of firstborn can be more grim dark than primaris, just because the versatility and huge interchagable parts of the different kits. But still, its a bothersome arguement and, in the end, it leads to nowhere. A better argument would be how do i use primaris in my army? because it's been 2 editions and i don have a grot-loving clue...
  8. Hey man, maybe do you have a closer pic of your minis somewhere? They look killer! Also, what kind of base size do they have? I kinda want to do that woth my speeders too Sorry for the deviation of the thread op, but these minis just look sweet!
  9. Many thanks brother! I ended up building them with executioner variants (the long range, high dmg variant) because it seemed it was the best option to support my deathwing and ravenwing (which i kinda built as a very much "in your face" kind of force). Many thanks!
  10. Hello guys! I'm going to add myself to the Dark Angels hype and actually put some work to my dark angels minis, so i got some heavy intercessors as my 3rd troop choice. I was building them last night but got to the opint in which i don't know which equipment to give them. I'm leaning towards the executioner rifles and heavy bolter because they benefit from the re roll 1's thingie when standing still, but i don't know if this is actually useful for this kind of troop in this army or it's just a holdout thought from my Imperial Fists part of the brain XD Any suggestions? My idea is to use a Deathwing captain, a deathwing apothecary, a deathwing standard bearer, a squad of 10 shooty deathwing, 2 of 5 deathwing knights, 2 squads of 5 infiltrators with paramedics, 1 squad of 5 heavy intercessors, 1 squad of 5 hellblasters, 1 squad of 5 bikes with maul and 2 meltas, one squad of 3 bikes and attack bike with 3 meltas, combi melta and multi melta and 2 land speeders typhoon. I don't even know if those units can work in a 2000 pts list, it's just what i have (as well as the old firstborn standard bearer and a bunch of tacticals). Could you guys please help me solving my question to know if these units work on a competitive way? I know 10th is around the corner but i'm willing to play a nationals champioship on october in my country and i think it will be the last 9th tournament, so i just wanted to go with a bang. Cheers!
  11. Hey all! I was wondering if you guys play Crusade often. If so, can you share with us your experiences in your games? what neat things have happened in your games or your campaigns? how far have you gone with your army? Cheers!
