  1. Kraith "We thank you for your generosity Trader Talmedion, and your loyalty. We have to be quick in looking at these weapons of yours, for the Adeptus Arbites here needs our assistance." Kraith bowed toward the Rogue Trader. "We would ask you to continue your journey towards Terra if at all possible, to warn of the treachery that has occurred. We will entrust you with dispatches and pic-captures to give to those in the Legions and Army."
  2. Challenge finished- 4 Necromunda Spyrers inspired by the Manga BLAME!'s Silicon Life antagonists. From left to right: Jakara with mirror shield and Naga blade, Huntmaster with Yeld laser gauntlet and Malcadon toxin whip, Yeld with paired laser gauntlets, Malcadon with paired slashing claws
  3. November vow finished- 4 Necromunda Spyrers (inspired by BLAME! manga Silicon Life weirdos) As far as the idas for next year @Grotsmasha, I have a pretty hefty load to do- I've got nearly a 2k Votann army to paint up (though I'm going to speedpaint them so it should be quick), as well as a new project that will integrate some Night Lords into my very slow burn Word Bearers hobby project. I think I might be able to do either, but the second idea (killteam) is more in my wheel-house as I'm looking at getting a Nemesis Claw squad anyway...
  4. Unfortunately no- I got the pic from a gaming friend who used to be a regular member of a WE discord and is still friendly with some of the members. No more info at the moment, if I get some I'll share. I suspect if it is real (as in a GW product, not a personal kitbash/printed mini), we'll get some sort of announcement from GW soon- they don't really like people speculating about leaked products too long.
  5. The chain-knife-hand thingy is kinda cool if positioned oddly, but otherwise I'm not impressed too much. In my view, a WE Butcher-Surgeon should be in Termie armor, just to protect themselves from their roided-up brethren, and I'd like something more than slightly different chainsword as a weapon. Heck, give him one of the weapons from Necromunda's Corpse-Grinder Cults, those at least look really nasty and utilitarian.
  6. Got a less blurry image from a friend.
  7. Standard Onboard Systems and Equipment (May salvage four): Remote-operated, pintle-mounted Storm Bolter (E) Searchlight for illumination (E) Smoke Launchers for defensive concealment (E) Geo-locator Beacon for precise location and battlefield navigation Command Vox Relay for secure command communications Advanced Command, Control, and Surveillance Equipment (May salvage three): Multi-band Vox signal boosters for long-range squad-to-squad, ground-to-air, and ground-to-orbit link coordination Multi-spectral ground surveillance Auspex for detecting enemy units Powerful orbital-interface secure Vox-transceiver enabling communication with orbiting spacecraft Teleport Homer Beacon to guide safe and precise teleportation of troops Transmission monitoring system and decryption engine, capable of jamming or decoding enemy communications Bio-status readout system integrating telemetry directly from the Power Armour of all deployed Space Marines Augury arrays and Vox arrays capable of calling down orbital precision strikes We need to free up two slots to effectively carry all marines, correct? What is most important/what can we get rid of? Might as well keep all of the E systems, as they don't cut into anything, so they're basically free. That's 3 out of 4 Standard systems there. So that leaves 0-1 Standard and 0-3 Advanced, picking two if we want to get everyone onboard. I would automatically take off the Teleport Homer, Bio-status readout, Transmission monitoring system, and orbital-interface; we don't know if we have teleporting reinforcements possible, the bio-status brings little benefit to deployed members (mainly a command thing I think), disrupting Ork communications doesn't seem super important, and who knows if there is anything to communicate with in orbit. So for Standard we have Geo-locator and Command Vox. Command Vox might be important if we require info/orders from the base (maybe??). Geo-locator also may be useful to figure out where we are going if we have a specific target. For Advanced, Vox Booster, Surveillance Asupex, and Orbital Strike Array. Vox booster could definitely help if the biker outriders get too far away, while the surveillance asupex makes sneaky ork kommandos less so. Orbital strike seems like a last-ditch defense/big bad thing removal device, which is nice. My picks would be all E systems, then 2 of the following- Command Vox (if we are getting specific, minute-by-minute instructions), Vox Booster (if we are going to be "outside" frequently), Surveillance Auspex, Orbital Strike Array.
  8. Veyr Durmla, champion of the Einhyr Hearthbands. Not originally a member of the Gnostari Dominion, Veyr was first a Hearthkin warrior of the Greater Thurian League. During a pioneering expedition, the Thurians rescued a broken Arvus shuttle that had been taken by Orkish pirates. Inside the shuttle was the Gnostari miner Trokk, later to become High Kahl Trokk the Denier. Veyr was impressed by Trokk's determination and future plans, so joined the nascent High Kahl's side as a personal guard. Throughout the decades that they have been together, Veyr has saved Trokk's life many times, using her hammer and shield to slay the High Kahl's foes and protect his back. Veyr has become the Denier's right hand warrior, the breaker of the enemy's lines and the solid bulwark of the Gnostari's bands. Never backing down from a fight, Veyr has spend years honing her personal skills and the abilities of his Hearthguard subordinates. Few Kin can match her steady, relentless drive for victory and the calm certainty of her path. Einhry Champion Veyr Durmla is the personal bodyguard of High Kahl Trokk the Denier and commands a Hearthguard squad at his command.
  9. Kurkov Kurkov heard the roar of the heavy bolter and the revving of promethium-burning engines. He turned and moved towards the wadi walls, climbing up and placing himself near Incario. His heavy flamer didn't have the range to do damage to the Orks, but he would be able to defend the Celebrant if the Xenos came close.
  10. High Kahl Trokk. Ork-Slayer, Man-Hunter, Reaper of the Damned. None of these appellations compare to the one that has come to define this deadly and enigmatic warrior. The Denier. The Ironkin who became more in order to protect his family. A miner like many others, Trokk was nearly destroyed when the plague ravaged the Shattered Star Kindred. The only Ironkin left alive on an asteroid camp after an Ork raid destroyed what remained of the Kindred's few Ironkin and sickened organics. The Denier didn't rage, didn't give into despair, or self-terminate. Trokk infiltrated an Ork kill-kroozer, stowing away in a pile of other Ironkin bodies the Orks were taking for salvage. Killing the grots and their Mek overlords, he coldly conducted a campaign of ambush and sabotage, slaughtering lone boyz and planting explosive booby-traps along what the Orks used as maintenance crawl-ways. For days this continued, the deaths and explosions lost in the normal chaos of an Ork warship, while Trokk got closer to his destination. He was finally able to reach the torpedo tubes, vast tunnels housing crude missiles. Setting the last of his League explosives, the Denier let go of all pretense of stealth and rushed into a hanger bay. Barely making it to a looted Imperial Arvus shuttle, the gravely wounded Trokk managed to blast free from the kill-kroozer moments before its own torpedoes cracked it in two. A Gnostari Dominion pioneering fleet found him before he expired and the legend of the Denier began. Trokk the Denier is a cold, calculating leader. Channeling the silent rage of his people's deaths, he leads a veteran Grudgeband of Ironkin across the stars to pursue his race's many enemies. No strategy is too absurd, no sacrifice is in vain, if it will save the lives of the Kin. Trokk is rarely out of the center of battle, leading his Hearthkin into the fray and meting out the judgement of the Ancestors with his robotic hands.
  11. I don't suffer from ADHD, but I do have a kid who does, so my sympathies. As far as hobby interest/motivation/"mojo" goes- it will always wax and wane. I've spent years out of the hobby and years in it, so I've been in both peak and valley in that sense. I have some specific tactics that I use to keep myself entertained and/or "effective" at hobbying, painting in particular- 1 - Accountability/Motivation. I've found that for me, having a set time limit really helps me out in focusing on completing a project. That's why I have continually participated in groups/events like Grosmasha's 12 Months of Hobby or the Call to Arms, as they both give me a motivation for completing (internet points/the love of other frater ) and keep me accountable by putting me on the clock to get stuff done. I don't like not finishing something I've said I will do, so these sort of things help me out immensely. 2 - Airbrushing. I'm not someone who will airbrush an entire model, but what I do is use my airbrush to lay down the base layer of the most common color for a set of models. This is typically something like armor (Space Marines/Votann) or a metal coat (Necrons/Imperial Knights' chassis). I've found that painting so much of a single color, like SM armor, really saps my willpower and after a set of five or ten models I don't want to do anything more on them because it was so mind-numbing. Airbrusing (or using a rattle-can like Army Painter I would think) really lets me get the "boring" part of the painting out of the way so I can do everything else without brain fatigue. 3 - Batch painting/One-offs. I typically batch paint five or ten individual models at a time (a squad of SM, a gang of Necromunda, etc...), using a single color on all the models before moving on to the next color. This allows the paint on the first model to be dry by the time I've finished up with the last, making my painting as efficient as possible. I will break up this batch painting by "rewarding" myself after I finish a batch; I will then paint a single figure that is more complicated (a leader or special model), bigger (a vehicle) or from a different game/army than what I'm batch painting. This gives my brain a bit of a breather and helps keep the excitement flowing, as I'm not simply painting an unending supply of basic troopers one after the other. 4 - Distractions. A lot of people utilize music to assist them in hobbying, having something pleasant to hear keeps your mind engaged while doing something that can be fairly repetitive. I personally "watch" cartoons (ATHF, Venture Bros., Futurama) or dumb action flicks that I've seen a billion times before and know by heart, so I don't have to actually see the show/movie to know what is happening. Anyway, good luck and I hope this helps a little.
  12. I like the idea of a d10 landing on 1, representing the universal truth of how we roll.
  13. Kraith "Horus, half his brothers, and their legions have turned on the Emperor. Istvaan was a massive trap to destroy those still loyal to Terra. The Great Crusade is now over and civil war looms." Kraith's voice was low and clipped. He took off his helm and looked at the humans directly. "My apologies for the bluntness, but there is little time for diplomatic niceties. We have come seeking allies and resources to combat the traitors. Nothing and no one will stand in our way."
  14. Apologies, been out of it this week. Not worried about the Brace action thing (but will note it for later- moving flame turrent enabled!), Kurkov failed Per test that I forgot to add in.
