  1. I'm not happy with these index rules. They're needlessly arbitrary on some things, and all the units I liked to use got worse. Really not happy at all, to the point where I think I'll pass on the edition.
  2. I like the statblock for HINTs, the newer Gravis Captain and Aggressors. In 9th I've had some good success running the former, they've been very tough to kill. Absolutely need an Apothecary to babysit them though. I dislike the lack of options in the units, especially for HINTs. No sergeant weapon options, like a power fist or sword, or optional parts apart from a couple arm choices. Very disappointing kit. And I despise the building process for most Gravis kits, they're probably some of the least enjoyable infantry kits to assemble that GW's put out in the last 6 years.
  3. Alternatively you could read the Night Lords Trilogy where, in the third book, the warband has 250 boys ready for mass implantation of the organs. And a very skilled Apothecary to do it. Baby's first body horror in the Daemonculaba is honestly the most embarrassing way to go about it when the Legions already perfected mass implantation methods during the Heresy.
  4. It's worth pointing out that this only applies if you're playing Warzone: Nephilim games. if you play Eternal War games from the core rulebook, you don't have to deal with the dinosaur plaster attempt at balancing the unbalancable.
  5. I'm going to let myself feel a small bit of hope that this codex won't be a complete garbage fire like previous editions were.
  6. Are we all pretending that Company Veterans with their bodyguard rule don't exist anymore? Cheap, spammable, pretty handy if you kit them to do some damage ( or keep them cheap to eat bullets ).
  7. My main takeaway from this short story is that a Primaris Captain had a heavy bolt pistol as a sidearm. So, when can I get that for my captains?
  8. I've always used Elysian Green with a liberal wash of Seraphim Sepia, but looking at the new Contrast paints I bet some good results could be had from those. I plan on doing some testers soon and will report back. Biohazard, every model you post gets me more excited! The guy with the knife and the hourglass is especially good. Is the hourglass from the Flagellant kit? SillyDreadnought, I quite like that tester. Are you masking off the transition lines between the red and blue? When I made some Howling Griffons for a friend I got the tiny masking tape strips Tamiya makes and those were a huge help. Keep it up guys! Nipping down to my local GW now for some more Primaris guys to get the ball rolling on my own conversions. Nope, freehanding it. I need the practice at doing straight lines anyway. But if I ever do a vehicle, I'll be masking it off.
  9. Started progress on a test model. I have never in my life tackled a white and blue scheme, let alone a quartered one. I know this is a very rough start, and the primer coat underneath is pretty trash and ruined the paintwork but... hell, had to give it a shot. No lore yet, he'll get lore when he's done. https://imgur.com/cYNgZU4 Also I can't figure out how to embed photos without them being ridiculously huge.
  10. I'll join in with this, but I won't set a deadline on myself since I'm notoriously slow with projects. I'll be siding with the Loyalists, specifically the Novamarines. A Terminator kill team of 5 models to start with!
  11. Killshot and Linebreaker Bombardment got removed from the stratagems. Shame.
  12. So Scout-Reiver-Hellblaster-Intercessor-Veteran? Scout - Vanguard - Fire Support Reserve - Close Support Reserve - Battleline Reserve - Battle Company - Veteran Company Although he doesn't stick to one squad type throughout his career, frequently changing from Phobos to Gravis to Tacitus units in any mix.
  13. Most of the new lore is basically cleaning up the mess from Shadowspear and pertains to the 10th Company and the "Do Primaris have Scouts?" question. The answer is "Yes, they do". The example timeline of an Ultramarines Primaris Marine has him deploy as a Scout two times before all of his organs are implanted and he becomes a Reiver.
  14. I'm really surprised that Ben Counter didn't make your pooplist. Did everyone decide to collectively forget Battle for the Abyss or Galaxy in Flames?
