Blackrat's Achievements

  1. I ran a SM Scout team for my first game, and then decided to switch to Sisters. That multimelta is an absolute exterminatus weapon.
  2. I'm probably going to go with the examples from Deathwatch RPG. Enough blue to diffrentiate from others, but still keeping with the deathwatch theme. Here's an example from fantasy flight games: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2010/6/18/knowledge-power-free-rpg-day/
  3. Although I agree mostly with other points you make, I have to ask, why not use the Tarot to appoint Chapter Master? That is an idea I haven't seen used before, but I can see the logic in it. It is possibly used to make even more important decisions so why not use it to divine the best candidate to serve as Chapter Master. If the psyker is strong enough, it would be assumed that his divinations and interpretations are "always correct", so why not ask him for help if it is available...
  4. I thought about the same thing but decided to ultimately ditch it :D. I still like the thought, and with the acid spit of regular marines, it wouldn't be too far fetched for that gland to have fire mutation. I say go for it.

  6. I have made a few small changes to the IA, as well as a complete overhaul of the color-scheme, which can also be seen in the miniatures in my other thread.
  7. Now that I've had time to think about this and read on Orks, I definitely agree with you. I will change it to them "purging" the planet every few decades or so, but with Orks living primaraly underground on Thera, they have no hope of actually getting rid of them... Merely keeping them somewhat manageable...
  8. :) I love Drax's idea of using an actual dragon as a dreadnought. And no, I'm not going to change the name anymore despite the urge. I grew very fond of it pretty much at the moment I thought of it. I'm going to add a few characters to the IA later today. My Chief Librarian for the start and probably the Chapter Master as well as Second Company Captain.
  9. Now I'm getting an urge to change the name, but I had enough trouble as it is to come up with this one... So I probably won't.
  10. Damn, those are nice. And seems you've had somewhat the same idea about going with lots of flamers.
  11. Wouldn't cleansing the Orks make the recruits less tough and dangerous? Yeah, I seem to have forgotten a crucial bit of information... Both Therans and Thuleans are toughest SOB's around not because of the orks, but because of the natural beasts that inhabit the planets too. I need to find a way to make that clearer in the IA itself. More details on the last two would seem appropriate. This is pretty good, actually. There's not that much, though. I'm not sure what you should add, though. So, well done. I hope you can figure out how to expand it effectively. :) Thanks. I'm not much of a writer and english not being my native language I struggle with every sentence of fiction I try to write... I'm trying hard to expand the IA, but it will take time.
  12. Eh, I don't think you read the sentence to the end. As I said, the difference is small enough to be counted as statistical quirk by everyone else, it's just that the chapter themselves believe it to be due to their "superior discipline". They haven't escaped the curse, they have Death Company, they send their fully succumbed to die in the wastelands, their statistical quirk just makes them believe they are "better than others"... Which is actually their biggest failing.
  13. I have decided to go with the name Blood Dragons. There are thematic elements tying the name to the monastic order style I have in mind, to their relativity of Blood Angels, and even to their fire-happines.
