  2. Oh Brother... you have an amazing collection and I have to say your painting techniques are really nice. I'm not at home but this weekend I promise to dive in the pics and comments. I love 40k universe but I think Rulebooks (or codex, or both) aren't brilliant, I never liked the game experience or even the ruleset. But well... this hobby is more than playing! Dreaming, imagining, painting... ;)
  3. I want to play some Tide lists, but I have never played this way, so I'm considering many points. As said before, a Chaplain Venerable Dread seems nice... It is a character and with its BS2+ it can move and shoot at 3+. He can be surrounded with crusaders, and maybe a Techmarine as support. It is expensive, but if we think the enemy can't shoot him, because the crusaders... he can footslog and shoot every turn at 3+ and rerrolling 1's if we footlog with a Marshal or High Marshal. 212p with Twin Lascannon, moving and AT support. 183p aprox with Plasma cannon, moving and Anti-MEQ.
  4. I think Intercessors are a MUST. If you're starting you should be patient and smart when buying, because we think Primaris will replace most of marine units... so maybe you wil buy and paint some unit that could disapear in 2-3years. But you should take my words with some salt, because these are only hobbyist thoughts
  5. Hi brother! In the codex Space Marines (8th) with the new codex astartes' company organization you have a fantastic example in the pag26. about the Ultramarines' Second Company while Cato Sicarius is declared lost, I suppose it is during the Plague Wars, so the company has normarines and primarines: "Captain Acheran assumed command of 2nd Company, and is accompanied by the Company Veterans known as the Lions of Macragge. Additional leadership elements include two Lieutenants (one a newly joined Primaris Marine) and a Chaplain. An Apothecary and Company Ancient were also attached to the 2nd Company’s command." So after reading that text I think the Company Veterans are brothers from the second company, or assigned to the 2nd in that stage of the campaing, the Primaris Lieutenant was assigned to the 2nd company (not assigned to it when promoted from scout company) About painting... well in that example all the command squad is wearing gold trim, according with the company colour. In the pag14, you can see the colours of veterans: white helmet, nut in the pag24 the "normal" veterans didn't wear the white helmet... So, I think you should paint the veterans with the colour of the company, but keeping in mind they are hard boys, so you could add any details or variations as you wish...
  6. Congrats Brother! I'm a noob, so maybe I'm wrong with this: I think a Castellan (Lieutenant) that is going to be advancing and in the forefront of the battle (not the first, but close enough) for adding that aura to the High Marshals' aura, is not a good choice as Warlord, because it has no access to Invul. Save (no access to StormShield or Iron Halo) even giving him a Relic (The Armour Indomitus) the invul will remain for a single turn. So he is not more resilent than an Apothecary or Ancient. I think it is not too difficult to engage him in melee and slain him, he has a normal power armour. I think there are several missions that killing the Warlord give points, and extra points when the mission is about killing enemy units. Maybe a Captain should be your Warlord. I usually use a Captain with StormShield and PowerAxe, and I choose him as Warlord and he stays far from the frontline, supporting my Devastators and Predator. I want to say again that I'm a noob and maybe my opinion is totally wrong.
  7. Hello Brothers! This is an interesting thread, I'm really interested in the Chaplain Dreadnought. How do you equip it? Which weapons do you recommend? I have never played a Dread in 8th edition, and I have some bits for doing a fantastic conversion for my Chaplain Dread, so I want to know the best configurations or the best options and trying to fit it with my own playstyle.
  8. I think it was in 5th edition when some Gue'vesa background was released (around 2009). I think the first Gue'vesa units were founded with the imperial troops that were left behind in the Damocles Gulf Crusade. They were captured and surrended by O'Shova. He gave them two options: Join or die. So I suppose FarSight has the biggest forces.
  9. is this correct? also I'm not seeing dual sword load out in BScribe does Crusader squad not have access to dual melee ? Crusader Squad don't have access to dual melee. I think only the Sword Brother. You can do the dual melee with Company Veterans (they will be Sword B. with dual weapons), more zeal is impossible!
  10. I think this thread is really interesting. I have not read the novels, cause English is not my mother language so... it is difficult to read some kind of texts. I'm really interested in the Primaris PoV, the only fragment I found is the next one from Dark Angels codex (p115) 'These are the sons of the Lion, and it is no small task to impress them. I have fought in almost a hundred engagements since joining my brethren on the Rock, leading Squad Grellius to complete every mission assigned, yet not a word of praise have I heard. And rightly so - for such duty were we created and trained. Yet against the cultist waves and Daemon tides invading Hive Trall, our squad alone held a crucial hab-complex against the enemy. When Grand Master Belial arrived to retake the area and recover the gene-seed of the dead, he was surprised find we had held the line. I think I even saw him smile. In that moment, I believed our acceptance amongst our brethren was complete.' - Hellblaster Sergeant Grellius So I think this piece confirms the distrust that Inner Circle feel towards Primaris. And also reflects the other side... Primaris feel rejected by their brothers. In the other hand we have Pedro Kantor, who is worried about Primaris they received in Rynn's World (Codex SM pag105) '[...]with Primaris reinforcements from Archmagos Cawl, there were entire new companies of Crimson Fists that had never known Rynn’s World or the Chapter’s rituals.' Also Crinsom Fists page 41: 'A new sacred day has been added to the Crimson Fists’ traditions – the Day of Renewal – marking when the Chapter and its gene-banks were unexpectedly replenished by the Indomitus Crusade. The Crimson Fists renew their vow on this day to repay their debt to Roboute Guilliman.' So we have DA's Inner Circle in the distrust position (well, that is their nature), and Pedro Kantor really happy with his new toys. I also remember to read about Dante and Seth talking about the Primaris in Devastation of Baal. Seth argued that when a "normarine" die, it will be replaced with a Primaris, so in a not too far future the Flesh Tearers will be totally replaced with Primarines, who are not true Flesh Tearers (Seth's opinion). So I think Primaris PoV should will depend on their assigned chapter and their own success.
