  1. Rhinos? No. Land Raiders yes. Honestly I don't see Rhinos getting refreshed. It's an ancient kit by today's progressive standards. Land Raiders? Well, with the Terminator refresh, and LRs being basically as Iconic as their cargo, I could see them putting out a new LR kit. But short term Primaris are absolutely going to have to be able to ride in 40k's most Iconic vehicle.
  2. Wait, your the one blatantly conflating ideas. Primaris refers directly to Cawl altered Marines. Mark X armor is, armor. It literally has its own designation, Mark X. Because gamers may use Primaris wrongly to refer to armor marks is irrelevant to the point that GW is clearly making moves to not support "NON-CAWL-ALTERED Marines."
  3. Okay skipping over a lot of the last two pages and getting back to my discussion with @WARMASTER_ Forget the terminator suits of armor. I will die on the hill that GW is and will stop actively supporting Mk1 Marines in favor of Cawl Marines. Not only are they doing gradually with the models, but the recent Novels have all but put the nail in the coffin. So to continue to argue that Mk1 marines are going to coexist with Cawl marines forever as separate model kits is just silly. Of Course GW will keep Legends around for a long time, maybe even forever (paper is cheap compared to plastic production). They may even quietly phase out the "Primaris" keyword. But in the future, all (40k) marines will be Cawl marines; sold by GW and written about in the lore. That's just an inevitability. What I actually foresee (if they're smart) is FW taking up 'The Scouring' as a historical setting after the Heresy is concluded and supporting die hard Mk1 Marine enjoyers after 40k has completely moved on from supporting them. So basically in years we may see FW supporting 30-40k and GW actively moving forward with 41+k.
  4. People keep saying "they just released a FB kit!" And I can easily say "they just released a Primaris Kit!" Bloat and costs are why it's crazy to think GW is going to maintain the FULL FB model line alongside an expanding Primaris line forever. They are a business. Cost efficiency is a thing. Shelf space is a thing. Publication bloat is definitely a thing in 40k. It's funny to me how people are claiming the New Termies are a "New FB kit" when really, they are a new Primaris kit. More and more FB only units keep getting Legends treatment and now the most iconic SM unit ever can be run as Primaris but somehow its a sign of FB longevity. Allowing them to be FB as well as Primaris is just appeasing all the SM players still running their FB armies. If they release newer MkVII tacticals or refresh any other FB only kits WITHOUT also giving them the Primaris keyword, then you have evidence of FB longevity. Sure they will keep them in the rules a while longer while they continue to flesh out the full line of Primaris models, but it will be very interesting to see what new FB units get relegated to Legends when the 10th codex drops.
  5. I still can't believe people really believe GWs long term plan is to keep making Firstborn model line alongside Primaris. It's crazy. Primaris can now be our beloved Indominus Terminators. So once Primaris get proper jump pack choppy slashy boys there is really nothing stopping them from discontinuing First Born. I expect a refreshed or Cawlized Land Raidrer kit in the next 12 months. Then really what role do you still need firstborn for? Not much.
  6. I am now expecting a refreshed Land Raider kit within the next year. Or a new 'Hover Raider' to replace it. Now that Primaris will take over Temrinator duties they need a fresh ride.
  7. I agree will most of your worries. A sad part of the Heresy Series is they are now explaining things that were great as myth/legend. Let's hope they leave SOME mystery for the most mysterious boys.
  8. Wow, new nids?! I saw a rumor but legit dismissed it. This could be interesting.
  9. Exactly this! I was soo happy to see this rule. Although it may hurt some traditional 'good against all weapons' like melta.
  10. I always viewed The Scouring as, The Scouring. Not part of the Horus Heresy. Being that the Heresy ended when Horus was vaporized and the traitors fled Terra. But maybe that's just me. As for the OP, a little bit of rivet counting is what separates 30k from 40k though. A new player should be granted leeway to get them in. But they should be gently encouraged to appropriate models. But that's basically anything pre-MkVII for infantry. And with Pre-Mars pattern tanks now in plastic, there's not much excuse for not using them. The Legion Aesthetic I think is a big part of the draw to Heresy, and should be encouraged, but not a barrier to entry.
  11. Firstborn are deadmen walking. The model line is not going to see any updates (cries for Terminators) and will soon* be wholly relegated to Legends rules.
  12. You may not be speaking to me, but I do want to clarify that when I criticize the fact that no named characters have died, I mean that in the entire Gathering Storm story line and the splitting of the galaxy. I agree killing Dante through the Rubricon would be dumb. But as @Lord Nord said they could have killed some unmodelled captain or something to show that the Rubricon was actually risky. Maybe even have some old war digs refuse due to their chance of death. Like Telion, but they basically gave him a Primaris model without his name anyway. But they could have let anyone of the dozen+ modelled characters die in glorious battle. Signify how dire the Cicatrix Maledictum really was.
  13. Its not easy, that's the point. Oh and boo hoo for one model, when our entire armies will soon be relegated to 'legends' status. GW made ZERO hard choices. And now we have the same old setting with some new mascara. Nothing has truly changed. IMHO that's worse than an 'End Times' scenario. Something about luke warm being worse than hot or cold.
  14. That's what you got? Wow. No I would not have. I play successors with no named characters. So nice try at a personal affront but you whiffed.
