I've kind of slept on my subscription, too. I need to start watching stuff. Little over 3 months left on the counter for the model for me.

I ended up buying it. I like the chosen and Warpsmith and don't have a forgefiend. I have an old Land Raider that's been collecting dust that I'm going to paint up as a ride for the chosen. I've been wanting to make a Word Bearers army since playing Dark Crusade years ago and talked myself into Black Legion because I thought cult troops would be more realistic for them (for some reason I also thought raptors wouldn't be in the Word Bearers despite that not making sense at all). With these guys and possibly new possessed coming out it seems like a good time to do it. I really like the rangers and might be painting them for fun even though I'm unlikely to start Eldar.

I'd at least like a closer look at the new chosen at the preview. Would be excited to see any of the new upcoming sculpts, or teasers for World Eaters. I'm mostly expecting Eldar previews and maybe some chaos stuff from Eldritch Storm. Hope springs eternal, though. Kor Phaeron? Sounds like an excellent conversion opportunity.

I can see that. I'm pretty excited at the idea of new possessed models so if they're also good, especially with WB, I'll be getting quite a few.

I never thought of Word Bearers as close combat focused but definitely won't be complaining if those rumours are true. I want to really lean into possessed, warp talons and obliterators and close combat bluffs should benefit two of the three of those. If I show people my 100 plus hours of Dark Crusade and signed copy of Aurelian do I get to bypass the bandwagoner toll? :D

Wouldn't complain about a new defiler as I have a soft spot for them. I haven't been this excited about a 40k release in a while but if even half of the rumors are true this is looking to be a great one.

I've been wanting to build a Word Bearers army since playing Dark Crusade a decade or so ago. I convinced myself Word Bearers couldn't field some of the units from the game (berserkers and if I recall Raptors for some reason or another). I always regretted it. So for 2022 I plan to build a legal Word Bearers army. I have the units, including a Dark Apostle and cultists my wife bought me for Christmas. If I can manage that legal army I'll be happy but I'd also like to paint the new chosen when they come out and some other fun units.

Nothing especially wrong with the base model. I guess I was just imagining that a Word Bearers daemonologist looking different but I'm not sure how to explain it. The Master of Possession looks a lot like a regular sorceror to me. Thanks for the suggestions. That Lord Discordant conversion looks great, Malign.

Hello all, One of my goals for the new year is to finally make the Word Bearers army I've been wanting since I first played Dark Crusade. I'm thinking of leaning heavily into daemon units like possessed, warp talons and daemon engines. I'm guessing I'll want a Master of Possession at some point. Has anyone converted or kitbashed one for the word bearers? I'm wondering if I should try to make one that looks more like he belongs to the legion, or just buy one, paint it red and call it a day.

Would really like to get these but not able to spare the money right now. Definitely curious about any ork related stories, or anything by C L Werner (favorite of mine since I first read his Warhammer Fantasy books).

I've been wanting to get into this event since I saw it but work and home stuff has been getting in the way. I hope I can be forgiven a tiny entry. A wise ork once said the biggest waaagh starts with a single boy. Lot of rubbish that, someone should krump the git for sassing. How ya gonna waagh with one boy?

He looks awesome. I'd vote Slash from Guns N' Rose's hat or Lemmy out of the choices given. A lad that cool needs a hat to mark him out even more from the other boys. B)
