  1. Was trying and failing to find a picture of this one yesterday. Outstanding design, really can't believe it didn't get used outside of that one (now long OOP) character upgrade pack.
  2. And they're drastically different to what is, as far as I can recall, the only other example of shotguns in the HH line so far: It's actually representative of a big issue I have with newer HH kits - needlessly changing established aesthetics. Usually for the worse.
  3. Extremely ugly. Glad I still have a stockpile of the old Tigrus ones
  4. Applied the finishing touches to my chaplain. Pretty chuffed with him tbh. Nice to be back, good to see a familiar name. You're very kind.
  5. Interesting, I haven't come across Cathay being used for 40k yet.
  6. That's a nice vibrant red.
  7. Wow, that's a lot of armour. Always impressed with people who can paint these mini minis so well.
  8. I didn't notice the adapted leg armour last time, but I really like that detail and the way it apes multiple marks. The stock primaris knees look very ugly to me, so it's good to see them changed to something more traditional.
  9. Yes, but I didn't particularly like the fist the model comes with, so I plucked as similar an arm to the existing one as I could find from the bits box to replace it. I think it's from one of the old metal vanguard veterans. Thank you very much. Like most of us I certainly have my backlog/pile of shame, so there will be some. Amen, I've tried to like some of the newer sculpts, but even a lot of the heresy line just feels off given these sculpts I grew up on. Thank you for the kind words on my work.
  10. Thank you. I love the sculpts of that era, so much character. This is the third of those four chaplains that I've painted. Here are the other two: That last one was done quite a while ago, definitely thinking about going back to him and sprucing up some details. The arm for the current one is sitting on a pin with basecoats done. I've replaced the bolt pistol on it and added a little blood drop symbol to a decorative flat surface on the skull shoulder pad, but otherwise it's stock. Backpack will be an old Legion of the Damned one I've added a couple of decorations to.
  11. It's been a fair while since I posted and it looks like most of the links in my old thread have died, so why not start afresh? If anyone's curious as to what previous models looked like here's a link to the Dakka gallery I've used for hosting images. Currently working on this Chaplain. One of my favourite old metal sculpts. I think this is what I've completed since last posting my work here A Blackshield and a Black Templar for my Deathwatch. A couple of breachers for my Crimson Tears. Note to self - get more consistent with distance from model when photographing and with lighting.
  12. That is truly horrific. The essence of chaos.
  13. Couldn't agree more. I've got those sternguard and vanguard sitting in a box waiting for me to work up the courage and patience to deal with that much metal. Will wait to see what you do with them.
