I am a big fan of the BT fluff and imagery. My main hobby focus is conversions and modelling, and I am working to end my severe (decades long) case of painter's block. Outside of the BnC, I am a Parent, anthropologist, engineer and Energy Researcher. So, very confused at all times.

  1. I am sure a monodominant inquisitor with ties to the SoB would be considered worthy company by the BT. That said, I reckon any inquisitor that pokes their nose too far into astartes business run the risk of getting into airlock accidents.
  2. A ) Greyshields will likely need time to adopt the mannerisms of their chapter. So it is ultimately up to you! B ) GW paint scheme seems to show heraldry on tilt shields and crusade badge on the right thigh plate. But the BT are divergent and subject to the whims of their crusade Marshalls, so you do you! As an example I will be giving ALL my templars white pauldrons with black trim. I will then use the tilt shields to denote sword brethren status with red crosses on a black field. -T14
  3. Welcome to the Eternal Crusade, Brother! Your kitbashing and conversions are glorious. Do you do your own 3D printing? -T14
  4. I have similar concerns with my models. I have narrowed it down to these options Magnets drilled into the feet. interchangeable 32mm & 40mm base set for each model. Base 32mm and create a 40mm ring extension for use in SB squads
  5. remember combat squads, gents. Buy two hammers and two sets of claws, and stick all the fancy stuff in a single combat squad
  6. Cult of paint: Chonky Axe Boi with oil wash techniques
  7. I would be perfectly happy with a primaris crusader squad + 1 specialist of some kind drawn from typical vanguard roles (An eliminator, reiver, incursor etc)
  8. Absolutely lovely. My personal preference would be the basic icon version on both types. But that is basically my VanVets (firstborn SB + small shield) and BGV (primaris SB + large shield) sorted.
  9. Welcome to the eternal crusade, brother! +In Hoc Signo Vinces+ Do you have plans for adding symbols to your blank white shoulder pauldrons? Do you intend to add further models to this glorious collection?
  10. The shields look lovely as is. It is easy to overdo it when our primaris are quite embellished already.I will defo be in the market for many of your Templar STLs Edit. I will be needing lots of aftermarket mk3 style shoulder pads and sword brother style helmets. Any plans for templar helmets down the line?
  11. Does it have to be monochromatic? (black-grey) or can it have colour? True metalics or NMM? Are layered, wet-blended, dry-brushed, contrast techniques acceptable? I'm happy with colour, I think it adds a lot, NMM Curious, not a big wet blender. GSOH. Tangible Day has a very nice and basic NMM sword tutorial, using the loaded brush technique. It starts near-grayscale with just two colors: warm tinted dark gray and off-white. Once gradients are established you can then use inks for colour, as desired. other painters to investigate are Vince Venturella, JuanHidalgo, Artis Opus, Kris Belleau, Sam Lenz, Squidmar, Zumikito. (these are my personal Go to people on the tube)

  13. Hi Prot buddy. Now we just need Renaud to re-emerge and we can start an old boys BT thread where we sit and complain that orks were much bigger back in the good old days. Your take on the launch box is lovely. I am still waiting for my box to show up in the mail. Any day now, hopefully. You clearly still have the knack for black. I find your swords especially appealing. How did you find the crusader squad sprues in terms of modelling? Which assembled model is your personal favorite? The Emperor Protects! -T14
