  1. Sorry in advance if you have already answered this, but how are you doing the bones that stick out of the Plaguemarines? I also painted mine a lighter more bone like color than the standard green but can't get the bones to stick out from the armor like yours do. Thanks.

Yeah the rerolls are nice but if you want to get the +1A and a non crappy warlord trait you have to take either Asmodai and another HQ + Belial or an ancient and another HQ + Belial or dump Belial for Azrael. By taking the master you save pretty much the whole cost of Belial by not having to take a third character and can get the +1A from Asmodai as your second HQ.
  3. I noticed the new power sword relic seemed decent. A master in TDA picking his own warlord trait with it is 39 pts cheaper than Belial now.
  4. Asmodai has a greater effect than the +1 attack, they also re-roll misses in the fight phase That's true enough. Applying that to what I said, it sounds like 7 knights and Asmodai is the way to go, then, no ancient. If you go with Asmodai in that setup don't forget you can take another PA character like an Apothecary, lieutenant or Zeke/Libby.
  5. One other question on that strategy. Can we combat squad after using the stratagem? Or you planning to use just 2 CP on the five man squad? I really want to run DW as well. Just trying to figure out how to make all this work.
  6. I am thinking about running mine with twin LC mainly cause the TH/SS is 40 pts since he is a character and the LC are cheaper + 5 attacks is nice. I have run a couple test games on vassal with an ancient buffing two squads of Knights and a Ven Dread with DCW (Ven Dread gets Deathwing keyword), and he has yet to even fight in either game. The dreadnought and the knights just destroy everything in there path.
  7. I played my first game with Deathwing against Dark Eldar at 1500 points. Lists were Belial 5 Deathwing Knights 5 Deathwing AC, CF 5 Deathwing AC, CF 5 Deathwing AC, CF Land Raider HK Missle, Storm Bolter vs. Lelith Hesperax in a raider Succubus and Wyches in a Raider Wracks in a Raider Wyches in a Raider Wyches in a Raider 5 Incubi in a Venom Ravager Razorwing Jetfighter (Not sure on all the wargear) It was Eternal War Mission 1 and I got to pick deployment sides. I rolled short edges and three objectives were on one side. Since I was facing DE I took the side with the three objectives and deployed everything but the Knights. We played 5 rounds and called it do to time. At the end we both had an objective, one uncontested and one contested not close enough to call. I popped a Raider for first blood and both warlords were still alive. We both got linebreaker so 6-5 Dark Angels win. I lost one squad of regular Deathwing at the end and had another squad in close combat with one model left. The knights had one model left. My land raider had 3 wounds left at the end but took all the shooting until turn 4 when he charged it with a Raider. Belial buffing three squads of shooty terminators was big and with the Land Raider as a target shooty guys never were targeted. Shooty guys still die easily in close combat though but can last a bit longer now. Knights were outstanding even though they never got a charge off. They held Lelith, and her squad of Wyches in close combat for three turns.

I put together a 1k list of DW (probably going to be my starter list to learn the rules and what not) and you can get Belial, 3 DV squads (though probably would take a PC or two they cost the same) and either a Razorback with a twin lascannon (which looks beast now and provides AT support for the DW) or a DV 3 man Ravenwing bike squad. You can take the razorback since the rule changed to per unit or every other unit (still hazy on that one) allows you to purchase a transport. No mention of units actually having to fit in the transport, and they don't have to deploy inside them.

  11. I put together a quick list with models I know I have on hand. If my math is write (you are definitely going to need some kind of army builder this edition putting a list together involves a lot of page flipping and checking to make sure you priced out each gear item) comes to 9 points short of 1500 without the watcher. I threw him in cause nothing could take melta bombs. Belial 2x 5 man DW with AC, CF 5 man DW Knights with Watcher DW Champion LRC (for knights, Belial and Champion) 5 man RW Bike squad with 2 PG (teleport homers don't exist anymore or RW don't have them FYI)
  12. If you have a model with a wound (any wounded model has to have wounds allocated to it first) and a plasma gun maybe?
  13. I saw someone mention that we didn't have our own physic discipline. We do its Interromancy and the powers are Mind Worm, Aversion and Engulfing Fear. All are warp charge 6. MW gives a unit within 12" a mortal wound and they have to fight last, Aversion lowers to hit rolls for a unit in 24" and EF makes any unit within 6" roll 2 dice and discard the lowest when taking morale tests.
  14. DW Knight squad comes out to 250 for 5. If "does not include wargear" means all wargear and not optional wargear. Everyone seems to be interpreting it that way. Just did the math for a LRC it is 287 base and 314 with multi-melta. Also it is not a DT and only a Heavy Support choice. BTW The characters seem reasonably priced Belial at 150 and Azrael at 180. I might be taking them a lot since a Int-Chaplin in TDA is 130 base and a Libby in TDA is 161 with two powers.
  15. Remember points values do not include wargear for units but do for characters. Int-Chaplin in TDA is 130 instead of 128 since the storm bolter costs 2 pts. DW actually went up in points now it is 224 for a plain squad of 5 vs 200 and the DV build is 245 vs 225 with the AC guy being almost 70 pts. AC and PC are the same cost but the Cyclone missile launcher is more than double. Also all the command squad guys are now elites.
