  1. Back in Epic 1st edition where there were almost no fluff, there were a few chapters to choose from, and my choice stopped naturally on the Dark Angels because I found that their Flying Sword banner was awesome and if I had a personal banner myself, this would be it. Besides the banner, the artwork confirmed me as a DA (before 2nd ed). Here's some: http://d2ydh70d4b5xgv.cloudfront.net/images/4/6/space-marine-epic-battles-in-the-age-of-heresy-boardgame-roleplay-warhammer-40k-51c731024dee12bd4373769271350f70.jpg (this is the box of Epic 1st edition). http://4.bp.blogspot.com/__nUZVomM57c/TCLtZtqtQOI/AAAAAAAAAS8/t_V5FMGFWVI/s1600/spacehulkdeathwing.jpg (this is the 1st xpac of Space Hulk 1st edition) https://imgv2-2-f.scribdassets.com/img/document/223054205/fit_to_size/149x198/2f370b67fd/1501451984 (Citadel Journal cover) This DA artwork largely helped depict the idea of what DA are at war, which is raging machine gun marines / destruction methodists, - while being elitist jerks with their Deathwing As for more recent artwork I like many!, here's one I like (courtesy of https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Lion_El'Jonson ): https://1d4chan.org/images/2/23/Lion_El%27Jonson.JPEG (note the similarity between the Lion on this pic, and the Emperor)
  2. Very very well painted, man. You nearly make me like the robes no joke :p (I don't like robes) on your knights. What else to say? Your dark green plus the bright white is perfect. This is 10/10 (to me)!
  3. Personally I subscribe more to the past concerning DA, which is before the recent BL novels and before 2nd ed, even. I despite Gav Thorpe as a DA novelist also, so I tend to ignore all his BL work at least his DA novels, which is kind of sad. Because Gav Thorpe while being a BA-sided 40k dev, did truly respectable work at GW - there are many codecii he did briantlly design. But while he did good to 40k (overall), he did not to DA at all. Well someone should just ask DA fan base about his DA novels, the opinions are not exactly overwhelming positive.
  4. Hi, In the early 90's pre-2nd ed codex, DA could use any allies including IG and titan legions without it being counter-intuitive because they truly were like the first legion, aka the exemplar legion. Now I would probably bet on an alliance with a successor chapter from one of the big four, or even from the other former legions (Imperial Fists would fit). DA will be the big brother, the allied chapter will be the apprentice. You have many many choices here, just pick a not very known chapter (or a chapter entirely of your design), but with the best colour schemes to mix with our green (and with a cool name), and you are ready to go.^^ -Cheers^^
  5. an unkillable blue monster it looked like! sometimes we feel harmless, er deathwatch will get their revenge soon hopefully. May the Emperor be with you in your upcoming tourny! cheers ya!
  6. 3 days ago in the hobby, I came back to B&C!
  7. Today in the hobby I was lurking in B&C (ok doesn't count ;)) and changed my 2000 pts all-around army list for more tooled-up terminators and more tactical marines.
  8. Hi. Primarchs are not what people make them to be, they can be killed in the normal way. That's why I believe that Primarch rules should never be created, so much disappointement will come supposedly. Cheers. NB : I was absent these last days, just that as my response to Marshal2 Crusaders, it would be stupid to believe some DNA of the Primarchs not being kept in the Emperor's laboratory - this is a scientific laboratory-, Primarchs being scattered or not, but...we are going to disagree I suppose, so I'm done with this.
  9. And Space Marines were created while the Primarchs were missing. They were created with the DNA of the primarchs kept on the moon as I see this, "hadn't activated all the way" is pure speculation, once again. Cheers. If by pure speculation, you mean two concrete sources (FFG and the Ritual of the Crimson Fist and Codex Blood Angels and the inbibing of Sanguinius' Blood) and one source I think mentions it (The Spac Wolf trial where they succeed or become a wulfen), then yeah, I pulled all that out of my :cuss. Lol, the blood of the primarchs was on the moon as well, or not? Cheers.

  11. Hi. Well this is pure speculation of you then. :cuss IMO the influence of Chaos was an excuse for GW to dispatch the Primarchs in the galaxy so that they would each born in a different world oddly enough at their own image, and to add mutations all-around so that it terrifies children. As for the wolves, actually I prefer the chaos influence, more than the geneseed mutation. No disrespect to the wolves, but now the next step of the geneseed mutation is to become a 10" tall wolf with adamantium jaws and whatever else? Not my liking, but I can see that it adds character (if it's needed at all) within the chapter, and may be realistic enough if it is made by chaos. By the mutation of the geneseed? The geneseed would correct the mutation, or this shouldn't be possible. Someone should ask a doctor about a child with two heads. A geneseed mutation would never ever grant this. Ever, and so the Long Fangs are bizarro, but it terrifies I suppose. Cheers.
  12. Hi, jumping in the thread ;) Well to me, never ever did I thought about the bizarre that the Emperor created clones, and then Chaos modelled them. It simply is not true because...normal marines were created with the geneseed of their respective primarchs, geneseed which was on the moon and not corrupted by Chaos, and we all know that an Ultramarine is not a Space Wolf...so their geneseed is different. As of the topic at hand, I believe that the Primarchs were not created with the purpose of specific roles, but for love of the different colors. What we got are the Ultramarines (blue), the Imperial Fists (yellow) and to me the Space Wolves (red, and for red there are also the Blood Angels and to me, the Iron Warriors as well). The others are a mix of these colors really. Also the Primarchs were not only created with a color in mind but for the purpose of being military generals as well. The result is the Primarchs. As of the BL books, according to them, Lion'el Jonson is traitor-ish and "sad", borrowing the precious word of MadHoc. Did we really need several books about Lion'el being "sad" ? Great books....not. Nope, not really. No. Cheers.
