  1. I'll be honest, I have LOADS of space and I still don't think it's enough at times. Space to play is one thing, but I also want to be able to put everything away out of sight and mind.
  2. 9th edition is probably the most complex and deep edition yet, without a shadow of a doubt. The core rules are very simple, but they are overlaid with vast amounts of unit abilities, command phase actions, tactical options etc. Past editions had more complex core rules, but they weren't based around tactics or player skill - they were simply admin or busy work. Take vehicles facings for example - there is nothing clever or tactical about keeping the tank facing towards the enemy for a higher armour value. And don't get me started on crap like Indirect-Fire Blast-Templates with barrage, the minimal depth of cover rules, or the fact that characters had little to no unique abilities, etc, etc 9th edition is built around unit combinations, positioning on the board and planning turns in advance. For the record I HATE the ITC/Nova style mission design of 9th, but that doesn't change the fact that the game is more dynamic and tactical than ever from a rules perspective. Honestly people need to stop crying about vehicle facings or armour values. It was thematic sure, but not good in terms of gameplay. Like I said, I hate the missions in 9th, but when I get together with like-minded people for a casual game there is nothing stopping us from using old mission packs from prior editions. Just like there is noting stopping a person from making sure the tanks are facing the right way to keep the battle looking thematic.
  3. You don't have to get or use the Ultras supplement. There are very few rules or abilities of value there, especially if you aren't intending to pay Ultras. It's outdated and underpowered. Hopefully next year will fix it with a new update. Codex is more than enough for now.
  4. Absolutely. Simply select the chapter rules from the "build a chapter" list that most suit the Iron Snakes, and get painting. For example, Iron Snakes rules can be a combination of "Hungry for Battle" and "Whirlwinds of Rage." They gain +1 to advance and charge, and Hit rolls of 6 create additional hits in combat. The chapter would be re-enforced with Primaris, also, so you can use all the units.
  5. Could be good, something similar to the Minotaurs or the image above!
  6. I would change very little. They are doing very well. I would, however, create longer road-maps for codex releases, and foster a closer working relationship with some respectable YouTube channels like Luetin09
  7. Unfortunately a lot of people have a fetish for hating and complaining about anything GW says, does or releases. That's why there are people even attacking a release like this - one that fans have been asking for over a span of many years.
  8. I've had a look at all the pictures. It's great work, and very neat and clean - just the way I like to see the Ultramarines. 4th company paint scheme always stands out to me because it's different from the usual schemes.
  9. The rules have changed now. Kill teams are pre-determined with the exception of the Octarius armies.
  10. Looks far more like custom Phobos, with a phobos bolt carbine.
  11. Yeah just saw them. It's a unit that is closely associated with BT design wise. Fits the army perfectly.
  12. Is that a Primaris Neophyte to the right? Looks like Phobos armour with cloth. Very cool. And the Sword Brother is wearing MkX Tacticus, armed with flamer and power weapon. I wonder what the options will be.
  13. Why don't you club together to buy books if there's a group? The compendium probably isn't worth one person buying. Several people sharing a copy.
