  1. yea, It feels like something is missing isn't it? I don't know if it's just me, but there is a lot of bad-feels in 40k 9th. There are times where I have close and fun games, but other times I feel like a jerk, even when I am playing a unit "Right". For example, I am playing a big squad Black templar jumpack VVets with a marshal and a chaplain there. I need to be super careful with movement, but they hit like a truck if everything goes right. I still feel like a jerk when said unit just disintigrates a unit, but I also feel bad when they get blasted off the board. I don't know exactly what's wrong either. It could be my opponents, or it could just be the rules. something feels off, and at times it feels like there is no fun either way.
  2. Think of it like a warning label rather than an advertisement. GW's marketing team is letting you know that you should avoid playing opposite that list until they have sold enough boxes to warrant a nerf. yea, and everyone knows this isn't healthy for a game or community, at least everyone but GW. it's driving sales for sure, but man... I just picked up BT and while there are some awesome rules, It doesn't hold a candle to stuff like this
  3. yea, I am. Are they notorious by any chance? Mate those Mighty Brush decals are on a whole other level of tedious. Previous advice does not apply. They are incredibly difficult to work with. Beautiful though. Go and do some GW decals and I predict you'll have no trouble. Actually I printed my own decals and they were tricky like the MB decals, I'd imagine it's down to the not so premium quality of the paper. I heard that GW and FW decals are incredibly expensive to produce, which is why there are some sheets they never reprinted once sold out, such as the blackshields. Alright, I think I get my issues now lol. Still, I am getting the hang of it, though GW decals are leagues better. I like decking out my tanks in them though, so that is a plus.
  4. you know, I used to really like the rules previews. like with lumineth in Age of sigmar, it showed us how the army function, slowly feeding us more info until it finally came out during the panemic. Now, it just shows off super overpowered stuff non-stop. It's like the rules are being written for these previews almost. "You KNOW THAT GUN THAT THOUSANDS OF HORMAGAUNT USES?! IT CAN NOW ERASE A LEMAN RUSS! A WHOLE LEMAN RUSS!" it's like they're stamping on your foot and calling it a service
  5. honestly the grav bombard does suffer from this, but I do find it fine for outside of combat stuff. Then again, I usually only shoot it once or twice... I do like the heavy flamers a lot, especially for clearing out the ork boys my dread always seems to attract. Seriously, not even a power claw in sight usually.
  6. While not blood angels, my black Templar leviathan has pretty much single handedly held entire flanks and killed whatever tried to tie him down. Bought him second hand, but he has a grav bombard, heavy flamers and siege claw never forget the meta gun in his smackin’ hand, and that you can shoot it in close combat. In fact, I recommend the heavy flamers for close combat as well. It helps him destroy small infantry squads that may try and swarm him, and I had games where that won me the game when he cleared off an objective. he is also really tough, even more than my redemptors with a 5++. He really only died when a volcano lance was shot at him, but otherwise he is a monster. Every time he holds a flank I can’t help but be happy. worth it over a land raider crusader every day of the week
  7. So I made a new predator annihilator, and by heavens I love it. It’s the anti tank I have been longing for, and puts a serious hurt on anything it looks at. Really happy I got it painted too, it’s going to be a staple for a while (or until I get more parts for my dreadnaught / my laser vindicator) also! I managed to get into third place in my 40K ladder league with the black Templars, and managed to get a win in a victory against the second place guy tonight. Pretty happy about it!
  8. Absolute favorite; champion of the feast Van Vet with Fist of Belthas. this guy sometimes does more damage than my firstborn marshal. He is hard to kill by Merit of being the leader of a storm shield vet squad (gotta buff them up to be tough though) and can rip apart most things that come his way, from plague marines to ork war bosses. Plus you can make the model look damn good. This guy makes full use of the champion strat, and can help tear down an opponent’s big stompy thing. Second runner up: bones of mordred on a firstborn crusader squad sword brother. He slices, he dices, and if you roll well can punch above his weight and take out a lot of guys with his claws. Love this guy. Run him as a leader of a ten man Chainsword squad to keep him alive for a while
  9. So turns out, Tzeentch at 1k points is really bloody hard. I also had bad luck… I also had such bad luck all around today. Also had my puny jump pack marshal do 15 wounds to a lord of skulls on 11 wounds, killing it before he struck thanks to master of arms. I gotta say that guy is mean for 140 points
  10. 11. Oooo, I do like all these. Any replacement for the firestorm bunker? Or some of the larger strongpoints?
  12. well yea, just not all of it. I want alternative to the gun emplacements that they no longer have, or the firestorm bunker. The stuff I actually liked from the range ironically, even if they were annoying in the past
  13. Found some weapon battery stand ins, though not fully what I would want it could still be usable https://ttcombat.com/collections/sci-fi-gothic/products/gun-silos https://ttcombat.com/collections/sci-fi-gothic/products/missile-silo these may be closer to tarantulas; https://ttcombat.com/collections/sci-fi-gothic/products/gatling-gun-platform
  14. those are good! also looking for bunkers, pillboxes and buildings / gun emplacements
  15. Hello! one of the biggest things I legit regret not buying are some of the wall of martyr terrain sets. I did love the design of the firestorm redout and the vengence weapon batteries, but sadly they are just gone. Barring making really crappy pieces of terrain myself, what can I use instead? is there any MDF or other terrain proxies for GW terrain like this? if so, would like this thread to at least log it!
