  1. @MachineGod Thank you :) Here is a small update, I'm just trying out one of the Powerfists I had lying about while I wait for another one to come in, also I'm making a few Primaris heads with crests and will recast them to save me the trouble of having to do this costly conversion again. Enjoy!
  2. Hope you've all had a great New Year! It definitely will be an exciting year for the Lightning Bearers and myself (more on that in the months to come I'm sure, I am not at liberty to say more, sorry!). Anyways, Papa Emperor has noticed my loyalty and blessed me with many bits before 2017 ended; bits for the Breachers, Terminators and an entire Vindicator Laser Destroy to be among this along with a new Compressor for the airbrush so I can finally apply some paint to the miniatures already assembled. To start this year off I'll present to you all the beginnings of a Primaris Captain with Power Fist and Plasma Pistol, I still am waiting for the majority of the pieces to arrive from Mars to finish him off. The head if just a placeholder for the moment, I'm not happy with how the crest came out when I filed it down, even so I may find a use for the placeholder in the future! Enjoy!
  3. @OakRiver Thank you for the ideas! Currently I admit I have no idea where I will be going with the project in terms of iconography or style, I'm doing my homework on what I would like to implement when I have spare time and since funding is sparse I have to wait until I get more bits to finish my 'Vanguard Assault' tactical marines and Terminators. @KRG-23 Due to the stilted Indomitus Terminator I wouldn't say that is an accurate size-comparison and since it seems you didn't actually look at the video (from where the image derived from) I can only guess you didn't decide to see how they showed the size comparison where the Aquilon was a head taller! (video link here: ). @HCMistborn Thank you :D I definitely considered using Aggressors as a base for Terminators but so far there are just so many ways to go about it! (all of which are costly admittedly). I am still on the fence on whether I want to use Cataphractii arms to complete the Terminator and if I want to change the torso with something like Tartaros plates or even make my own entirely! The possibilities are endless really! Glad you like it thus far though ^_^
  4. @Torvak Kyre Yep! I heard how big the Aquillon Terminators were and just had to have a look myself so I ordered some pieces, I am satisfied with the scale and proportions which align quite well with the Primaris marines. @Bjorn Firewalker I couldn't agree more, I was always bothered by the Indomitus Terminator armour design, it just never sat right with me so I opted for the more upright designs which was offered by the Aquillon Terminators. They are at least a whole head and a half taller than a Primaris marine which is great for Terminator armour and my vision of them in the Primaris Chapter, I will put the design on hold while I order some Breacher Shields, Tigrus-pattern bolters and a few more specialized weapons to finish off the Primaris Breacher Squad; if I have some more funds I might squeeze in some bits for the Terminators but no guarentee.
  5. @Marqol I'm not sure what you mean by preparing but to do that image in that decent quality took me around 2 hours at most. I'm working currently on a Primaris Terminator concept, won't be a cost effective design so I will likely not be making many Terminators but that is ok! Might first order some bits to finish my Primaris Breacher Squad. Enjoy!
  6. @Magos Kasen Thank you! I actually want to stray a bit away from the whole Cerberus theme in terms of name and Chapter symbol, I just haven't figured out a suitable replacement for either. My primary colours that you will see again and again is 'white, black, and yellow'. As for the Deathcult Assassin, maybe someday but for sure I want to stick with Space Marines, maybe down the line I'll get some Imperial Knights before even deigning to think of Inquisitorial forces
  7. I managed to get in a game with my Primaris force for the Fate of Konor event this week at my local hobby store, I left with three major victories for the Imperium and it was all thanks to my Devastator unit which managed to wipe out 3 Tau Commanders, several Ork War Trukks and a Blight Drone. A good set of games overall and as a noobie I was quite pleased how it all turned out! So anyways, here are some pictures of other assembled units I managed to finish in the past! 1 Redemptor, 1 Aggressor Squad and an additional Inceptor unit from the Dark Imperium Set which I was unable to attach to their flight stands (I grew impatient). I'm also going to attach a picture of the start of a colour scheme idea I've done awhile back, this will be for the Intercessors and many of the Tactical squads possibly! While this is the initial scheme I have thought of I still need to make various colour ideas for the helmets to distinguish Devastators, Assault, Captains, etc. Currently I have at least another "Tactical" squad to do and need to purchase Boarding Shields for them so that they can fit with the theme I have in mind, additionally I have a Centurion unit to do which have to be converted up using 'Master of the Forge's' tutorial with the hope to making them more realistic.
  8. Sweet dreaded mother of Medusa do these look beautiful! It makes me really wish that this is what GW had made instead of Primaris (yours just look more Grimdark and Heresy), I can't wait to see the next update now :D :D :D
  9. I love seeing your work and have been watching for years now (has it really been years? I can remember when I first saw your Fire Angels being posted ages ago!). My goal is to hopefully reach your level of painting and sculpting at some point as you've been my source of inspiration for awhile now :) Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see those Custodes all finished up!
  10. Just looking through everything I have to say you've done an amazing job! I'm definitely following this thread and will be looking forward to updates!
  11. This is my disorganized "entry" (not really an entry but something to keep me motivated) for 'A Tale of Hobbyists', while I cannot make a formal inquiry because I abhor painting, I can instead make a lot of models which I hope in time I can paint! My goal is to better my conversion skills, improve my painting and freehand capabilities AND make indepth fluff to my unique homebrew chapter which with the help of this amazing community I can make truly enrapturing! The Chapter itself will consist of Primaris models BUT I will be making conversions to take advantage of the full complement of Codex squads such as Devastators, Tacticals, Assault, Terminators, etc. Here is my first WIP, I do have the Dark Imperium kit but there are no real conversions in that set (minus the Captain in Gravis Armour), so hopefully this will sate your appetites until I can get more photos of my Redemptor and Aggressors! As you can see it is nothing special, I was hoping the arms would wrap around to the weapons handle but it just didn't work so while this unit is almost done I will work on making a special "handle" arm to re-cast for future Devastators down the line. Currently I have bits arriving that will let me work on a Primaris Terminator kitbash, as we all know the Dark Imperium set hardly provides anything worthwhile when it comes to armies that are more well rounded so I need to bulk up my anti-tank and Elite choices. Well I hope you enjoy the Work in Progress! Hopefully you can all enjoy the progress of this Chapter as I do considering I haven't felt this invigorated about Warhammer since I was 12 Well until next time!
  12. I've been gone for awhile but with the release of the Primaris and the Fate of Konor I relaunched my crusade into the Realms of Warhammer 40,000. Here is a Redemptor all posed and finished!
  13. I've greened stuff the side of the leg for Guilliman and it...well it looks terrible and I will take images of it with WIP images of some Custodes. I've made some serious orders from the Forge World site which includes: Doom of Mymerea Imperial Armour Books, Avatar of Khaine with Sword, Sagittarius Custodes, Shadow Spectre Phoenix Lord and finally a trio of Agamatus Jetbikes! Should be about 2 weeks until their arrival through the warp! In the mean time I have 5 Custodes to paint in Warder colours and 5 more to assemble. For my primary force in the Horus Heresy I will be fielding the Custodes, until the release of Book 8 Angelus when I get legion units and fluff for the DA, for my Custodes I have already decided that for sure I wanted 5 Warders but for the rest of the strike army I am undecided. Options are the standard gold panoply of the Household Guard, the Warders of the Vaults of Rython or finally one of my many schemes I have developed. I have images below so let me know what you think! Sentinels of the Lunar Gene Vaults: White, Black, Gold and Red Guardian of the Hestian Vaults: Crimson, Black, Purple and Gold.
  14. @Bjorn Firewalker Thank you! I wasn't so fond of his original pose either and always liked how Guilliman was described while in battle (mainly the scene when he woke out of stasis to find the Black Legion attacking his home), even though Guilliman is a statesman he is first and foremost a Primarch which means a general who has mastered a certain art of battle (or all of them, however you wish to see it). I am currently waiting on my hobby store to get some Greenstuff and for some bits to arrive while I wait. @Venomlust The filigree wasn't really hard to remove on the armour, I just have to smooth over the plates a bit as it is looking quite rough. I do agree that the extra ornamentation somewhat ruined the model only because it looks too much like a parade piece than something I would envision Guilliman wearing. To me, at least, he would embellish his armour only with things that have meaning which means it would be functional in terms of providing his affiliation while not distracting away from the master-crafted set he is wearing, Guilliman does things for a reason and is economical with his choices so it makes sense. Overall I would say the original 40k model is beautiful, the filigree is overdone but without it the model could easily surpass that of many of the other minis that were designed by them, but as we know GW tends to over embellish their creations than needed, even units that are created for pure function tend to have too much plating that would border on the excessive; though this is for a debate for another time haha. My next piece that I am working on is 5 Custodes, currently looking into doing their bases to my satisfaction while I am waiting on the Greenstuff and bits I've ordered off of Ebay. Give or take a week or so until the next update possibly, but who knows!
