Alright, I'm gonna say it. I'm pressing X to Doubt on this one. On the Doctrines, which sound way too organized for what Chaos is supposed to be, on the traits which seem a bit too good to be true, the expanded Cultist stuff which is just wish fufillment, and most specifically on the lack of Jump Lords. Don't get me wrong, I can see the viewpoint. But the Jump Lord has only been cycled out recently, and they've flat out said that it's a model that's coming back. That, and wings are such an iconic mutation for our lords, and they choose NOW to limit it? When they could've done so easily by just slapping the Jump Lord with a "Use in Legends" sticker? Now, if there's some truth to at least some of these? I'll be happy. But the lord stuff especially has me... suspicious. Not even getting into Harkann

What about a World Eater one, using the Red Butcher strat?

I am actually a little pissed about the Thunder Hammer thing but... well, I can use it as a Mace or Axe instead.

Customization? That was nothing! I still miss the daemonic upgrade system & versatility of 3.5. Having Daemon Princes with a separate profile is nice but I loved being able to depict characters on different stages of the Path to Glory. Wasn't very well balanced (who remembers Dreadaxe DPs....) but was so incredibly characterful. We shall never see its like again At least you're one of the ones who admits it wasn't balanced!

As a Word Bearer.... my plan is to double down on the flavor of my army and start taking Daemonkin Detachments, summoning in Greater Daemons and Heralds, using Daemon Engines and the like. A ten man squad of cultists to screen the Possessed, two five men squads of Marines with a Melta each to provide distractions and objective holders, and the Daemon Engines (Defiler and Helldrake atm) to take attention away. In 1000 points.

Everyone says that until the rules actually then exist. I bet you would be using those DIY mini's as alternate models with the new rules if such a character was done officially. Ech... maybe? I play EC and WB. Best I can hope for is Erebus. I'd probably just get him.

All good choices, but what are its Profile and Special Rules in Age of Sigmar? Are they comparable to Magnus or Mortarion's, i.e., can I claim, "This is Daemon Primarch Lorgar, here to open humanity's eyes to the glory of the Chaos gods!" or "Perturabo has returned to conquer the Phalanx, corrupt Dorn's sons and break the Imperial Fists into his service, proving once and for all he is the superior warrior and warlord!"? Unknown as of yet

I can't give good advice in faith - I play four chaos armies, two of which are DG and TS. And the third is Word Bearers I do find my Emperor's Children are fun, but that's more for converting and the fact I have a Retro Noise Marine as my Sorceror.
