There was someone who once made a space marine chapter based on old diving suits. The smoke under the foot could be used as a bubble effect to show someone under water. -

Book 1 has him in the eye. From comments made on his Facebook ADB had originally planned to do I think 17 Black Legion books bringing the legion from its inception to present. It was clear thr protagonist hated drachneyen. It was recovered in the first Black crusade, which we would have seen in book 3 (or possibly even 4). We might have seen Saint Gerstahl then, whose tomb gets obliterated in the 3rd black crusade. -

Is the TV stuff successful? I don't really see people talk about it.

This is like the warning Disney puts on the song of the South. Has Genestealer become an offensive term for Tyranids or something?
-
By coincidence I downloaded it about a month ago. Much less fun than I recall. There's a PVP mode which was added since I last played but which seems impossibly hard.

I would have thought they'd announce this at the annual Skulls event. I heard somewhere its up in May. Any idea if thats right? Anyone know the date.

I know his work gets memed on a bit by the community but he really was imaginative. A visionary whose vision hasnt been followed much since. Dan Abnett dedicated "The End and the Death" to him. It was nice to see his work recently bein g re-embraced by GW. I once saw a story online, which was possibly apocryphal, that his daughter once took shelter in a GW during some rain. She mentioned to the staff that her dad had written a GW novel. When they found out who he was, she was asked to leave. No idea of the truth of that story but it shows how he was once viewed. I didnt read Space Marine until recently, but I read the first two inquisition books as a kid. The bits that stood out to me were the Mechancicus runaway who didnt want to be a servitor, or the scene where the inqusitor has to figure out how to torture a slaaneshi masochist. He does so by relieving them of pain by cutting away nipple rings embedded in their flesh. I didnt know till after he had passed that he wrote the script for AI - the Speilberg film that would have been Kubrick's last film had he not died during its making. Wikipedia says "Spielberg remained close to Watson's treatment for the screenplay and dedicated the film to Kubrick." -

Cool model, but it'll be a nightmare to transport. Those cables are going to snaaaaap. -
Does this new book tie into anything in particular or is it just a free standing Abnett novel?

Makropole actually sounds like a word Dan Abnett would invent for Hive City.
-
I had thought both books were coming out simultaneously. More fool me.
